Chapter 158: Chapter 107: Jiang Che Obtains a True Skill
’If I can’t beat a Bone Forging expert now, I’ll just wait until I reach the Organ Refining stage and come back for them.’
’Setting aside revenge for Li Hanchuan, the Zhao Family’s usual actions are despicable enough.’
’Besides, the Zhao Family possesses a True Skill. Given the chance, I certainly won’t pass up such a High-level Cultivation Technique.’
Finally, Li Hanchuan passed on a few more matters concerning the Seven Stars Gang, and then he breathed his last.
Although his spine had been kicked and broken, for a Bone Forging Level Martial Artist, that alone wouldn’t have been fatal.
His true fatal wound was the multitude of hidden injuries he had accumulated in his youth.
They all flared up at once, causing him to lose control of his Qi Force. This uncontrolled energy instantly ravaged his meridians and internal organs, leaving no hope of survival.
Jiang Che let out a long sigh.
He found a peach tree, dug a pit, and buried Li Hanchuan’s body beneath it.
Afterward, he found a rock and broke it into the shape of a tombstone. But he didn’t carve any words on it before placing it over the grave.
After doing all this, Jiang Che quietly descended the mountain.
He arrived at Lin Yuan City.
News of the successful annihilation of the Black Wind Mountain Horse Bandits spread like a virus.
The entire populace of Lin Yuan City took to the streets to celebrate, with some even setting off firecrackers.
The excitement rivaled that of the New Year festival.
Jiang Che, however, was fraught with worry. He first went to the Martial Arts Hall, only to find his master absent. The other disciples were also gone.
"Ling’er, where’s Master? And everyone else?" Jiang Che asked Jiang Ling, who was practicing in the courtyard.
Jiang Ling was now in the Late-stage Bull Skin Realm. She had grown much taller and developed some muscle definition, no longer looking like a child.
"Master seems to have gone to the Inner City. He said there was something he needed to discuss. He ordered the other disciples to go home and wait for news. I figured I’d be alone at home anyway, so I just stayed at the Martial Arts Hall."
Jiang Che warned Jiang Ling not to wander off, then headed to the Seven Stars Gang.
When he arrived at the Seven Stars Gang headquarters, he found only some low-level members.
After asking around, he learned that the Elders had either gone to fight the bandits or had gone to the Inner City to attend some meeting.
Apparently, all the Martial Arts Hall masters and high-ranking members of the various gangs in Lin Yuan City had gone. The purpose was supposedly to re-divide the spheres of influence within the city.
Jiang Che took out a slip of paper and wrote down the truth of Li Hanchuan’s death, as well as the news that the Gang Leader had ordered a full retreat. He then secretly left the note inside a frequently read book on Zhang Jinghuai’s bookshelf and departed.
Next, Jiang Che returned home, packed his valuables into a bag to carry on his back, and then went to the Martial Arts Hall to find Jiang Ling.
"Ling’er, as soon as Master returns, we’re leaving Lin Yuan City together," Jiang Che said.
"Why are we leaving? Didn’t we win the battle?" Jiang Ling asked, surprised.
Jiang Che then told his sister the real situation.
The Zhao Family was sure to make a power grab next, and they would suppress and purge any dissenters.
Their Martial Arts Hall hadn’t joined the Piracy Eradication Alliance and had been consistently suppressed by the Zhao Family. They could be targeted for purging at any moment, so they had to leave as soon as possible.
Although his sister didn’t fully understand, she knew her brother must have a good reason. She quickly began to pack her own belongings.
The two waited for a little while, then suddenly heard a commotion outside.
Jiang Che hurried over and was shocked to see his Second Brother, Shao Jianbo, carrying Luo Kun on his back as he stumbled into the Martial Arts Hall!
Luo Kun’s face was pale, with traces of blood at the corner of his mouth. He appeared to be severely injured!
"Second Brother, you’re back? And Master... what happened to him?!" Jiang Che was stunned, completely baffled by what had happened.
"It was the Zhao Family! They severely injured Master under the pretext of a friendly spar!" Shao Jianbo’s voice was filled with rage.
"The Zhao Family?!" A surge of anger rose in Jiang Che. ’To think they would actually move against Master!’
"No time to explain! Grab your things, we have to get out of the city immediately! It’s too dangerous here!" Shao Jianbo said urgently.
"Ling’er... the box under the bed... bring it..." Luo Kun said, his voice as faint as a wisp of smoke.
"Okay!"
Jiang Ling immediately ran to the space under Luo Kun’s bed. Seeing that there was indeed a box there, she picked it up and brought it over.
"What about your things?" Shao Jianbo asked.
"We’ve already packed," Jiang Che replied.
Shao Jianbo asked no more questions, simply nodding. With Luo Kun still on his back, he walked out of the Martial Arts Hall with Jiang Che and Jiang Ling.
However, just as they were about to step through the main gate, they saw that the entrance had been surrounded by more than a dozen Martial Artists dressed in black, tight-fitting attire!
