Chapter 71: Elyndor Academy [7]

Then Aelar said, "We will continue the class now outside in a place where there is a higher density of mana."

Then Aelar told everyone to follow him.

All the students followed after him in silence.

After walking for some minutes, they reached a little garden which had a good density of mana.

There was really no lack of gardens and forests in Elyndor Academy.

After reaching the garden, everyone stopped and looked at Aelar to know what they were going to do here now.

Then Aelar looked at all the students and said, "So for today, you guys will try to form a mana sphere, but only by using the mana in the surroundings without absorbing it into your body."

Everyone was surprised at this, because making a mana sphere only with nature mana would take them at least half an hour.

Seeing the look on the students’ faces, Aelar said, "Just try to do it. It does not matter if you fail at it, because it is really hard to do on the first try. But don’t get discouraged by failure and just keep trying. You will eventually get better at it."

After Aelar said this, every student started trying to attempt it.

Most of the students were taking too much time to process the mana and then also collect it from nature while controlling it at the same time.

Some higher-ranked students were faster, but still not fast enough to actually use it in battle because, for now, they were only focusing on this. In battle, however, their focus would be divided, so they were far from being able to use it effectively for now. But if they kept trying, they might be able to use it in the future, and that was what was expected from them.

There was a significant difference in speed between the lower-ranked students.

However, among the higher-ranked students of the Academy, the difference was almost negligible, showing that species did not have too much effect on one’s strength.

It had not even been two minutes since everyone started.

Aelar looked at the students and then said in a lower voice to Elisa, who was standing beside him, "This batch of your students is really talented and has a strong will, as expected of the children of the Royal Family, the Church, and the Dukes’ families."

Then he looked at Asher, who was still standing and observing everyone. Seeing that, Aelar raised an eyebrow in confusion and then asked Elisa, "Why is he still not doing anything? Is he unable to do it? Wasn’t he supposed to have the strongest focus in this year’s batch? Even if that was only for his control over his own mana, he should still be better than most here."

Elisa just turned her head and looked at Asher. She observed him for a minute, then turned to Aelar and said, "He is doing it on purpose. He is first observing the capabilities of everyone present here, and then he will perform better than most if he can, but he also won’t give his full effort. He doesn’t want to give anyone an idea of his full capabilities, while also making sure that no one thinks he is weak.

He wants to make others wary and scared of him so that no one causes trouble for him, but he is also making sure that if anyone still comes in his way, they will not be prepared for anything he is hiding."

Aelar looked at Elisa after hearing her explanation and then looked at Asher once again.

Then he looked back at Elisa with a strange expression on his face and said, "Are you for real?"

Elisa just looked at him without saying anything.

Aelar then said, "He is just a child, there is no way he is thinking that way."

Then he looked at Asher again who was still standing there silently observing everyone.

No matter how he looked at him, he only saw a normal student and nothing more.

Aelar then continued, "What you just said sounds more like something a experienced noble or politician would think about, not a child who has only recently entered the Academy."

"He is observing everyone, judging their capabilities, making sure nobody knows his full strength, making others wary of him while also hiding things from them. That is way too calculated for a child."

Elisa just kept looking at Asher and then said, "Normally I would have agreed with you, but this is Asher we are talking about."

Aelar raised a eyebrow after hearing that.

Elisa then continued, "After observing him for month, I can say that he rarely does anything without a reason. Most people think he is doing nothing, but later they realize he had already noticed things before everyone else."

Aelar once again looked at Asher who was still standing at the same place.

Then he shook his head and said, "I still think you are overestimating him."

Elisa just smiled lightly and did not say anything.

Seeing her reaction, Aelar could only look at Asher once again.

"If what you are saying is true," Aelar muttered, "then that boy is going to be quite troublesome in future."

Elisa looked at him and then said, "This is not the most frightening thing. Everyone already knows about this because that kid is not even trying to hide it. He does not lie to manipulate others; in fact, he is the most honest person I have ever met in my life."

Aelar looked at Elisa with disbelief.

"The most honest person?" he asked.

Elisa nodded and said, "Yes."

Aelar frowned.

"How can someone who hides so many things be the most honest person?"

Elisa then said, "Because he does not lie."

Aelar raised an eyebrow.

Elisa continued, "He hides things, but he never lies about them. If you ask him something directly, he will usually tell you the truth."

Then she looked at Asher and added, "That is why he is frightening. Everyone knows he is hiding things, but nobody knows what those things are."

Aelar looked at Asher once again.

Aelar then said, "I don’t believe you. That kid does not give those vibes. He seems like a quiet and innocent kid who is just trying to enjoy his life."

Elisa gave a small laugh and then said, "Oh, you are right about that part."

Aelar looked at Elisa with a strange expression and said, "Are you getting crazy, or have you suffered a head injury recently?"

At Aelar’s response, Elisa froze for a moment and then thought,

"Wait, am I getting affected by that kid’s craziness now? I am not, right?"

While Elisa was having these thoughts, Aelar looked at Roselia Silverleaf, who had already almost completed forming a mana sphere the size of her palm.

It had only taken her 3 minutes to complete it.

Three minutes.

No enemy would give you this much time to prepare your spell, but the goal was not to form spells from nature mana. It was only to increase mana recovery and slightly decrease the mana consumption of spells that took longer to cast and required more mana to use.

Then he asked Elisa, "Do you think Asher will beat her in this?"

Elisa replied calmly, "I don’t know."

Then she continued"We will know soon"

Then she looked at Asher and said "Stop wasting time and start ,we don’t have all day "

As soon as Elisa said this, everyone looked towards Asher.

Most of the students were looking at him with curious gazes.

Some were simply looking down on him.

Roselia was also looking at him with both curiosity and disdain. She was sure that no one could beat her in this.

Asher looked back at Elisa, nodded, and then started forming a mana sphere.

Asher did not even seem that focused and simply started collecting the mana in the surroundings at a frightening speed.

It only took him 1 minute to form the sphere.

Everyone was so surprised by this that they could not believe their eyes, especially the students of Elyndor Academy, who had never expected a human to beat their most talented student, Roselia Silverleaf, who was supposed to be blessed by nature itself.

The mana sphere was just an amount of mana gathered into the shape of a sphere. It was not as layered or as dense with mana as the attack Asher had used during the test to blow off Leon’s arm.

That sphere had been extremely dense with mana and had consumed a huge amount of mana from Asher’s mana core.

But still, collecting this much mana from nature in such a short time was unbelievable.

However, the students of Aetherium Academy were even more surprised because they knew this was not his full capability.

Roselia had a look of disbelief on her face, but she soon calmed down.

But the most silent, and also the most surprised, were the two professors, who had witnessed the whole process from a completely different perspective and with understanding of will.
