Chapter 170: Chapter 173: Who Dares!
Hearing the name, Lance thought for a moment because felt that the name sounded a bit familiar, but he couldn’t remember as he thinks deeper, when none came he finally let go.
After all, the only thing that caught his attention was the last name, Anzon, and his brother’s first name seemed to not be famous in his school.
However, as for the three girls, Mira, Mara, and Lora, they clearly knew him.
Jeff could already read a person’s slight microexpressions, facial expressions, and movements.
So he looked at the three of them and asked with a smile, "Oh, you three know my little brother?"
Being asked about this, the three girls were shaken. They wondered how he knew that they knew him.
Seeing this, Lance was surprised as well, he did not expect that the three of them to actually knew Evan while he don’t.
"Wait, you know him? Can you tell me who that good brother is?" Lance said while nudging his elbow toward Lora.
But Lora did not look at him and instead, she looked at Jeff deeply.
Then silence came, making Jeff wonder if his brother had done something big to become well known.
This made him feel a little proud. As his big brother, if Evan was actually famous then, as the big brother, Jeff could naturally share some of that glory as well.
Seeing him smile, Mara was the first one to break the silence.
"Yes we know, however it’s not the famous type that you are thinking about," she said with a sigh.
Jeff realized that the situation was different from what he had thought, he only furrowed his brows telling her to continue.
Even Lance, who had been acting playful earlier, also turned curious.
"During your brother’s two years in this school, it was stated that on the first day of class, he messed with the wrong person," Mara explained.
Hearing that his brother had messed with the wrong person, Jeff’s eyed narrowed even further as he looked at Lora.
Since she was the council president, her job was to handle this kind of matter but did she do something? and seeing his gaze, Lora continued as if he knew what he was trying to say.
"I couldn’t do anything about it, the people he attracted into trouble were some of the famous second-generation rich young masters. Even though I helped him about three times, it was all useless. I even tried to reach out to the principal, but he couldn’t touch those three either, the reason is because each of their family greatly contributes to the school."
"Even if I used my family’s power, it would still be useless. In terms of rank, none of the four of us are stronger than the others," she explained.
After hearing this, Jeff did not care about the five great families or those spoiled young masters. What he was thinking about was why it had happened like this.
"Can you tell me what started this?" Jeff asked.
His face was calm, but a great pressure fell upon the three of them even the whole cafe seemed to change.
One moment, the air felt cold but the next it became hot and heavy, don’t misunderstand that it was somekind of magic.
Rather it was caused by the unstable kinetic energy leaking from Jeff’s body.
The air around him trembled as invisible waves of force spread out from his skin, the cups shook softly on the tables, the milk tea in front of him rippled, and the lights above them flickered for a brief second.
This time, Jeff could not fully control himself and the kinetic energy inside his body was moving too violently, twisting the air around him like an invisible storm.
But that only happened for a second before he controlled it. Thankfully, his control over kinetic energy had improved.
If not, the whole cafe might have been left in ruins. Clearly, the training in the white room was not useless.
The twins who felt the aura coming from him were frightened, they felt like they are just a little lamb facing a big bad wolf.
Even Lora swallowed a mouthful of saliva as her pupils trembled, while Lance was shocked inwardly.
"Is this guy a master of force?" Lance thought.
Actually, Lance came from a military family. His family could be considered famous in the army, and he had been trained and honed in that place since he was young.
Since he had always been in that kind of place without enjoying a normal life, he was later enrolled in eleventh grade and told to come back after finishing high school.
Now facing this guy, whose pressure was even stronger than his instructor’s, Lance felt his fighting spirit rise through the roof.
Since Jeff looked like he was around the same age as him, Lance became even more interested.
"Can you tell me what started this?" Jeff asked again when he saw that Lora was not saying anything.
Swallowing a mouthful of saliva, Lora began to recount the events.
He just listened and nodded from time to time, he listened very attentively until she finally finished speaking.
As he absorbed all of those info, his golden eyes glowed like sparkling jewels as he felt bad for his little brother.
If he had been here, he would have protected him.
But now that he was here with much greater power, he would make sure those little bastards got what they deserved.
According to Lora, it all started on the first day of school during one quiz.
One of the second-generation rich kids failed to answer the teacher’s question, while his little brother answered it correctly.
This made the boy hold a grudge against him because it made him lose face in front of everyone.
That was when everything started, but before acting they first investigated since they don’t want to face a hidden dragon.
However, when they investigated and found out that he belonged to the Anzon family, they did not cause trouble at first.
But when they received the information that his family had already cut ties with them, finally they have hit the jackpot and used him as an outlet for their bullying.
It became so excessive that his little brother had no rest every day, even having a single day of peace was considered a luxury.
If he fought back, his scholarship would be taken away, and his right to attend this famous school would be denied, especially if the people behind those young masters got involved.
Because of that, Evan stayed quiet for two straight years, acting like a dog and a slave toward those people.
Mira and Mara also added that they once met his brother in the cafeteria looking hungry.
His lunchbox had been thrown into the trash, and he had no money to buy food.
Sometimes, they tried to give him their food. He accepted it at first, but the next time, he refused because he did not want to implicate the two of them.
Even if those rich second-generation young masters wanted to put their hands on Mira and Mara, they could not do it.
Lance and Lora were in the same class as them, and the four of them were always together.
Because of that, even if they had any bad thoughts about the two girls, they could not make a move.
In the end, they turned all of their attention toward Jeff’s little brother.
Jeff only closed his eyes as the rage inside him felt like an exploding volcano.
However, he controlled it with great precision. If he could not hold it in, these normal people would not be able to handle it.
But earlier, when he had almost lost control, the only one who seemed able to handle his pressure was the guy in front of him.
After thinking about it, Jeff concluded that Lance must be someone who belonged to that kind of group he had met days ago.
"There is actually something like this happening in our school? How come I didn’t know?" Lance said with red eyes.
After all, bullying was not a small thing and it had already been two years. Who could handle that for so long?
Lora could not help but pull his ear and shouted, "Have you forgotten? When you first transferred into this school, you got into trouble because you tried to save someone and that very person was him."
This made Lance dumbfounded as he thought for a moment and then, something clicked in his mind.
"So his name is actually Evan Anzon? Didn’t I tell him that if they ever bullied him again, he should just come to me? Why didn’t he tell me after so long? I thought he was living well now, and also... why didn’t you tell me?" Lance muttered in a somewhat sour tone as he looked at Lora.
"Because it is not that simple. This is the city, not a place where the person with the bigger fist has control. If I let you bully those rich second-generation young masters as well, my family would be pulled into trouble too," Lora explained.
"This... this..." Lance could not help but stutter as he looked at Jeff.
However Jeff only smiled, since this guy was clearly a good person to get along with.
"You have done enough," Jeff said, keeping this favor in his heart.
Then, a call suddenly ruined the whole atmosphere.
As Jeff took the call and answered it, the voice of a middle-aged man came from the other side.
"Young Master, I just heard that the young master was taken to the rooftop of the school building. Clearly, they are planning to thrash him so badly that he will not be able to take the rest of the exam. If you do not hurry, they will beat him until he loses consciousness. Please be fast great young master or it will be too late," the security guard said in a hurried voice.
However, while his face looked anxious and sincere on the outside, he was laughing internally as he said those words.
