Chapter 133: Domain [8]
No. 2 watched Asher’s vessels fighting his undead like madmen, relentlessly slaughtering them without stopping.
However, as time passed, the speed at which the vessels fought and killed gradually began to decrease.
Even they couldn’t fight at their peak forever.
After fifteen continuous minutes of battle, their mana reserves had dropped drastically.
They could no longer maintain their demonic armor.
The additional pairs of mana arms also disappeared one after another.
They no longer had enough mana to continuously create mana knives and teleport across the battlefield.
Now, each vessel was left with only a single mana blade enveloped in the strange black fog.
Even so...
Not a single one of them retreated.
They continued advancing through the horde, cutting down every undead that stood in their path.
The ten vessels fighting from the side were still in good condition.
Since they were only being attacked from one direction, they had enough space to move freely and avoid being surrounded, unlike the vessels fighting at the center of the undead army.
The twenty vessels that had remained behind were still standing completely still.
Their gazes never left No. 2.
Not a single one of them even looked away.
It was as if they were waiting for him to make a move...
Or waiting for something else entirely.
Behind his mask, No. 2’s expression had become increasingly ugly.
He had already lost nearly half of his undead army.
Even while he stood there thinking, more undead continued falling every moment.
Despite that, he didn’t act rashly by sending in his strongest undead.
He knew it would be pointless.
If he sent his Master-rank undead now, those madmen would simply throw themselves at them without caring about their own lives.
His strongest undead would eventually be destroyed without accomplishing much.
Only after Asher’s vessels had completely exhausted themselves would he have a chance to overwhelm them.
As for fighting them personally...
He wasn’t No. 1.
He wasn’t a close-combat specialist.
Against monsters like these, who excelled in close-range combat, charging in himself would be the worst possible decision.
The twenty motionless vessels were the ones causing him the greatest unease.
He had no idea what they were planning.
Nor did he understand why they kept staring at him without making a move.
But whatever they were waiting for...
He was certain it wasn’t anything good for him.
Then...
Something changed on the battlefield.
The ten vessels at the center, who had been fighting together while protecting and supporting one another, suddenly started moving away from each other in different directions.
They no longer focused on killing the undead.
Instead, they only killed those standing directly in their path as they continued moving deeper into different parts of the battlefield.
Even though they kept suffering more and more injuries, they didn’t care.
They simply continued moving.
Just two minutes later, all ten vessels had completely separated from one another.
Each of them was now surrounded by countless undead in a different part of the battlefield.
They were exhausted.
Their mana was nearly depleted.
There was no way they could survive while being surrounded by so many undead.
Their deaths seemed inevitable.
Yet there wasn’t the slightest joy on No. 2’s face.
Behind his mask, his expression had become even more tense.
An intense feeling of danger welled up inside him.
Something felt terribly wrong.
But he couldn’t understand what it was.
’They have no way to survive anymore... so why am I still feeling this?’
Then...
Something happened.
All ten vessels suddenly stopped fighting.
The next moment...
Without the slightest hesitation...
Every one of them detonated their own mana core.
It wasn’t a simple self-destruction.
Instead of a normal explosion...
A massive black sphere appeared at the exact location where each vessel’s body had been.
The spheres instantly began expanding.
Each one was nearly ten times larger than the black mana spheres they had used against the members of the Reaper Guild.
The black spheres weren’t composed of spatial mana alone.
They were also filled with the same terrifying black fog.
Within moments, they transformed into enormous black holes.
The terrifying gravitational force erupted in every direction, pulling everything nearby toward their centers.
Ten of these gigantic black holes appeared simultaneously at different locations across the battlefield.
The entire Domain shook violently as the black holes devoured everything in their surroundings.
Undead, broken weapons, shattered bones, and even the black sand itself were dragged toward them.
Anything that came into contact with the black fog was instantly erased, while everything else was crushed and torn apart by the overwhelming gravitational force.
The battlefield instantly descended into chaos.
The lower-ranked undead had no ability to resist the terrifying gravitational force.
One after another, they were dragged toward the ten black holes.
Their bodies were crushed as they were pulled closer, and the moment they came into contact with the black fog, they simply died.
No. 2’s expression changed instantly.
He immediately realized that allowing his stronger undead to remain near the black holes would only result in unnecessary losses.
Without wasting a single moment, he issued a mental command.
All of the Master-rank undead immediately moved even more away from the battlefield around the black holes and retreated as fast as they could.
At the same time, No. 2 turned his gaze toward the undead Grandmaster.
"Destroy them!"
The undead Grandmaster moved at once.
Although it had already died long ago was no longer as strong as he was when he was alive, it still possessed the power of a Grandmaster.
It raised both of its hands.
The mana throughout the Domain surged violently.
The next moment, ten massive water dragons, each several dozen meters long, condensed in the sky.
With a wave of its hand, all ten dragons roared and rushed toward the ten black holes, intending to destroy them before they could claim more undead.
At the same time, No. 2 also gave another command.
The enormous undead fire wyvern beneath him let out a deafening roar.
Its skeletal wings spread wide as it flew toward the battlefield.
Dark flames gathered inside its mouth before erupting into two gigantic pillars of fire aimed directly at two of the black holes.
No. 2’s eyes remained fixed on the battlefield.
He had to destroy the black holes as quickly as possible before they caused even greater casualties.
