Chapter 816: The Unification of All Things
"That technique looks so familiar..."
Lorde stared at the slowly advancing black sphere, feeling a whirlwind of thoughts rush through his mind. If he hadn’t known that Tawil At-U’mr was the Crippled God, he would have thought a ninja from the neighbouring set had wandered into the scene. The way it looked resembled the Chibaku Tensei technique from another world. If only someone yelled, "Planetary Devastation," the comparison would be perfect.
Of course, he knew that wasn’t the case.
Although the appearance was strikingly similar, the power behind the two techniques was worlds apart. The Crippled God had already demonstrated the two powers he controlled during the battle in Newcastle—one that could disrupt time at will and another that could manipulate the very fabric of space. Both were terrifying displays of his overwhelming strength.
As the saying goes in certain fantasy novels, "Time is king, space is emperor."
Though this isn’t necessarily true, the fact that both powers are notoriously tricky to deal with is universally accepted.
Creating a black hole from thin air is a miraculous feat that no ninja could compare to.
The Chibaku Tensei technique only simulated the gravitational pull of a black hole, drawing in everything around it to form a sealed core. However, Tawil At-U’mr had created an actual, authentic, genuine celestial object—a black hole.
Surrounding the black sphere was a bright yellowish ring, defined in science as the "event horizon." This was the region where matter was compressed to its limits and collapsed into an ultra-dense area capable of destroying any physical structure.
All light was being bent and twisted by the black hole’s gravity.
Visible light formed into countless twisting streams, flowing like ribbons toward the black sphere’s centre before vanishing into the abyss.
Waves of airflow rushed in like a tsunami, with vast clouds of gas being devoured.
But that black hole wasn’t satisfied with just absorbing atmospheric matter. The ground beneath began to collapse under the pull of gravity. Trillions of tons of rock and earth were torn up, pulled into the sky, and crushed near the edge of the event horizon, broken down to their elemental components and consumed bit by bit.
The black hole, which initially measured only a few meters across, had grown to tens of meters in diameter.
With every piece of matter it devoured, its size continued to multiply exponentially, and its gravitational force became more and more terrifying.
Even with all his strength, Lorde could barely hold his position.
But he knew this couldn’t last long. As the black sphere consumed more and more matter, its density would increase, and once it grew into a truly massive celestial black hole, it could devour the entire star system.
The black hole would crush and consume everything—whether tangible or intangible.
At the core of that dark sphere, it felt like the gaping maw of an ancient, terrifying beast, exuding a horrifying aura. Lorde even imagined that the black hole wasn’t just a celestial object—it felt alive.
But... was that even possible?
Lorde dismissed the thought as absurd. How could a black hole be a living entity?
"It’s not too late to regret your decision."
Tawil At-U’mr’s brilliant voice reached him, drifting clearly despite its elusive tone: "Once it fully matures, it’ll be too late to change your mind. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t stop it then."
The Crippled God’s ’persuasion’ revealed a hidden meaning that made Lorde pause. "What do you mean, when it matures?"
"You’ve already felt it, haven’t you?" Tawil At-U’mr spoke with a mocking tone. "It’s not an ordinary ’black hole.’ It’s the state to which all things return after the universe’s extinction."
The primal state of all things?
Lorde’s pupils shrank as a terrifying thought crept into his mind.
Even without thinking too deeply, anyone with basic knowledge would feel a chill run down their spine, and their mind would go blank after hearing those words.
"To put it in human terms..."
Tawil At-U’mr paused deliberately before continuing with a sadistic pleasure. "It’s the state of the universe before the Big Bang—the singularity. Infinite density, infinite curvature of spacetime, infinite heat, and infinitesimal size."
"Of course, that’s just the theory."
Tawil At-U’mr added casually: "In my current state, I can’t create a perfect singularity. It’s merely a crude imitation. But after consuming enough matter, it will simulate a ’mini Big Bang.’"
Hearing this, Lorde felt his breath catch, almost stopping entirely.
"Though it’s only a mini Big Bang..."
Tawil At-U’mr’s cold laughter echoed clearly through the howling winds. "It still carries the force of a Big Bang, enough to destroy... the entire Virgo Supercluster."
The Virgo Supercluster?!!!
Lorde’s face turned deathly pale as he gasped in horror, his pupils trembling as if an earthquake had struck his soul.
The Virgo Supercluster was a vast collection of over a thousand galaxies, including the Milky Way and the Andromeda galaxies, with observable distances extending over a hundred million light-years. The sheer scale of life-bearing planets within that region was astronomical, and their destruction would be catastrophic.
Even Earth, millions of light-years away, wouldn’t escape destruction.
This... was the full power of the Crippled God?
A being beyond human comprehension can simulate and create even a Big Bang.
"For the last time..."
Tawil At-U’mr’s voice was calm as he asked, "If you enter the Ultimate Abyss now, I’ll make the singularity disappear."
"Inhale... exhale..."
Lorde closed his eyes, taking slow, deep breaths. Each breath seemed to require his entire willpower. He let the fresh air fill his lungs and pumped through his heart, speeding up his blood flow. He tightened his grip on his sword as if only through this could he muster the courage to face such a terrifying foe.
After a moment, he opened his eyes once again.
They burned a fiery shade of molten gold, blazing with resolve, cutting through doubt or confusion.
"I refuse."
Those three words weighed like mountains.
Lorde rejected Tawil At-U’mr, no matter the outcome. He would not submit, whether he won or lost.
He silently apologised to all the living beings whose lives would be affected.
This was his selfish decision, and countless lives would be caught in the crossfire. In another light, he might be seen as the most evil villain in the world for this.
"I am among all things..."
Lorde raised his sword and whispered.
The time it seemed to manifest as an endless river stretching across the skies of the planet Xandar. The ancient aura of time swept over every soul as an indomitable will descended upon the world.
Past, present, and future Lorde all appeared, treading the river of time.
In that instant, the spiritual pressure of countless Lordes resonated, releasing a surge of overwhelming power that swept across the entire planet. It was as if enormous beams of light pierced the heavens, extending into the infinite reaches of the universe.
"Bankai!!!"
With a roar, thousands of Lourdes raised their Zanpakuto.
Thousands of different Zanpakuto revealed their true forms from the past, through the present, and into the infinite future!
Bankai: Daiguren Hyōrinmaru!
Bankai: Kōkō Gonryō Rikishō!
Bankai: Kanzen Saimin!
Bankai: Senbonzakura Kageyoshi!
Bankai: Kamishini no Yari!
Bankai: Katen Kyōkotsu: Karamatsu Shinjū!
Bankai: Kurohitsugi Tenshō Myō’ō!
Bankai: Tensa Zangetsu!
Bankai: Ryūjin Jakka!
Bankai: Shiro Sange!
A colossal ice dragon tore through the sky, spreading its wings and casting endless frost. A thousand miles of land instantly turned into a frozen wasteland.
Golden lightning crackled and converged into a canopy, dropping countless bolts of thunder that filled the air with the scent of destruction, ripping the sky apart.
A vast sea of blood surged and churned in a violent storm.
Countless cherry blossoms danced, their razor-sharp petals slicing through the void, leaving behind endless trails of destruction.
Blinding blades of light cut through space, each slash threatening to sever anything in their path.
...
Bankai—I am among all things!
