Chapter 2448: Chapter 2451: Wait a Little Longer, Then We’ll Take Them Down
Edge of the Forsaken Plains.
"Young Master, someone is following us."
Yan Hu glanced back, speaking in a low voice.
"Hmm."
Jiang Chen nodded slightly, clearly aware of the person tracking them from behind.
"Captain Jin Hu."
Jiang Chen turned around to look at Jin Hu, spoke with a light smile: "Originally we wanted to trouble Captain Jin Hu to take us together into the trial, but now it seems, we must part ways."
"Brother Jiang, you were targeted due to us, we can’t just leave like this!"
Upon hearing this, Jin Hu spoke urgently.
If not for Jiang Chen helping them out which exposed the connection with the Forsaken Tavern, Zhang Chuzhi wouldn’t have sought out Jiang Chen. At the root of it, this grudge was formed because of Jin Hu’s group of four.
"Indeed, Brother Jiang, we can’t abandon loyalty like this!"
"Brother Jiang, please take us along with you!"
"Yes, with us around, we won’t let anything happen to you."
The other three members of the Jin Ge adventure team spoke up with persuasion.
Jiang Chen smiled slightly, feeling a warm flow in his heart. Adventure teams usually operate primarily on interests, such loyalty is rare.
However, this was only true for Jin Hu, as for the other three...
Jiang Chen glanced at the three others of the Jin Ge adventure team, a deep look emerging in his eyes.
"Alright, then we’ll trouble Captain Jin Hu."
Jiang Chen didn’t refuse further, lightly agreed.
Without more words, the five turned and headed into the Forsaken Plains.
Whiz whiz!
Just as Jiang Chen’s group left, a silhouette darted out from the Forsaken Town, arriving next to two cultivators seemingly resting at the edge of the Plains.
"Have they gone in?"
Chen Kang glanced once at the direction of the Forsaken Plains and turned to look at the two cultivators.
"Captain, they’ve gone in."
The two cultivators responded in a low voice.
"Hmph! Nosy kid, since you want to die, this Captain will grant your wish. I even toyed with Jin Long to death, can’t I handle you two?"
Chen Kang snorted coldly, turned back to the Forsaken Town without ordering anyone to follow Jiang Chen’s group.
Within the Forsaken Plains.
Across the vast plains, teams of cultivators head deeper into the plains, with wars erupting occasionally along the way.
From above, it can be seen that the entire plain spans tens of thousands of miles; the central ten thousand miles are shrouded in a layer of gray death qi. The deeper in, the denser the death qi becomes; at the very center, visibility becomes impossible.
Currently, the edges of that death qi are gathering teams of cultivators, but they seem apprehensive about something, as no one has yet entered the denser areas of death qi.
"The Necrotic Tide within the Forsaken Plains is triggered when a powerful Necro Spirit awakens. The awakening of a Necro Spirit signifies the spirit of a king; although Necro Spirits have lost Spiritual Intelligence, they retain their basic consciousness. Therefore, whenever a super-powerful being passes away and transforms into a Necro Spirit, an eruption occurs across the Forsaken Plains!"
At the outer reaches of the plains, as Jiang Chen and the others hurried on their way, Jin Hu introduced the Forsaken Plains.
Though some information was included in the data that Old Jin gave him, Jiang Chen still listened quietly. Information is information, but practice is practice; no matter how comprehensive the data, it still needs experience for validation. Jin Hu and his group, living off the Forsaken Plains, likely knew more details not included in written records.
"Necro Spirits?"
Yan Hu showed a hint of confusion in his eyes, glanced around, but didn’t ask further. He was used to it, used to standing behind Jiang Chen without needing explanations for every mystery, only following Jiang Chen’s orders to ensure his safety.
"Brother Yan Hu doesn’t know about Necro Spirits? The creation of Necro Spirits results from..."
Jin Hu looked at Yan Hu in surprise, about to explain.
"Captain Jin Hu, Hu Zi doesn’t mean that."
Jiang Chen spoke softly, interrupting Jin Hu.
"Necro Spirits primarily reside within the inner and central parts of the Plains; the deeper in, the stronger their combat power and the higher their pre-death level."
Turning to Yolook at Yan Hu, Jiang Chen patiently explained: "Although everyone on the plain can only exhibit Divine Infant Realm Peak abilities, strength level does not equate to combat power. Mastery of power, comprehension of the Great Dao, etc., even when their level is suppressed, those of higher realms are far superior to their lower realm counterparts."
Yan Hu nodded lightly.
"In fact, there were originally Necro Spirits at the outer regions too, but they’ve been cleared out by some tribes ruling over the outer areas. However, the inner and central regions witnessed the fiercest battles back then. Countless powerful cultivators fell; simply possessing Divine Infant Realm Peak abilities, no one can completely annihilate them."
Jin Hu realized, adding.
"It’s said there are numerous powerful relics within the central ten thousand miles zone, but unfortunately, our Jin Ge adventure team is too weak, only able to venture into the ruins of some Unity Realm Stage cultivators in the inner regions."
As he spoke, Jin Hu’s gaze burned as he looked toward the central plains: "This time, the appearance of a Saint’s Corpse Spirit means a Saint’s relic is bound to emerge, and who knows which lucky person will inherit a Saint’s legacy."
At the mention of relics, the three members of the Jin Ge adventure team couldn’t help but show fervent gazes, instinctively glancing at Jiang Chen, their eyes revealing complex expressions.
One among them stealthily glanced behind, touched his chest, his eyes showing a hint of guilt as he looked at Jin Hu.
"Young Master."
Feeling the anomaly in the three men, Yan Hu spoke softly.
"I know, don’t worry about it."
Jiang Chen responded lightly.
"We are now on the very outermost region of the plains. To reach the inner region, we need to travel a bit further. Brother Jiang, let’s quicken our pace; although we can’t explore the central region due to our strength, the outer areas within the inner region still allow for Necro Spirit hunting."
Not noticing the diverse thoughts his companions harbored, Jin Hu retracted the fervent gaze looking towards the Central Region, softly suggesting.
"Alright!"
Jiang Chen nodded lightly, and the group accelerated their pace into the plains.
Swoosh swoosh swoosh!
No sooner had Jiang Chen’s group departed than a group of nearly twenty appeared at the spot they previously occupied.
"Jiang Chen, you can’t escape!"
Zhang Chuzhi’s gaze was cold as he looked at the direction Jiang Chen and others departed, a gloomy look in his eyes.
Chen Kang glanced at Zhang Chuzhi, then turned to a young man in fine clothes beside him: "Young Master Lin, why not stop that kid right here?"
Young Master Lin didn’t respond directly, instead shaking the compass in his hand.
On the compass, the central area bore a large red dot marking their location, while beside it, a small green dot indicated their target.
From the compass, it seemed right next to the red dot, yet in reality, it was several miles away.
"See, this place is too close to the town. Since that kid has ties with the Gold-devouring Rat Clan, there’s no guarantee he doesn’t have some compass linking him to them. If he calls for help from the Gold-devouring Rat Clan, we’d be unable to act."
Young Master Lin smiled coldly: "Let’s proceed further inside, past a hundred miles. Then, we can deal with them!"
