Chapter 192: Chapter 192) Couldn’t defeat her.
{Many days later}
Anastasia aka Clara’s pov,
Gathered around the sparring stage were my newly appointed warriors, who were ready to set off to the border with me to join the battle.
It has been some days, and the attack received against the werewolves’ packs, including my Shadows’ pack and the Diamond-heart city, was concerning.
It was clear. Black shadow must have healed himself of the affliction I caused him, and was gaining more power.
And if he was not stopped, it was very possible that the whole world was going to get more devastating than it had already become.
"I hope you are victorious today. Or, you might never get the chance to spare with me like this". I said to Caden and Chase, who had just shifted into their wolves’ forms.
Their bodies were covered with light scars, which were yet to fully heal.
Those scars were evidence of the fight we had been going about for days.
"I am setting off to the border today. And, I am sure you will regret it if you don’t succeed before I leave". I added.
"Don’t worry, Alpha Anastasia. I will be victorious this time". Caden declared.
"And so do I". Chase added.
"Very well, then". I said, then shifted into my wolf form with a deep growl, which echoed in the far distance.
I would not lie, Caden and Chase have been getting stronger. But, they were not the only ones who had been advancing.
That was because I had taken my powers to the next level and knew that I was ready to take black shadow head on in a battle.
And I knew for sure that I was going to win against him.
"Both of you, come at me!". I declared, and after exchanging glances at each other, they launched at me.
Before I could pounce on Chase and pin him down to the ground, he changed course and went behind me, while Caden remained in front of me, ready to unleash his claws against me.
’Ah. I see what is going on here. What a smart and thoughtful move. But, it’s not enough to stop me’. I thought to myself with a grin, as I countered their attacks head on.
Seeing that their plot had failed, they regrouped, but I did not leave them any spare time to reunite with themselves.
My paws pounced on the stage, again and again, until it began to tremble and made them lose a bit of their balance.
At that moment, I played a new trick which I had learned and had perfected over the past few days.
The calm voice was the one that taught the trick to me when I changed spots with Elektra and went to the empty abyss.
So, I decided to make use of the skill now.
I have named it... ’The swirling werewolf dance’.
I spun, but with my eyes maintaining contact with my opponents’ position.
"What- what is she doing?". Chase asked, and I could see the confidence he once had, gradually begin to fade away.
"Focus, Chase! Don’t get distracted by what she is doing! We must land an attack on her! Both of us!". Caden scolded him, thus bringing him back to his senses.
I saw them launch against me at the same time, but that was a big mistake, because they had underestimated the power behind the swirling werewolf dance.
Before they could touch me, I jumped some meters in the air and...
{Ting!} My sharp claws revealed themselves, before I landed back on the ground, and... {swoosh!}
At the speed of light, my claws slashed their forelegs, and they collapsed to the ground.
Chase was determined and tried to force himself back up, but I pinned him and Caden to the ground. "This fight is over". I said.
The atmosphere was tense for a few seconds, before the warriors began to mutter to themselves.
Even though their voices were low, I was able to hear their voices easily, because of my heightened hearing ability.
"Who else noticed that our Alpha had gotten a lot more scary than what she used to be some days ago?".
"I did".
"Me too".
"Me three".
"But..." someone sighed, then continued to say, "If you were in our Alpha’s shoes, what were you going to do? The world has gotten a lot more scary than what it used to be, and everyone is literally looking up to our Alpha to set things right".
The same person added. It was a female. "It’s no surprise that our Alpha has toughened up. In an actual sense, we ought to train like her and be like her, if we want to stand the chance of ever bringing those bastards to an end".
’Well said’. I thought, before I let go of Caden and Chase and shifted into my human form.
Before Caden and Chase could shift to their human forms, I made sure to heal their legs. But despite that, after they returned to their human forms, they remained sitting on the floor for a few seconds, before they got up to their feet.
Their faces were sour and gloomy. They were not happy that they had failed yet again to land a strike against me.
If only they knew the kind of training I was going through.
If only they knew the responsibility I shouldered. And just because they were my little brothers, did not mean that I should go easy on them. That was something I could never do, if they ever wanted to stand a chance of surviving this world.
I placed my hands on their shoulders.
"It is going to be alright, okay?". I said to them and caressed their cheeks as they reluctantly nodded at me.
"Come on. Let’s get you back to your Mom. I need to set off for the border with my warriors". I said and turned, but before I could take a step away from them, someone grabbed and held my hand.
When I turned to the person, I saw that it was Caden.
He shook his head at me. "Please, we want to go with you to the border, sister".
