Chapter 698: Chapter 698: I Want to Give You a Grand Wedding
She knew that this man was still holding a grudge about her escaping the wedding back then, so she deliberately avoided mentioning it. She didn’t expect he was indeed harboring a resentment!
After listening to her explanation, Noah Drexler still frowned, lowering his gaze to look at her.
His handsome face remained serious at this moment.
Seeing this, Summer Shawcross thought to herself that this was not good, realizing she had said the wrong thing. She then forced a smile and continued speaking.
"Besides, we should look forward now. There’s no need to dwell on the past."
The thoughts on her face were seen through by Noah Drexler’s sharp eyes right away.
"Is that what the old man meant?" he asked her calmly, his deep eyes tinged with a bit of surprise.
Realizing her thoughts were seen through, Summer paused, then sighed and gently nodded, explaining softly.
"I’m sorry, I was afraid you wouldn’t agree, so I didn’t say it directly..."
Her soft voice made Noah Drexler’s gaze soften a bit, subconsciously raising his hand, his long fingers gently sliding over her reddened eyes, his handsome face full of emotion.
A moment later, he swallowed and seriously said to her.
"Summer Shawcross, I want to make up for you with a grand wedding."
If she truly wanted to have a complete wedding, he would want to give her the best, a grand wedding that the whole world would know about!
Not like now, a hurriedly arranged wedding.
Hearing his deep voice, Summer was momentarily stunned, then shook her head, reaching out to hold his hand on her face, and seriously said to him.
"I don’t want a grand wedding, I just want us to live like a normal couple in the future."
Her wish now was simple, no longer yearning for anything dramatic, she just wanted to live peacefully with him in the future, and that would be enough.
After she finished speaking, Noah Drexler’s gaze flickered. He reversed his hand, holding hers tightly, looking intently at her fair little face, lost in thought.
"Young Master, Young Madam!" At this moment, the always-busy Butler Ye rushed over to them, panting as he spoke.
"The wedding venue is being set up. Please go change your clothes first!"
Upon hearing the butler’s words, Summer quickly turned to look at Noah Drexler, her fair little face full of nervousness.
Just as she bit her lip, ready to plead with him to help fulfill the old man’s wish, the man suddenly took her hand and turned to continue walking forward.
Seeing her standing there stunned, he frowned and looked at her.
"Not going?"
Summer was momentarily perplexed, then hurriedly followed his steps, heading towards the banquet hall together.
...
In the room on the second floor of the banquet hall.
Summer changed into that pure white wedding dress.
Although it had been preserved for decades, it still looked just like new.
Standing in front of the mirror, a servant bent down to straighten her wedding dress’s train.
She lifted her head, looking at herself in the mirror in a daze, her eyes drawn to the white wedding dress she wore.
Though the style was decades old, it looked somewhat vintage yet still very beautiful, and the style was relatively conservative too. Though the long dress was strapless, it perfectly showcased her lovely collarbones while keeping the chest well covered.
