Chapter 474: Chapter 4: Underwater Spiritual Acupoints
Yang Jing nodded in satisfaction.
Although he could increase his Magical Power by Refining Celestial Demons, his five disciples did not have such a Divine Technique to aid them.
Iron Head immediately got busy, carefully harvesting the Spirit Medicines in the grotto. He was very particular about it. He didn’t just strip the area bare; instead, he only picked the Spirit Medicines that were old enough, leaving behind the small, young offshoots that had grown from the main plants.
He was busy for more than two hours before he finished harvesting the medicine. A large stack of Jade Boxes was piled up beside him.
Yang Jing took out his Celestial Waterfall Sword and sliced off a branch from the Red Jade Coral, roughly ten feet long.
This branch of Red Jade Coral was also a rare Exotic Treasure. As Yang Jing stood beside it, bathed in its red light, he felt a comfortable sensation spread through his entire body. The reason the Spirit Medicines in this grotto could grow so lushly was not only due to the dense Spiritual Qi, but also in large part to this Red Jade Coral.
After storing the harvested Spirit Medicines and Iron Head back in his Inner World, Yang Jing took out a Nine Revolutions Red Blood Pill, fed it into the Sea Eel’s mouth, and then turned to leave.
This grotto was able to exist for so long without being destroyed by those Demon Monsters and Celestial Demons largely thanks to this Sea Eel.
After discovering this grotto, Yang Jing’s interest was piqued. He circulated his Magical Power, pushed his Grotto Dark Dharma Eye to its limits, and began searching for other Spiritual Qi Nodes while he traveled.
With his Nine Illusion Mirage Demon Qi and Grotto Dark Dharma Eye, finding these nodes was incredibly easy.
Within two days, Yang Jing found three more Spiritual Qi Nodes. Two of them yielded great harvests, providing a large batch of Spirit Medicines ranging from several thousand to ten thousand years old. The third node, while abundant in Spiritual Qi, had been completely ravaged by Demon Monsters that had broken in.
Yang Jing used the Spiritual Materials he had gathered along the way to refine a simple Illusion Array, which he set up at these Spiritual Qi Nodes. He also had Iron Head take some offshoots of the marine Spirit Medicines and plant them inside.
By the time these Spirit Medicines matured, he probably wouldn’t need them anymore, but they could benefit those who came after.
After traveling for several hundred more li, Yang Jing discovered another Spiritual Acupoint. This one was far larger than the others, measuring nearly a mile or two across underground.
However, this Spiritual Acupoint had obviously been discovered long ago; it was guarded by a Tier Three Array.
With Yang Jing’s Escape Techniques, a mere Tier Three Array was naturally no obstacle for him. He easily slipped inside using his Water Escape.
The moment he entered the Array, an incredibly dense wave of Spiritual Qi washed over him. The Spiritual Qi here was actually Tier Four. Motes of it had even begun to generate their own Spiritual Essence, transforming into auspicious cranes and dragons that swam back and forth within the Spiritual Acupoint.
To Yang Jing’s surprise, the seawater within the Grand Array had been completely drained away, leaving the inside of the Spiritual Acupoint incredibly dry.
The stream of water that was Yang Jing’s Water Escape floated in the air, instantly becoming incredibly conspicuous.
He reacted extremely quickly, immediately concealing his form with the Nine Illusion Mirage Demon Qi.
’This underground Spiritual Acupoint is so large. Since a Magic Array has been set up, there must be Cultivators guarding it.’
Sure enough, a moment later, two Cultivators came to investigate.
"Senior Brother, did a Celestial Demon break in?"
A Female Cultivator dressed in light gauze clutched a Treasure Mirror to her chest and spoke with utmost vigilance. She activated the Treasure Mirror, which emitted a gloomy, demonic light that swept across the surroundings.
The other Cultivator was a towering, brawny man covered in bizarre tattoos, his face fleshy and grim.
He scanned the area with a suspicious gaze for a moment, then activated a skeleton that was wreathed in roiling Demon Fire.
The Demon Mirror’s light and the Demon Fire skeleton searched everywhere but found nothing out of the ordinary. Only then did the two Cultivators put away their magical items.
"This Grand Array was reinforced just thirty years ago. An ordinary Celestial Demon could never sneak in. It was probably a Celestial Demon striking the array from the outside that caused the disturbance."
The tattooed, brawny man said,
"Junior Sister, let’s go back and report to Master."
Only after the two Cultivators had left did Yang Jing emerge from underground.
He wasn’t too shocked to find that the two Cultivators were Demon Cultivators, because the Grand Array guarding this Spiritual Acupoint was a Demon Sect formation.
Besides, this Spiritual Acupoint was located on the edge of the Demon Realm, and Celestial Demons often appeared in the area. Other than himself, only Demon Cultivators could sneak into the sea and occupy this Spiritual Acupoint without alerting the Celestial Demons.
’Since this Spiritual Acupoint belongs to Demon Cultivators, I can be much less scrupulous.’
Yang Jing narrowed his eyes, watching the backs of the two departing Demon Cultivators. The only reason he hadn’t acted yet was because there was also a Golden Core Demon Cultivator in this Spiritual Acupoint.
He wasn’t in a hurry to make a move. Instead, he concealed himself using the Nine Illusion Mirage Demon Qi and Earth Escape to investigate the situation inside the Spiritual Acupoint.
The entire Spiritual Acupoint had been cultivated into vast Spirit Fields, where all sorts of rare Spirit Medicines were planted.
Because these Spirit Medicines were cultivated by Cultivators, Yang Jing recognized the Names of quite a few. Most were incredibly valuable and hard to find in the wild, typically only found in the Medicinal Gardens of the Six Sects.
Of course, these Spirit Medicines alone wouldn’t be enough to make a Golden Core and several Foundation Establishment Demon Cultivators risk so much to guard this Spiritual Acupoint.
In the center of the Spiritual Acupoint stood a colossal Seven-Color Coral, over a hundred feet tall. A Crystal Shield covered it, and nine Vast Sea Pearls were embedded in the shield, supplying the Coral inside with Spiritual Mechanism.
With a flick of his hand, Yang Jing brought Iron Head out from his Inner World.
"Iron Head, do you recognize this thing?"
’For this Seven-Color Coral to make a Golden Core Cultivator stay put and guard it, it must be a rare treasure. Perhaps it’s an Exotic Treasure like the Immortal Vine Gourd.’
Iron Head’s eyes widened as he carefully examined the Seven-Color Coral.
"Master, this Coral looks a bit like the legendary Xuyu Coral. This Coral bears five Coral Fruits every thousand years. The first one you eat increases your lifespan by sixty years, the second by thirty years, and the third by ten years."
After becoming a True Disciple, he had often gone to the Library Main Pavilion to look through the Jade Scrolls that recorded Pill Formulas and Pharmacology. He vaguely remembered seeing a record of the Xuyu Coral on one of them.
However, the Jade Scroll only had a sketch of the Xuyu Coral, so Iron Head wasn’t completely sure that this was it.
"It has to be. Only a life-extending Spiritual Object like this could trap a Golden Core Demon Cultivator in this cage that’s only a few li wide."
Yang Jing’s eyes gleamed as he gazed at the Xuyu Coral.
"Look at this Coral. Its main branches have already borne five Coral Fruits, but they haven’t fully ripened yet."
A Spiritual Object that could extend one’s lifespan was always considered top-tier in the Nine Heavens World. Even a Spiritual Object that only added ten years of life would be fought over by Nascent Soul Cultivators, driving the price to astronomical heights, to say nothing of the Coral Fruits of the Xuyu Coral, which could grant a hundred years of life in total.
With that extra century, many Nascent Soul Stage Cultivators might be able to live long enough to see their descendants achieve Nascent Soul Formation, ensuring their family’s prestige would not decline.
Yang Jing let out a slow breath. He was still young and had more than enough lifespan, but with the Coral Fruits from this Xuyu Coral, he might be able to trade for the Ten Thousand Years Divine Wood he needed.
He never even considered trading the entire Xuyu Coral. That was simply not something a Golden Core Cultivator could offer. Its value was so high that even Nascent Soul Cultivators would struggle to produce a comparable treasure in exchange. There was a high probability they would just cast aside all pretense and take it by force.
In fact, even trading just the Coral Fruits was extremely risky. Yang Jing planned to only use them for a trade as a last resort.
But all of this depended on him first successfully transplanting the Xuyu Coral into his Inner World.
Although this Xuyu Coral had already borne Coral Fruits, they were not yet fully ripe.
