Chapter 815: I Swear Not to Rest Until the Gods Fall!
The planet Xandar.
Violent tremors erupted from thousands of meters deep underground, shattering the once-flat land. Majestic buildings crumbled in the aftermath. Molten lava surged through cracks in the earth, bursting forth in towering columns of fire a thousand meters high. Volcanic ash mixed with the searing magma, exploding like fireworks. The air was thick with sulfur, creating an atmosphere of impending doom.
And then, in the next moment—
A piercing sword hum echoed across the sky.
An overwhelming sword light rose like a tidal wave, sweeping across thousands of meters with destructive force. The entire land was cleaved in two, leaving a bottomless chasm stretching for miles.
Violent winds swept across the battlefield, carrying meteor showers of fire that crashed down from the heavens, stirring up gusts of wind and raising clouds of dust and debris.
A towering, grey-white figure appeared amidst the storm, massive and imposing like a mountain, standing tall within the thundering storm.
The figure let out a roar of pure fury, raising its arm, covered in fish-scale-like grey-white armour, and punched toward the depths of the earth.
Clang—
The sound of a blade rang out again.
It carried a sorrowful tone, resonating with grief and pain, making all who heard it feel a deep, unshakable sadness as if their hearts were being pulled into despair.
A figure shot up from the depths, a black blade slicing upward. Like a dragon breaking free from its cage, the sword rose with unstoppable force, cutting through the storm with a fierce, unrelenting energy. Thunder and fire intertwined around the blade, creating a flash of sword light that seemed to tear through the sky.
The blade’s terrifying energy split the heavens long before it made contact, filling the air with a suffocating sense of death that pierced the soul.
It seemed as though it would split the heavens.
As though it would tear the earth apart.
And above all... it would kill a god!
There was no release except through this blade, the endless hatred, the unresolved sorrow.
"Die—!!"
No one could see the blade’s path; it was like a fleeting comet, leaving countless afterimages on their retinas.
Flames roared, and thunder howled!
Yet neither could match the wails of despair that followed in the blade’s wake as it sliced through the air. The plants and trees swayed in the violent winds, trembling as if sharing in the sword’s grief.
A cold, deadly blade—filled with ruthless intent.
The grey-white figure gasped in shock, recognising the terrifying force of the strike. It tried to retract its punch, but it was too late. The fish-scale armour covering its arm peeled open, and from within the black holes hidden beneath the scales, countless blinding beams of light burst forth.
Buzz—
In an instant, space folded upon itself millions of times, like a sheet of paper stacked layer upon layer until it became an impenetrable wall.
Slash!
The blade had yet to strike, but its force alone was as if it could slice through the heavens.
A streak of black light cut through the sky, splitting half of the heavens.
No defence could hold!
Even space folded millions of times, with its thickness and distance measured in light-years, could not stop the terrifying blade.
The spatial barriers, like towering walls, were cut clean in half, yet the blade’s momentum did not slow. It surged forward with a fierce, gale-like force.
Shhh!
The grey-white figure’s arm split open from the middle, its once-impenetrable scales cracking apart. Amidst roars of pain and fury, crimson blood flowed like a torrent, gushing down from the sky.
Bathed in the pouring rain of blood, Lorde stood in his now blood-soaked white robe. But his icy blue eyes still burned with a fierce, golden fire, as molten as flowing lava.
"Red blood..."
Lorde licked his lips, his cold eyes brimming with murderous intent. His fiery, golden gaze grew even more intense as he sneered. "So, it turns out that the gods bleed just like humans. You’re no different at all."
"You will regret this..."
Tawil At-U’mr, now missing an arm, revealed a pair of eyes glowing with the brilliance of a million stars beneath its thick grey robe. But now, those eyes no longer held the calm they once did. Instead, they were filled with fury and humiliation.
"Don’t make me answer the same question twice," Lorde said coldly, shaking the blood from his blade. The black sword now pointed downward, and he suddenly asked, "Do you know what today is, Tawil At-U’mr?"
"..."
Tawil At-U’mr said nothing, only glaring coldly at him, far too enraged to indulge in Lorde’s guessing games.
"Today is her birthday."
Lorde spoke in a calm, steady voice. "Nekhilia told me she was born on this day. As her father, I’ve never given her anything. But at the very least, today... let me give her this one... belated gift."
"I’m afraid the gift is too heavy for you to give!" Tawil At-U’mr realised his meaning, and the brilliance of countless stars shone from its eyes. Raising its intact arm, it declared, "Today, I’ll make an exception and let you witness the power of unifying all things!"
With those words, the void rippled with violent waves. Expanding from the figure as the centre, a powerful, divine will surged across millions of kilometres. A god-like force descended from the heavens.
All over the planet, nearly everyone was forced to kneel under the terrifying pressure, trembling in fear, their souls and bodies shuddering.
"Unification of all things!"
As countless souls quivered and wailed, a terrifying aura that could obliterate everything condensed into a pitch-black sphere at the tip of Tawil At-U’mr’s finger.
The moment the black sphere appeared—
The sky was torn apart, flapping violently like a flag in a storm. The massive vacuum of space, millions of kilometres across, was forcibly twisted into an indescribable, bizarre shape.
The air around the black sphere rippled, and visible shockwaves ploughed through space, carving deep grooves stretching across the sky like a massive stone thrown into a still lake.
But Lorde knew.
This wasn’t just a stone—it was space, compressed into a singularity by immense gravity. In human scientific terms, that thing was... a black hole!
"Too bad, Lorde. This is goodbye."
Tawil At-U’mr’s voice was cold as it lightly flicked the black hole toward him. "You’ll be annihilated along with this planet."
In the distance, amidst the storm,
Unohana Retsu, her white robe fluttering in the wind, gripped her sleeve tightly, her eyes filled with worry. She neither moved to leave nor stepped onto the battlefield.
She knew this was his fight.
No one could interfere—it was his battle for revenge. All she could do was stand there and pray silently.
"Please, come back alive..."
"I’m still waiting for you to fulfill your promise."
