[You have acquired 13,201 points as a reward for progressing through Dawn of the Dead.]
I hadn’t even accumulated 50,000 points yet, and I had already prepared everything in advance, so I immediately clicked on the next zombie title.
’This time, I should go to Resident Evil.’
Resident Evil had many viruses to collect, and there was Jill Valentine.
It was a world I had always wanted to visit at least once.
[Avatar is being created.]
Leon S. Kennedy
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Characteristics: His parents were murdered in connection with a terrible crime, and he nearly died himself, but survived thanks to an unknown police officer who gave his life to save him. After that, he became a police officer to save as many people as possible. He has a strong sense of justice, but his luck is poor, so he gets caught up in various incidents.
Starting Point: Resident Evil 2
Jill Valentine
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Characteristics: French-Japanese mixed race, with a direct and competitive personality. Though she appears slender, she has excellent combat abilities, having experienced Delta Force training. She has a strong sense of adventure and was influenced by her father being a notorious thief, which led her to apply to S.T.A.R.S.
Starting Point: Resident Evil 1
Go directly.
Setting: 22-year-old S.T.A.R.S. member.
Starting Point: Resident Evil 0
This time, I wanted to tweak the settings a bit.
I wasn’t about to have something happen right from the start again.
Setting: 22-year-old S.T.A.R.S. member. Engineer and weapons specialist. Heir to a wealthy family and an orphan. Owns a Chicago mansion and a rental house in Raccoon City. Holds licenses for cars, helicopters, and yachts. Owns a custom Rezvani Vengeance vehicle. Builds tanks as a hobby.
Starting Point: Resident Evil 0, one month prior, on a 2-week vacation.
(Points: -2875)
It seemed points were spent, likely because the custom Rezvani Vengeance vehicle ownership didn’t quite fit the reality of the setting.
Given that Resident Evil 0 is set in 1998, this was somewhat unavoidable.
The Rezvani Vengeance is a vehicle released in 2023.
And since Raccoon City was destined to be destroyed, I decided to keep my main base in Chicago and have a rental house in Raccoon City.
I also added the setting of being an engineer and building tanks as a hobby.
That way, I could use the tank without raising any suspicion.
’There are plenty of people in America with hobbies like building cars or tanks, so it should be fine.’
[Proceed with these settings?]
"Yes."
This time too, my vision warped for a moment, and the surroundings changed.
It appeared to be the interior of a house, reflecting the fact that I was on vacation.
’Chicago, huh. My assets are around 300 billion won...’
The mansion wasn’t very large, but it was a house in a wealthy neighborhood of Chicago.
And because I had a yacht license, although I hadn’t wanted one, I also owned a 50-foot sailing yacht (a wind-powered yacht) of a decent size.
’Sailing yachts are tiring... well, whatever.’
I immediately created a space in the mansion’s basement that only I could access, and connected an AI laptop to the internet to manage my assets.
I set the target asset goal at 1 trillion won to maintain, and then organized and input the major events of Resident Evil.
That way, I wouldn’t invest in useless places.
Then I checked my firearms.
The guns I would use this time were the Yukimura, the Origin shotgun, and the Mallorian Arms 3516 I had used in Cyberpunk.
Since the Resident Evil universe features not only zombies but also various creatures, I chose firepower-focused firearms over magazine capacity.
I didn’t worry much about ammunition or supplies.
Unlike other zombie worlds, this world wasn’t a global zombie apocalypse.
The government was still functioning normally, and the zombie outbreaks were only in certain areas, so I could buy ammunition and supplies as needed.
Besides, I had a huge amount of ammunition left over from Dawn of the Dead.
Once preparations were complete, I stepped outside.
The Rezvani Vengeance was parked in the mansion’s driveway, but it wasn’t the version I had prepared, so I replaced everything except the license plate.
’But I don’t see the tank.’

It was strange that I couldn’t find the tank, even though I had set tank-building as a hobby.
But thinking about it, since my job was in Raccoon City, it was likely the tank was there too.
So I decided to check it out later in Raccoon City, and for the time being, I focused on enjoying my vacation.
During my vacation, I frequented casinos in Chicago or charmed women to join me on the yacht for swimming and leisurely time in the sea.
Then, two days before my return, I properly secured the yacht and house in Chicago, drove the Rezvani Vengeance, and arrived at the rental house in Raccoon City.
The rental house was a small two-story building a bit outside the city.
It had a yard and a workshop.
As expected, the workshop had a homemade tank, but it was very crudely made.
The cannon on the turret was also non-functional, just a mock-up for show.
It looked exactly like a tank someone had tinkered with at home as a hobby.
Vroom! Rattle, rattle...
"It does move..."
I was originally going to scrap this tank, but I felt it was a waste to just get rid of it, so I started modifying it.
It wasn’t a major overhaul.
Just replacing the engine with a more powerful diesel engine, reinforcing the armor plates for better protection, and replacing the fake cannon with a 12.7mm heavy machine gun.
’I’ll have to spend the rest of the time modifying this.’
The vacation flew by as I organized the house and modified the tank.
Back at the Raccoon City Police Department, I paused for a moment.
I had been in and out of this place countless times while playing the original games, so I knew the layout blindfolded, but I was only familiar with it as a ruin ravaged by the zombie outbreak.
Seeing a functioning police station filled with laughter and bustling footsteps felt strangely unfamiliar and awkward.
I first went to my locker, found my name, and opened it.
Inside, I found a bulletproof vest and a ’Samurai Edge’ in a belt holster.
The Samurai Edge is a custom pistol based on the Beretta M92FS, customized for S.T.A.R.S. by ’Joe Kendo’ (S.T.A.R.S. instructor).
’I was wondering why it wasn’t at home. It was here.’
I put on the bulletproof vest and holster, duplicated the Samurai Edge, put one in my inventory as a collector’s item, and kept the other on me as I went up to the second floor of the police station.
"Jin, long time no see. Good vacation?"
"Jin, welcome back! Did you have fun? Where’s my souvenir?"
"Vacation? He probably just spent the whole time building that tank again."
As I entered the S.T.A.R.S. office, people I didn’t recognize welcomed me warmly.
"Sorry, I literally just built a tank and came back. But I’ll buy lunch today."
When I said that, everyone cheered.
"Oh~ Jin’s treating us? Nice. I just saw a new pizza place opened in front of the station. Let’s go there. The college girl working there is amazing."
"Are you going for the pizza or the girl?"
"Both, obviously!"
"Hah... honestly..."
S.T.A.R.S., simply put, is the Special Tactics and Rescue Service unit belonging to the Raccoon City Police Department.
Its official name is Special Tactics And Rescue Service, but it’s usually abbreviated to S.T.A.R.S.
Its main duties include performing tactical missions such as counter-terrorism and civilian rescue operations in dangerous situations.
Recruits were selected from volunteers within the Raccoon City Police Department and through external recommendations and scouting.
This included both military and civilian backgrounds.
Because of this, the dress code was also quite flexible.
I sat down at my designated seat, listening to my colleagues’ conversations and confirming their names one by one.
I could roughly guess who they were from their appearances, but I didn’t want to risk making a mistake.
I also made sure to secretly copy a S.T.A.R.S. group photo that included me and store it in my inventory.
’Since I’m here, I should collect what I can as souvenirs.’
At that moment, a beautiful woman with short brown hair opened the office door and walked in.
A familiar face.
I recognized her at once as Jill Valentine, one of the protagonists of Resident Evil.
’She’s certainly a beauty.’
Jill spotted me, walked over in a single step, slapped me on the shoulder, and greeted me cheerfully.
"Jin, did you enjoy your vacation? You were just building a tank again, weren’t you?"
"Yeah, I spent the whole time building a tank."
"When are you going to finish that thing? Haven’t you been building it for three years?"
"It’s almost done."
"Jin, you know you said the same thing a year ago, right?"
"Ahaha, did I?"
We seemed to be on good terms.
’The start is good.’

At that moment, a man wearing sunglasses with a stiff demeanor entered the office and spoke.
"Jin is back from vacation too. Everyone knows we have shooting training today, right? Have your personal firearms ready and assemble in the parking lot in 30 minutes."
He left after a brief announcement.
I looked at his back and immediately recognized him.
He was definitely ’Albert Wesker.’
Outwardly, he is the commanding officer of S.T.A.R.S., but in truth, he is an Umbrella researcher and covert operative, and one of the core masterminds behind all the conspiracies in the Resident Evil series.
’Can I get his autograph?’
Actually, I liked Jill Valentine, but I was also a fan of Albert Wesker.
He consistently ranked high in popularity polls for the Resident Evil series, and his popularity was so high that he appeared in crossovers with other games.
’Can’t resist a mastermind in sunglasses.’
We were checking our firearms in preparation for the shooting training when a young, athletic-looking member with a sports haircut came rushing into the office.
"Sorry I’m late. We have shooting training today, right?"
"Yeah, so hurry up and get ready."
He was the famously gorilla-like ’Chris Redfield.’
He was called a gorilla because of his superhuman strength, though whether it was due to a virus or just his natural build was unclear.
Anyway, we assembled in the parking lot, boarded a police tactical vehicle, and headed to a training ground on the outskirts of the city, where tactical shooting training began.
Looking around, there was no sign of the Bravo Team.
It seemed training was conducted alternately by team, with one team on standby for immediate deployment while the other trained.
"3 minutes 21 seconds. A new record. Your shooting form was excellent, and you hit the targets accurately."
After I finished my tactical shooting with the Samurai Edge, Wesker looked at the timer and spoke.
The other members were amazed.
"Wow... that’s impressive? Has Jin always been that good at shooting?"
"He beat Chris’s previous record by 20 seconds."
"That guy must have been practicing shooting the whole vacation."
"I thought he was just building a tank?"
"Ah, that scrap heap? He’s still working on that?"
Wesker then spoke.
"Everyone quiet. Next is Jill Valentine. Prepare."
At that, Jill stood up and walked to the shooting range.
"You seem to be in good form today."
Jill said as she swapped places with me.
Her face clearly showed her determination to win.
Her competitive spirit was burning bright.
"Jill Valentine, 3 minutes 42 seconds."
"Ah... I felt good, too."
"Don’t be disappointed, Jill. You still set a personal best. Next is Barry Burton."
Jill grumbled as she sat down next to me, disappointed that she had still been significantly behind me despite setting a personal best.
I offered her some words of consolation.
"I think I was just in better form than you today. Next time, I won’t be able to beat you."
"Don’t say that. It just makes me madder. I won’t lose next time!"
It seemed to have backfired.
I should have just stayed quiet.
"Chris Redfield, 3 minutes 40 seconds. Everyone did well today. This is a very good sign. That concludes today’s shooting training. Return to the station, have your meals, and thoroughly clean and maintain your firearms."
After training ended, we cleaned up, returned to the police station, and went to the pizza place as promised.
"Wow, the employee really is a beauty."
"Right?"
"Speaking of women, there’s that new recruit who joined Bravo Team as a medic. What was her name again?"
"Ah, you mean Rebecca Chambers?"
"Yeah, Rebecca Chambers. She’s really cute, isn’t she?"
"I thought she looked a bit too young, not really my type. How old is she?"
"She graduated from college before joining, so she’s probably early 20s?"
"No, I heard she graduated early, so she’s 18."
"Wow... a genius."
"Plus, she’s athletic, I heard she joined the police basketball team."
"Really? Then maybe I should join the basketball team too?"
"Don’t bother. A lot of guys are after her; you’d have to line up. And there’s a big age difference."
"Age doesn’t matter in love."
"Man, that’s dangerous talk. You’re a cop!"
At the pizza place, the conversation was all about Rebecca Chambers, who had recently joined Bravo Team.

I also wanted to see her in person.
Rebecca is the protagonist of Resident Evil 0 and an excellent medic, one of the few people to survive the Raccoon City incident.
She continues her virus research afterward and provides significant assistance to key characters in various incidents.
What’s also interesting is that in the original, you can find a photo of Rebecca Chambers in a basketball uniform on Albert Wesker’s desk.
This led to jokes and speculation among fans for a long time, wondering if Wesker had his eye on Rebecca.
This speculation gained some credibility thanks to the ’Wesker Mode’ added to the HD Remaster of Resident Evil 0.
In that mode, you play alongside Wesker with his Resident Evil 5 model, and Rebecca appears with a P30 device—the same one Wesker used to brainwash Jill in Resident Evil 5—attached to her chest.
Her eyes are also changed to have the same red glow as Wesker’s, as if she’s been brainwashed.
It’s unclear why this was included, but it led fans to accept this speculation as almost canon.
Of course, I thought it was an interesting setting, but the current Wesker is 38 years old and Rebecca is 18.
With a 20-year age gap, I personally thought it was a bit much.
’Wesker, you bastard... I’ll be sure to take good care of that photo for you.’
