Chapter 525: Chapter 291: The Demons’ Shock

Fang Zhen lunged with his spear, which crackled with thunder and was empowered by several layers of his Li Shan Seal: Sky Splitting.

Fang Zhen’s spear pierced Malganis in the back, right over its heart, and the Demon Lord let out a wretched cry.

The point of impact on Malganis’s back crackled and sizzled as the Power of Thunder blasted away its black scales.

In a radius of two to three meters around the wound on its back, all of its scaled armor had been completely blasted away by the lightning.

Severely wounded, Malganis staggered, looking as if it was about to collapse again.

But just then, Malganis made a desperate move.

It thrust both its hands forward.

A strange energy shot out from between its hands, striking the massive Light Gate that hung suspended in the air, a portal over ten meters in diameter.

"Who dares challenge the authority of a Demon Lord?" a malevolent voice boomed from within the burning Light Gate.

A colossal demon emerged, hunching over as it lifted a leg and stepped through the ten-meter-tall portal.

The Light Gate was a ring of burning fire, and as the demon passed through, its body created flame-like ripples wherever it touched the portal’s edge.

"Shadow Demon Lord Scarn, help me!" Malganis roared repeatedly in the demonic tongue.

Most people couldn’t understand its speech, but Fang Zhen heard every word with perfect clarity.

’A new Demon Lord has arrived? Called Scarn?’

Fang Zhen put more force into the Thunder Spear in his hand, driving it deeper into Malganis’s body.

Malganis screamed incessantly as a black, oil-like substance bled from its wounds.

By now, the new Demon Lord had fully emerged from the Light Gate.

Scarn’s form was immense, like a dark, towering spire, its body composed of flowing shadows.

It looked like a monster that had crawled from the deepest, darkest abyss. Scarn’s enormous, blood-red eyes glowed like the fires of Hell, seemingly capable of peering into its enemies’ very souls.

Its limbs were long and sharp. Each movement left scorching marks on the ground, as if its very presence corroded the earth with dark power.

Fang Zhen turned his gaze to the new Demon Lord.

This creature was even larger than Malganis, standing a full fourteen or fifteen meters tall.

Yet, it seemed to have no solid body. It was a being of pure shadow, its form resembling a gigantic black drafting compass.

After emerging hunched from the Light Gate, the Shadow Demon Lord Scarn straightened up. As it took in the scene before it, a flicker of surprise showed in its red, lantern-like eyes.

It seemed Scarn had never imagined that the Dark Flame Lord, Malganis, could be so thoroughly beaten by Fang Zhen.

"Another Demon Lord... What do we do? What are we going to do now?"

"Don’t panic! Go help Fang Zhen!"

Similar chaotic and panicked cries rose from within the ranks of the Divine Rune Legion.

Meanwhile, among Duke Phil’s soldiers at the rear, the appearance of a second Demon Lord made some feel immense pressure.

Others, meanwhile, simply trembled in fear.

The legion’s morale plummeted.

Seeing this, Fang Zhen’s expression grew stern.

’It looks like I’ll have to kill a Demon Lord to boost their morale.’

Just then, the Shadow Demon Lord Scarn reacted with impressive speed. It raised a hand, unleashing a massive amount of shadow energy that formed into a volley of black tentacles.

Like a swarm of black snakes, the tentacles shot swiftly toward Fang Zhen.

Fang Zhen could clearly feel the potent, corrosive shadow energy emanating from the tentacles.

If one were to hit him, even if it didn’t kill or wound him, his movements would slow, he’d suffer other negative effects, and it would even sap his stamina.

The assault would likely continue for quite some time, at least ten seconds or more.

Although the shadow energy had no physical form, its attacks were all too real.

Fang Zhen remained fearless in the face of Scarn’s shadow assault.

His precognitive abilities had already activated, allowing him to constantly anticipate the trajectory of the incoming shadow tentacles.

Fang Zhen yanked his spear from Malganis’s back. Guiding his flying lotus, he began to weave and dodge. Though his evasions looked incredibly perilous, he completely avoided every one of Scarn’s lashing shadow tentacles.

Not a single shadow tentacle landed on him.

Scarn had seemingly saved Malganis.

Just then, as Fang Zhen flew through the air, a golden light flashed in his left hand, and a Golden Longsword appeared.

It was Dale’s personal longsword.

The moment he drew Dale’s sword, an incredibly powerful force began to coalesce around the Golden Longsword.

For a split second, it was as if space itself had frozen. The entire sky solidified for a fleeting moment. The next instant, a golden rift tore through the void, and a beam of golden light slashed toward Scarn.

Scarn never expected Fang Zhen’s counterattack to be so powerful and swift. The sword strike hit it squarely in the chest.

The blade left a golden fissure across Scarn’s chest, from which golden light gushed forth.

Scarn reeled as if from an incredibly powerful blow. It shrieked repeatedly and stumbled back several steps, its tentacles and arms waving frantically toward the golden wound on its chest.

Fang Zhen hovered on his flying lotus, longsword in his left hand and spear in his right.

’Dale’s sword is truly incredible,’ Fang Zhen thought. ’The tier of this Golden Longsword has to be beyond Hero-level. It must be at least Legend or Epic rank.’
