Chapter 669: Chapter 669: Do I Look Like I’m Here to Cause Trouble?

Just as she imagined, Noah Drexler’s suit was still too large for her; not only could it be worn as a long coat, but even the sleeves extended an extra length.

Summer Shawcross couldn’t be bothered to find more clothes, so she rolled up the sleeves and, wearing his suit like this, swaggered out of the bedroom.

...

Before long, Summer Shawcross arrived at the doorway of a bedroom on another floor.

She had just arrived when she saw Butler Ye dozing off, stationed by the doorway of the room.

Seeing her come, he was startled.

"Young Madam, why are you here?" Butler Ye asked suspiciously.

"I’m here to see the old man." Summer paused before replying.

Noah Drexler’s people had brought Old Mr. Drexler back from the hospital a few hours ago, and logically, he should be waking up soon, so she came to check on him.

But unexpectedly, as soon as Summer finished speaking, Butler Ye’s expression turned to alarmed, wary, and then helpless.

"Young Madam, the doctors said that Mr. Drexler doesn’t have much time left. Please... let him be, and don’t dwell on past grievances," Butler Ye sighed and advised Summer.

Butler Ye’s reaction left Summer stunned and somewhat bewildered.

"Do you honestly think I came here in the middle of the night to seek revenge?" She looked at Butler Ye speechlessly, suddenly at a loss between laughter and tears.

"Isn’t that so?" Butler Ye asked her back with a face full of agreement.

Everyone knew that the Young Madam despised Mr. Drexler before and never said a kind word to him. Now that Mr. Drexler was on his deathbed, how would she kindly come to see him?

Summer was stunned by his question.

"Do I look like I’m here to do something bad?" She bit her lip, at a loss for words.

When she asked this, Butler Ye seriously scrutinized Summer from head to toe and then nodded affirmatively.

"Yes!"

He was part of The Drexler Family, and it was the first time he’d seen someone wear a suit over a dress, roll up the sleeves, and pair it with slippers... indeed looking like they were up to no good!

"..."

Summer felt her chest tighten, suddenly feeling like she wanted to spit blood from frustration.

Seeing her silent, Butler Ye assumed he was right and hurriedly began to persuade her earnestly, pleading.

"Young Madam, let Mr. Drexler quietly spend his remaining days. He poses no threat to you or the Young Master now."

Summer’s expression changed slightly, momentarily unsure of how to explain.

"I’m really not here to take revenge on him, I swear..." She sighed.

But even after her explanation, the vigilance on Butler Ye’s face did not diminish in the slightest; he still stood blocking the door, preventing her from entering.

Seeing this, Summer felt helpless. So she decided to explain seriously.

"Mr. Drexler was injured saving me. Although I’ve always disliked him, I’m not someone who can’t differentiate between gratitude and grudges!"

Hearing her words, disbelief appeared on Butler Ye’s face.

"Mr. Drexler saved you?" Butler Ye asked Summer, almost unable to believe it.

Only the bodyguards knew what happened last night; as a butler, he didn’t know much of the specifics, only that Miss Duval had injured Mr. Drexler.

But he never imagined that Mr. Drexler got injured while saving Summer...

Summer nodded and then truthfully said.

"Yes, I just want to see how he’s doing. The doctors said he doesn’t have much time left and that we should try our best to fulfill his wishes."
