Chapter 427: Chapter 259: I Am a One-Man Army

Only then did he notice that the three Samurai were two men and one woman. The woman had a crew cut, which was why he hadn’t recognized her gender at first.

The man in the lead was around forty years old, with straw-colored hair, numerous pockmarks on his face, and rough skin. He had a weather-beaten look about him.

Fang Zhen turned his Red Hare Warhorse’s head. The steed walked over slowly, stopping three meters in front of the lead Samurai.

Seeing how powerful Fang Zhen was, the rough-faced Warrior looked at him with great respect, even without knowing his identity. His tone was humble and deferential as he asked:

"Greetings. I am Nathan, a member of the Whig Society. Are you a Curse Seal Master from the mainland?"

"You used a Curse Seal just now, I could tell. And it was of an extremely high level. I’ve only seen the Vice-Chairman and a few others use Curse Seals of such power, and only from a distance. Have you come across the sea to reinforce Lanxi City?"

Fang Zhen’s brow twitched slightly.

’Lanxi City? What is that place? The Curse Sealers’ headquarters?’

’It sounds like a city on an island.’

Fang Zhen didn’t let on that he was unfamiliar with the area. He simply nodded slightly and said, "I’m here to provide support. I am the Ranger, Fang Zhen, a friend of the Whig Society’s Master Gwendolyn."

"Has Master Gwendolyn returned here?"

"You... you’re the Ranger Fang Zhen, the one who brought the Blood Burst Secret Medicine?" Hearing Fang Zhen’s words, the eyes of all three Warriors lit up at once. The way they looked at him completely changed.

It was as if fans were seeing their idol in person.

Fang Zhen saw the somewhat fanatical expressions on their faces and wasn’t particularly surprised.

’The situation in the Curse Seal World has changed so drastically, and I’m largely the one who instigated it.’

’Gwendolyn and I developed the Blood Burst Secret Medicine together. It seems the Whig Society didn’t keep it a secret, so I should be quite famous within the organization.’

Fang Zhen nodded. "That’s me."

The Warrior’s attitude became even more respectful—it could even be called reverent.

The rough-faced Warrior said, "Thank you for bringing us hope, Sir Fang Zhen."

"’Humanity’s song is a song of courage.’ Even a rough old man like me can recite that line. I truly admire you, Sir Fang Zhen."

Fang Zhen smiled faintly.

’I can’t believe it. I haven’t been to the Curse Seal World in a while, and I’ve practically become the spiritual mentor of the Whig Society.’

Fang Zhen nodded and asked, "What is this place?"

"I’m not very familiar with the area. I’m lost."

The rough-faced Warrior didn’t suspect a thing. "Oh, we’re currently on Glan Island. This is where the Whig Society’s headquarters is located. It’s far overseas, isolated from the rest of the world. This island has always been very quiet, but ever since that traitor, Tos..."

At the mention of Tos, Nathan gritted his teeth.

"Ever since that traitor leaked most of the Whig Society’s secrets, this island hasn’t been peaceful."

"Lately, abominations have been constantly appearing on this island. Although there haven’t been any large-scale attacks yet, they have already shattered the island’s tranquility."

Hearing this, Fang Zhen understood.

’So I really did appear in a different place. And it must be a great distance from Ellick Ridge; I’ve even crossed a warm climate zone.’

’The people of the Whig Society are quite clever. Placing their headquarters on an island like this—free of abominations, isolated from the world, and without so many troubles and disturbances—allowed them to develop in peace.’

’Unfortunately, the traitor Tos has already revealed this to the Eternal Night Council.’

"Why were you being chased by these abominations?" Fang Zhen pressed.

"We were following Curse Sealers Pat and Laura to aid Roundwood Village, but we unexpectedly ran into a large group of abominations here."

"Sir Pat is currently holding off those abominations at the fortress, while we risked our lives to break through and head to Lanxi City for reinforcements."

Fang Zhen’s brow twitched. He had heard a familiar name: Pat.

Pat was one of the Curse Sealer companions he had met during the encounter with the Bloody Lord—the muscular man who used gauntlets.

The impression he had left on Fang Zhen was that of a very enthusiastic and cheerful person, but his mind was, relatively speaking... how to put it... rather simple.

Hearing the name of an acquaintance gave Fang Zhen a sense of direction. He could head over there first.

He asked, "How far is Roundwood Village from here? How many abominations are besieging it?"

"Roundwood Village is about a mile from here. We just broke out, so it’s not far. There are at least thirty to forty Abnormal Ghosts over there, as well as Ghost-faced Spiders and other abominations."

"There’s a war fortress in Roundwood Village. Sir Pat is only able to hold off the attack because he’s defending it, but they can’t last for long. They have no supplies," replied the Warrior, Nathan.

Fang Zhen said, "You continue with your mission. I’m going to Roundwood Village."

Hearing Fang Zhen’s words, the lead Warrior froze for a moment, then shook his head and waved his hands frantically.

"No, no, Sir, you mustn’t go there! The number of abominations on the island is increasing, and they might gather even more. You’re all alone."

"I know you’re very powerful, but no matter how strong one person is, they can’t fight dozens or even more abominations! You are the one who provided the key to the Blood Burst Secret Medicine. We can’t let anything happen to you."

Fang Zhen let out a soft laugh. "Don’t worry. I’m more than enough."
