Chapter 1037: Chapter 1037: I Will Remember Those Pain and Hate for a Lifetime

The wind softly ruffled their clothes, swaying them in a similar rhythm and cadence.

Vanessa Sterling hesitated for a long time, as if she had a lot to say but didn’t know how to express it.

Miles Sterling waited nervously yet patiently.

A car’s headlights swept across the road, the vehicle quickly speeding through the empty street, and soon the street returned to silence.

The fast-moving lights broke the stalemate between the two of them.

Vanessa Sterling took a deep breath, looked up at Miles Sterling, her voice hoarse and trembling yet carrying a hint of firmness: "...I’m willing to try being with you, just this once."

Miles Sterling, surprised, then smiled, feeling a great relief, and excitedly pulled Vanessa Sterling into his arms.

He had so much to say, but it all got stuck in his throat, manifesting as the strength in his arms, holding Vanessa Sterling ever tighter.

Vanessa Sterling did not raise her arms to hug Miles Sterling back, and at this moment, she discarded all the chaotic thoughts from her mind.

No thinking about the past, nor about the future.

This madness, perhaps only once in a lifetime.

"I’m sorry for loving you the wrong way in the past, and I’m grateful that you’re giving me this chance again."

Vanessa Sterling took a deep breath and said, "...This chance is for the Miles Sterling of now; it doesn’t mean I’ve forgiven the Miles Sterling of the past. I’ll remember that hate and pain forever."

Miles Sterling wrapped her cold little hand, looked down at her, and said, "Standing before you is a completely new Miles Sterling. Let him erase the pain and hate in your heart from now on."

Vanessa Sterling’s hand clenched into a fist in Miles Sterling’s warm palm, and listening to his promise, unease still lingered.

Miles Sterling tentatively held Vanessa Sterling’s lower back, pulling her closer. Her reaction was slow, her expression still vacant.

Seeing no obvious resistance from her, Miles Sterling leaned in.

Vanessa Sterling felt his warm breath on her face, snapping her back to reality. She instinctively leaned back slightly to dodge, but couldn’t avoid Miles Sterling.

The moment their lips met, Vanessa Sterling’s entire body stiffened, her mind went blank, her eyelashes quivering as she looked at the enlarged face before her, then slowly closed her eyes.

Miles Sterling kissed with caution, unprecedented tenderness.

The kiss deepened, and whether from shyness or lack of air, Vanessa Sterling’s cheeks turned crimson.

When they pulled apart, Vanessa Sterling was already out of breath.

Miles Sterling looked at her, and suddenly smiled.

Hearing Miles Sterling’s laughter, Vanessa Sterling, who was still daydreaming, suddenly lowered her head in embarrassment.

Recalling what had happened in those few minutes, it all felt unreal to her, something she wouldn’t even dare to dream.

"It’s late... get some rest." With those words, Vanessa Sterling hurriedly turned to open the shop door, never daring to raise her eyes to look at Miles Sterling.

Miles Sterling stood outside the door, smiling at Vanessa Sterling as she prepared to close the door, saying, "See you tomorrow morning."

Vanessa Sterling’s action of closing the door paused, she glanced hurriedly at Miles Sterling, said nothing, and then shut the door, turning to run upstairs.

Back on her bed, Vanessa Sterling’s heart was still in turmoil.

But unlike before, now she was thinking about how to face Miles Sterling tomorrow morning, and how to explain it to Yvonne?

Yvonne would certainly tease her, or scold her for agreeing to a jerk like Miles Sterling.

Actually, she hadn’t figured it out herself, just that she could clearly feel that Miles Sterling now was completely different from the past.

When facing him, her heart also experienced a sensation that never existed before.

Besides the tension and anxiety, there was also a hint of anticipation.

She felt like she had been brainwashed by Yvonne’s analysis during that period. Is this feeling really love?
