Chapter 1038: Chapter 1038: Don’t Scold Him Anymore

The next day, Vanessa Sterling didn’t wake up from her dream until after ten in the morning.

She could still recall the beautiful scenes from her dream, and after reminiscing for a bit, she suddenly remembered that she had indeed agreed to be with Miles Sterling last night.

The sunlight outside was gentle, and it seemed like a nice weather day.

The house was quiet, and there was no noise outside; everything seemed ordinary.

Picking up her phone, she found an unusually large number of unread messages.

Vanessa immediately noticed an unread text message mixed in with over ten WhatsApp messages.

Miles Sterling hadn’t added her on WhatsApp, so upon seeing the text messages, Vanessa naturally opened these two messages first.

One was sent at around seven in the morning: Are you awake? What do you want for breakfast?

Vanessa usually woke up around seven, but because she went to bed too late last night, she ended up sleeping until now.

The other message was sent just ten minutes ago: Your little assistant doesn’t seem too welcoming towards me. I’ll come back once you’re awake.

Vanessa didn’t know what had happened, but she could already imagine Yvonne giving Miles a hard time.

Sure enough, as soon as she opened WhatsApp, she saw Yvonne venting to her.

Teacher Sterling, are you awake?

Guess what I just saw?

That jerk actually came to stake out at the shop entrance!

When I went to open the door, he was standing right there, looking all sneaky, hardly seemed like a decent person!

Oh my god, he actually came to bring you breakfast?!

Is he really trying to pursue you? 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

There’s definitely something wrong with that breakfast—make sure you don’t eat it!

That jerk has some nerve; he just stayed there and wouldn’t leave.

Teacher Sterling, don’t come downstairs just yet; I’ll deal with him!

Teacher Sterling, I managed to make him leave, you can safely come down now.

This long string of messages continued from a little after seven in the morning until ten minutes ago.

Vanessa then realized that a lot had probably happened while she was asleep.

When Vanessa finished getting ready and went downstairs, she saw classes being conducted methodically in several rooms.

She found Yvonne in the office, grading homework for the kids.

"Teacher Sterling? Did you see the messages I sent you?"

Vanessa nodded, and before she could speak, Yvonne exaggeratedly said to her, "You wouldn’t believe how shameless that jerk is; he lingered in the lobby for a long time. While I was tidying up and cursing at him, he probably couldn’t stand it anymore, and that’s why he finally left."

Vanessa couldn’t help but be curious, "What did you curse at him about?"

"Hehe, I just said whatever came to mind. Wasted more than an hour of my time, didn’t even finish grading the homework."

Vanessa sat opposite Yvonne, took some ungraded homework, and while helping to grade it, said, "You shouldn’t curse at him anymore."

"He came asking for it! If he doesn’t come, I naturally wouldn’t curse at him!"

Vanessa pursed her lips and said, "...I already agreed to be with him."

Yvonne’s hand stopped while writing comments as she gaped in disbelief for two seconds, initially thinking she misheard, "What did you say? You agreed to be with him?! As his girlfriend?!!"

Vanessa nodded, "...Yeah."

Yvonne stood up and felt Vanessa’s forehead, "Did you overheat your brain or did he bewitch you? Someone like him..."

Before Yvonne could finish her sentence, Vanessa’s phone on the table rang, and a new text message popped up on the screen: Not up yet? You must be hungry, right?
