Chapter 1070: Chapter 1070: I Didn’t Pay for You to Date at School

Kai Jacobs looked at the pile of books stacked by the table and asked Stella Charlie, "Are you moving out to live?"

Stella Charlie paused for a moment and nodded, saying, "Yeah."

She might be a bit of an ostrich, wanting to escape those conflicts.

The only place she could go was the apartment Vincent Warner had promised to rent to her before.

The unfinished cake, Kai Jacobs packed back into the box for Stella Charlie to take home.

Thanks to Kai Jacobs’ help, Stella Charlie was able to move those heavy books back to the rental.

When they parted ways at the entrance of the community, Stella Charlie saw a familiar car drive down from the garage passage.

Is he back too?

Stella Charlie had just walked into the community building when she saw the elevator doors in the lobby open, and Vincent Warner was standing inside, as if waiting for her...

It seems he had seen her just now too.

Looking at the books Stella Charlie was carrying, Vincent Warner didn’t extend his hand to help.

His gaze glanced at the cake box on top of the books, and he closed the elevator doors without a word.

Vincent Warner’s silence inexplicably made Stella Charlie uneasy, making her feel as if she had done something to upset him.

She wanted to try finding a topic to talk about, but the words couldn’t muster the courage to come out.

When the elevator arrived at the floor, Vincent Warner was the first to step out.

Stella Charlie lingered in the elevator briefly, then adjusted the books in her hand and followed after.

She could feel that Vincent Warner was in a bad mood, but she didn’t know if it had anything to do with her.

She carefully placed the books she was holding in the corner of the cabinet by the door.

"Not living at school anymore?" Vincent Warner changed his shoes, standing in the entrance, and asked.

For a moment, Stella Charlie didn’t understand what Vincent Warner meant by that, worried he might regret and not want her to move in.

Just then, she saw Vincent Warner turn and walk toward the living room, muttering to himself, "Moving back is fine, the room’s empty anyway."

Hearing this, Stella Charlie finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Vincent Warner sat on the living room sofa and then asked, "Why did you suddenly decide to move back?"

Stella Charlie lowered her head to change her shoes, quietly explaining, "...A girl in the dorm snores, I don’t sleep well."

After changing shoes, Stella Charlie picked up the books to go to her room but suddenly stopped when Vincent Warner asked, "Who was the guy that brought you back just now?"

Stella Charlie paused in her tracks: "Just the senior who helped me before, saw I had many books, and helped me move them here."

"I’m funding your education, not for you to have a romance at school."

Stella Charlie’s back tensed, quickly explaining, "I understand, but you seem to misunderstand, I’m not really familiar with him, it’s not anything like what you think."

"It’s good if you’re not, just a heads-up."

"Click—" The lighter lit the cigarette at Vincent Warner’s lips, Stella Charlie felt he seemed troubled but felt she wasn’t qualified to ask.

She just silently carried her books back to her room.

After moving out from school, Stella Charlie indeed felt life was much quieter.

Vincent Warner only appeared that one night and then was missing for days.

Kai Jacobs had been showing up a bit more frequently recently, Stella Charlie felt comfortable interacting with him, without any romantic feelings.

In moments of feeling isolated and unsupported, Stella Charlie cherished Kai Jacobs as a friend.

Whether in life or study, Kai Jacobs had helped her a lot.

But she often wondered why Kai Jacobs, a person with such a cold and slow-to-warm personality, would take the initiative to approach her?
