Chapter 135: Domain [End]
Meanwhile, the other five vessels were fighting the undead Grandmaster.
Unlike the giant beast, the undead Grandmaster still retained much of the combat instinct it had possessed while alive.
The five vessels continuously engaged it in close combat, attacking from different directions at the same time.
One vessel attacked from the front.
Another struck from the left.
A third appeared behind it through a mana knife.
The remaining two targeted its legs and back, forcing the undead Grandmaster to divide its attention.
Their black mana blades flashed repeatedly as they tried to land decisive strikes on its body.
But a Grandmaster was still a Grandmaster.
Even in its undead state, defeating it in a short amount of time was extremely difficult.
The five vessels couldn’t kill it quickly, so they changed their strategy.
Instead of trying to finish it immediately, they focused on keeping it occupied.
They continuously attacked from different directions, forcing the undead Grandmaster to remain on the defensive and preventing it from helping the other undead.
Their goal was simple.
The other vessels would first eliminate the remaining Master-rank undead.
Once that was done, they could surround the undead Grandmaster and finish it together.
Or perhaps the vessels fighting in the sky would succeed in killing No. 2 before that became necessary.
Either way, they only needed to hold the undead Grandmaster in place until the battle elsewhere was decided.
In the sky, No. 2’s expression behind his mask was filled with tension.
He continuously fled from the approaching Asher vessels while ordering the wyvern to attack them.
However, the vessels easily dodged every incoming attack.
They moved through the air as naturally as real birds, as if they had spent their entire lives flying.
The undead wyvern was still faster than the vessels, but they were gradually trying to corner it by approaching from different directions.
At the same time, they began launching attacks of their own.
Using the flying beast-shaped mana constructs around their bodies, they fired sharp mana feathers toward the wyvern.
The momentum of their flight increased the speed of the feathers, turning them into deadly projectiles.
Then, the moment a feather reached a favorable position, a vessel would instantly switch places with it, appearing much closer to No. 2.
Again and again, they repeated the same tactic, slowly reducing the distance between themselves and the fleeing wyvern.
Then, suddenly, No. 2 felt almost all of his connections disappear.
Only two remained.
The undead Grandmaster...
And the wyvern he was currently riding while fleeing from Asher’s vessels.
Every other undead had already been destroyed.
His expression changed drastically.
He immediately looked toward the battlefield below.
The gigantic undead beast was dead.
Its enormous body lay motionless on the ground, with nearly half of it completely destroyed.
At the same time, the remaining vessels were already moving toward the undead Grandmaster, preparing to finish it off as quickly as possible.
No. 2 cursed inwardly.
Then he suddenly sensed a presence directly above him.
His eyes widened.
He instantly looked upward and found one of Asher’s flying vessels right above him.
The flying beast-shaped mana construct around the vessel instantly dispersed.
In the same moment, the vessel reverted to his demonic humanoid form, manifested a mana blade enveloped in black fog, and slashed downward toward No. 2.
No. 2 instantly formed a black curse capable of rotting a Master’s body in an instant and fired it at the approaching vessel.
The curse struck the vessel directly and blasted him away.
However, that was all it did.
The curse itself simply vanished the moment it came into contact with the black fog surrounding the vessel.
No decay spread through his body.
No damage appeared at all.
The vessel was merely pushed backward by the force of the impact.
As he began falling through the sky, the demonic humanoid form around him instantly changed back into the shape of a flying beast.
Without slowing down, he resumed pursuing No. 2.
Seeing this, No. 2 couldn’t help but curse again.
"What exactly is that thing?"
"It can defend..."
"It can permanently kill undead..."
"And it can easily bypass most elemental defenses."
Then he noticed that the distance between him and his pursuers was decreasing with every passing moment.
Only one thought remained in No. 2’s mind if he wanted to survive this predicament.
He had to deactivate the Domain and join forces with No. 1, who had most likely already finished off the sixty masked men trapped inside his Domain and was probably waiting for him.
It hurt his pride to feel fear toward a mere thirty Masters.
But life was far more precious than petty pride.
Without wasting another second, No. 2 instantly deactivated the Domain.
The moment No. 2 deactivated the Domain, the dead world around them began to crack.
The gray sky shattered like glass.
The black sand beneath their feet crumbled apart.
Within moments, the entire Domain collapsed and undead also vanished.
The next instant, everyone returned to the real world.
NO 2 was falling from sky then he immediately looked around, expecting to see No. 1 standing nearby after finishing the battle.
But what he saw instead made his heart sink.
The headquarters of the Reaper Guild had become a battlefield filled with corpses.
Blood and shattered body parts were scattered everywhere.
And in the middle of it all...
No. 1 was lying on the ground.
His body was heavily injured, one of his arms was missing, and dozens of masked man were surrounding him.
For a brief moment, No. 2’s mind went completely blank.
No. 1 lost?
Before he could process what he was seeing, all of the surrounding vessels turned their heads toward him simultaneously.
Their emotionless gazes locked onto him.
At the same time, the ten vessels that had been pursuing him through the sky also emerged from behind.
Before No. 2 could even recover from the shock, the space around him suddenly shifted.
The next instant, masked men appeared from every direction, their blades already in motion.
Everything happened too fast.
By the time No. 2 realized what was happening, all four of his limbs had been severed.
One of the masked men grabbed him by the collar before he could fall.
Then, with a single motion, he threw the limbless No. 2 toward the ground.
No. 2 crashed heavily beside the spot where No. 1 was already lying helplessly.
