Chapter 62: Exam
The next day,
Morning.
In the S-Class classroom, all the students were sitting in their respective seats.
Soon, Professor Elisa entered, and behind her were assistants carrying stacks of question papers.
Today was the Mana Control exam.
The assistants soon distributed the exam papers to everyone.
Then Professor Elisa said in a serious tone, "Don’t even think about cheating. If you do, you will fail immediately, or worse, you will be expelled from the Academy, no matter what your status is."
Everyone became serious after hearing this.
Then Professor Elisa continued, "You have three hours to complete the test, and you may leave whenever you feel like it after submitting your answer sheets."
"Your time starts now."
As soon as she finished speaking, everyone began answering the questions.
Asher looked at the question paper and thought, "I never thought that even after coming to a fantasy world, I would still have to take these nonsense exams. Life is really hard no matter what world you’re living in. But at least I have money now, so there’s no need to worry about this exam."
Then he looked at the first question
Question 1: What is Mana Control and why is it important?
Asher looked at it for a few seconds before picking up his pen.
Then he thought, "This is too easy."
After that he started writing his answer.
"Because mana control affects a spell’s structure, stability, and the time needed to cast it."
One question after another, he continued answering without stopping.
Most of the questions were related to the practical use of mana, so they were not hard for him.
Meanwhile many students had serious expressions on their faces.
Some were thinking hard while looking at the questions.
Some were writing quickly while others were stuck on a few questions.
The classroom was completely silent except for the sound of pens writing on paper.
Professor Elisa walked around the classroom while observing the students.
Time slowly passed.
After one hour, Asher had already completed more than half of the exam.
Then he looked around the classroom.
Most students were still busy writing.
Some even looked nervous.
Seeing this, Asher shook his head and thought, "No matter which world it is, exams are always annoying."
Then Asher stood up and started walking towards Professor Elisa.
As soon as he stood up, everyone looked at him with curious gazes.
Other students looked at him and muttered,
"He already solved all the questions?"
"No way he did."
Professor Elisa looked at him with suspicion and asked, "You completed all the questions already?"
Asher just replied calmly, "No, I only completed half, and now I don’t want to solve any further, so I am just submitting my answer sheet. Is there any problem with it?"
Professor Elisa looked at him and sighed, "No, just submit your answer sheet. Then you can leave."
Asher then submitted his answer sheet and left the room.
While everyone just looked at his back and thought, "As expected of him."
Asher walked out of the classroom without looking back.
The hallway was quiet, with only a few students moving around.
He stretched his shoulders a little and thought, "Finally done with that boring thing."
"Now it’s time to play games till lunch."
Afternoon.
In the cafeteria.
Asher was having lunch alone when Aria, Noah, and Adam also joined him, having just come after giving their exams.
Noah and Adam looked like they had just come from a decade-long war.
Aria still had an indifferent expression, as if the exam wasn’t even a problem to her—which it really wasn’t.
Asher didn’t say anything and just kept eating his food.
Then Noah asked everyone, "So how was the exam? How much are you expecting? I think I did pretty well and will probably get a rank between 20 to 30."
Aria simply replied, "Good."
Then Adam responded, but not before drinking his juice. "It was tough, but I am sure I will get my desired rank and won’t get scolded by my parents, and that is enough for me."
Asher just looked at Adam and said, "Your parents scold you for performing worse in exams? I thought noble kids’ parents don’t do that."
Adam just looked at him with irritation and said, "Not everyone’s parents are like yours. I am sure your father will be happy as long as you don’t cause any trouble. And unlike you, I am the future head of my family, so I can’t be lacking in any way, or else I will lose my position."
Asher just nodded at Adam’s words and said, "It is really funny to imagine a malfunctioning AC ruling a count’s territory. I am sure the people of your territory will die in summer due to extreme heat."
Adam looked even more irritated and said, "Stop calling me by that nickname. And your point doesn’t even make sense. Why does me becoming head have anything to do with my people dying in summer?"
Asher just ignored Adam, which made Adam even more angry, but then he calmed down and started focusing on eating his food, which had become much better after Asher’s suggestion.
Everyone was happy about this.
Meanwhile, Noah just looked at those two, laughed, and said, "I really like this time. It feels refreshing after taking that exam."
Adam looked at him and said, "Because you are not the one being called by an irritating nickname."
Asher then looked at Aria and asked, "What about your parents? Do they scold you for performing worse?"
Aria just looked at him and replied calmly, "They don’t care about my results and just let me do what I want. But I like studying, so I always try my best. And as for the position of head, that already belongs to my elder brother."
Noah raised an eyebrow and said, "So basically, only Adam is suffering here."
Adam glanced at him and replied flatly, "I am not suffering. I am being trained."
Asher looked at Aria and then asked, "So what are you even planning to do after graduating?"
