Chapter 1107: Chapter 1017: Joking

Mo Wenwan finally spoke her mind, even though she knew Li Li might not accept it. Keeping it to herself was uncomfortable. As she fully expressed her thoughts, Li Li’s expression went from composed to less calm.

Li Li listened intently to Mo Wenwan’s words and realized their views were completely different, making many things change. Overall, he asked two questions that left Mo Wenwan at a loss for words.

"I think we should go to professionals, not just for me. And I’m not an analyst; I can’t analyze how much investment and cost recovery can make. President Li can find a professional in this field."

"In my eyes, you are a capable person, why are you now retreating from everything and refusing to move forward? Is it that I’m not giving you a good enough compensation?"

Suddenly shifting the topic to salary and benefits, Mo Wenwan felt uncomfortable. Thinking that Li Li abruptly changed the topic yet not knowing what he wanted, her mood soured.

"Actually, you can put it differently, and I might accept it. But for now, maximizing the company’s interests means having newcomers star in the movie is the best way to cut costs."

Upon hearing about cost reduction, Mo Wenwan thought: Not knowing how much has been reduced, if the money ends up being spent where it shouldn’t, they’d be better off hiring someone with a bit of reputation to join, or rescheduling other artists. Feeling uncomfortable but unable to show it, she remained silent with a stern face.

"Mo Wenwan, be honest, do you have other thoughts that you can’t tell me?"

Li Li was tired of guessing riddles. He could tell she was distracted lately; her previous full dedication to work was now at six or seven out of ten, a complete change.

Mo Wenwan hesitated, not expecting Li Li to notice her changes. She thought she hid it well, only slacking off a little by not supervising at the set, yet Li Li still noticed something was off.

Li Li scrutinized Mo Wenwan, his expression becoming suddenly hazy as he stared intently at her, carefully articulating his thoughts.

"I hope you can get involved, not just in person but also in investment. I know you have studied investments and know the ropes. So, consider it."

Mo Wenwan thought: Didn’t expect Li Li to be serious. She thought he was joking, but he really meant it. After serious consideration, she thought it was impossible. Besides, the company belongs to Li Li, and investing certainly isn’t a small sum. Plus, she had already agreed with Qin Miaomiao and signed a contract, so breaking it wasn’t an option.

So she said with difficulty, "I still have a mortgage to pay, and really can’t spare any money. Plus, movies are big spenders; small money can’t make a big impact."

Saying this with narrowed eyes, she gradually noticed Li Li’s expression change.

Mo Wenwan knew very well and was sure Li Li had other ideas. So she fell silent, waiting to hear what Li Li would say next.

"It seems you’re quite timid; investing in movies isn’t like you think. Go home and think it over seriously. This is an opportunity; even if you don’t have spare money, you can find a way."

Upon hearing Li Li’s words, Mo Wenwan felt helpless. It seemed he really was unwilling to give up. So she left Li Li’s office in silence, turning and walking out.
