Chapter 1964: Chapter 1960: Mission Difficulty
"You know me, once I’ve accepted a mission, I must complete it."
Tang Ming squinted his eyes, looking firmly at Ruisi: "How much do you know about the Hua brothers? Let’s compare our intel."
"Then you should tell me what you know first, and I’ll tell you what I know in return."
Seeing Tang Ming so persistent, Ruisi decided not to argue.
"According to the intel I’ve received, the main target of this mission is a young scientific genius named Hua Luojie. It’s said that the gene technology he’s currently researching is far ahead of the contemporary scientific level, capable of creating Super Soldiers. The impact of his research results rivals that of nuclear weapons."
Tang Ming quickly introduced the information Zhou Xiong had given him: "This is why our country wants to send people to rescue him back to contribute to the homeland."
"Rescue him back to the homeland?"
Upon hearing this, Ruisi chuckled maliciously: "Your superiors must not have told you how the Hua brothers ended up in M Country, right?"
"Well... they didn’t explain in detail, just said they were detained while studying abroad. Is there more to the story?"
Tang Ming frowned uncertainly.
"What a joke! Hua Luojie is from your country, but he’s too young, and his projects and fields are too groundbreaking. No one in the country accepted his theories or invested in his support, so they went abroad to seek opportunities."
Ruisi sneered with disdain: "From what I understand, after studying abroad, the Hua brothers caught the eye of a mysterious organization, which then provided them with strong support from all sides. That’s how they’ve achieved their current success and breakthroughs.
Now I’ve heard his research has made a groundbreaking progress, all thanks to the support from this mysterious organization. How could they let the prey they’ve fattened up be taken away by you so easily?"
"There are really such things?"
Tang Ming’s mouth twitched, "It seems even if they want to return, it won’t be easy."
"There’s nothing to be done. They grew up with the help of others. It’s like watching your wife grow from a little girl to a woman, and suddenly someone comes to take her away. Could you agree to that?"
Ruisi teasingly looked at Tang Ming: "Do you know why when agents from other countries fail to make contact, some can still walk away unharmed, but no matter if your country sends people from Ming Group, Dark Group, or Dragon Group, they all die?"
"W-why?"
Tang Ming swallowed, his face turning grim.
"It’s because people are more wary of your country than any other." Ruisi sighed emotionally.
"Damn it, no one told me this."
Tang Ming couldn’t help but utter an expletive, feeling this time he was set up—and in a big way.
"Besides, you’ve been talking about Hua Luojie all this time. Didn’t your superiors tell you about Hua Luoying?"
Ruisi asked again.
"The documents mention that Hua Luoying is Hua Luojie’s older brother. But he seems to be just an ordinary person, without much value. He’s merely considered Hua Luojie’s assistant. The authorities instructed bringing Hua Luojie back is paramount, while they don’t care what happens to Hua Luoying."
Tang Ming recounted truthfully.
"Ha, there’s the problem. Everyone underestimates Hua Luoying.
I learned from the boss that an assassin from the organization had already neared Hua Luojie and found an opportunity for assassination, but it was thwarted by Hua Luoying."
Ruisi warned with trepidation: "This Hua Luoying is more challenging than Hua Luojie."
"Is Hua Luoying a master?"
Tang Ming became suspicious. This was another crucial piece of information not mentioned in the intelligence.
"I don’t know if he’s a master, but when the organization sent Mountain Wolf, he ended up losing an eye because of Hua Luoying."
Ruisi’s expression turned serious, "Mountain Wolf is ranked tenth. Because of that incident, James decided the organization should not interfere with the Hua brothers."
"Interesting, even Mountain Wolf got taken down."
Tang Ming laughed. The more challenging something is, the more it piques his interest.
"Another crucial factor—I’ve secretly observed for a while. If I’m not mistaken, Left Hand seems to be protecting the Hua brothers in secret. Judging by the way many experts have died, it looks like his handiwork."
Seeing Tang Ming was still unyielding, Ruisi reminded again.
"Kills with his right hand, smokes with his left, number one on the world assassin ranking."
Hearing this, Tang Ming’s eyes shimmered. This was the only person in the overseas assassin industry who had suppressed him.
"Exactly! That’s why James forbade us from touching the Hua brothers. Otherwise, I would have acted long ago."
Ruisi nodded cautiously, "It’s unexpected that Left Hand went to be someone’s bodyguard."
"Indeed, it’s unexpected."
Tang Ming nodded, lying back on the bed to ponder.
On the world assassin ranking, Left Hand is first, Black Spirit is first, Hundred-Changing Demoness is third, and Tang Ming is Black Spirit.
Though he had never met Left Hand or confronted him directly, Tang Ming was a bit concerned about him. Peers are natural rivals, and he was always a step ahead, which was annoying.
"Knowing Left Hand is involved, you’re still not going to give up?"
Seeing Tang Ming silent, Ruisi asked, annoyed.
"Originally, I had a nonchalant attitude. If I could complete it, great; if not, then so be it."
Tang Ming squinted, filled with fighting spirit: "Now knowing Left Hand is involved, I must complete it, just to see who’s superior."
"You’re crazy!"
Hearing this, Ruisi was utterly speechless: "If that’s the case, let’s continue discussing Hua Luoying’s situation. He’s actually the only one who can influence Hua Luojie’s thinking."
"What do you mean?"
Tang Ming looked puzzled.
"It’s true that Hua Luojie is a scientific genius, but his IQ is exceptionally high, while his emotional intelligence is negative, and he’s a bit neurotic— a typical mad scientist. He’s not interested in anything beyond research, so all his affairs are managed by Hua Luoying, whom he trusts completely.
Back then, Hua Luoying was also the only one supporting Hua Luojie’s research. Unfortunately, his abilities were limited, so he sought sponsorship and support in M Country, bringing Hua Luojie here."
Ruisi leaned on Tang Ming, explaining: "So, the most critical issue in securing Hua Luojie is dealing with Hua Luoying."
"Damn, Dark Group didn’t provide me with such intel, completely ridiculous."
Tang Ming couldn’t help but curse again. No wonder those guys never completed the mission; there was too much missing in the intelligence.
