Chapter 169: Chapter 172: Getting to know each other
Seeing this smooth move, the girl across from them, whose name was Lora was also surprised.
Even though a thousand pesos was nothing to her, she was still surprised that this handsome man, whom she had thought was poor and shameless, seemed to have much more than she expected.
Even the guy close to her named Lance, was also surprised by his action. Clearly, the guy in front of him seemed to be more skilled at picking up girls than him.
If Jeff heard their thoughts, he would only brush it off, since they were just misunderstanding him.
Seeing her little sister suffering, Mara pulled her aside and changed seats with her. Mara moved to the center, while Mira sat closer to the edge of the seat.
"How dare you flirt with my little sister in front of me?" the long-haired girl said as she poked her finger against Jeff’s chest and exhaled angrily.
Feeling the tough muscles of his chest made her surprised, since it was as solid as a rock.
Jeff only raised his arms and replied lazily, "Aight."
With their interaction, it felt like the group had known each other for a very long time.
"Alright, alright, Mara, that is enough. You can clearly see that he did not mean it," Lora said, deciding to smooth things over.
"Hmph, you are lucky that the council president is helping you. If not..." she said, giving him a death stare that she thought was effective, but it was not.
"Little sister, next time at least have some backbone, look at that guy. Just because he is handsome and has some money does not mean he can take advantage of you," Mara said, pulling Mira’s ear while teaching her a lesson.
Hearing her describe him like that, Jeff felt too tired to argue. After all, their paths would likely never be fated to meet again in the future.
Mira could only nod her head with puffed cheeks, listening like a little soldier being scolded by her big sister.
Seeing the two sisters interact like this, the whole group found them cute and wholesome.
"Let’s stay on topic so what is his name?" Lora asked Mara.
In reply, Mara crossed her arms and said, "I do not really know him Lora, we are not lying. We only met him during the ride in the van and we do not even know where he lives. Even his name, we do not know. Also, we are not interested in knowing," she said defiantly.
On the other hand, Mira perked up her ears, seeming interested in knowing who Jeff was.
"Ohhh," Lora said, not expecting that the three of them really had no deeper interaction at all.
"My friend, is it okay to know your name? To show respect, my name is Lance Vance," the blond-haired man said as he extended his hand for a handshake.
Seeing how this guy, who seemed to be around the same age as him acted, Jeff showed a good expression and extended his hand in reply.
"Nice to meet you, the name is Jeff Anzon," he said with a smile.
Finally knowing the guy’s name, Lance smiled and nodded his head. He tried to search through his memory for every influential family he knew, and something clicked.
There seemed to be some rich people with the last name Anzon, if he remembered correctly.
"Hmm, maybe this guy belongs to that family," Lance thought without reacting too much.
On the other hand, Lora’s eyes trembled for a moment as a person flashed in her mind, but she quickly brushed it off.
Meanwhile, Mara, who had said that she was not interested in knowing who he was, was actually listening attentively, though she did not show it much.
"So his name is Jeff Anzon, what a cool name~" Mira thought inwardly as she fiddled with her fingers.
Feeling curious and wanting to know him better, Lance asked, "Are you related to the Anzon Family?"
Seeing him being so blunt, Jeff found him much more likable so he answered, "Hmm, I guess you can say that, but our family is not really that close."
Because the moment his father married his mother, their relationship with that family seemed to have become bad.
"I see," Lance nodded his head and did not ask any more questions.
"Now it is my turn handsome. I have not seen you here before, can I ask where you live?" Lora asked.
"Hmm, it is not really a secret. My home is located in the mountains, but I am renting an apartment in Sara while attending school. So you can say that I am only here for a short vacation at home," he replied while sipping his milk tea.
"Ohhh, what year are you?" Lora asked.
"Eleventh grade."
"Eleventh grade? Then we are exactly the same age," Lora said with a smile.
"Eleventh grade, and you are already this tall? Do you play basketball?" Lance asked.
Jeff was already above six feet tall, while Lance, who was also considered tall at around six feet, was still an inch shorter than him.
"Nope, I do not really like sports or any other extracurricular activities," he replied dismissively.
"What about you two? Where do you all live?" Jeff asked.
"We live in Long Valley," Lora said with a smile.
"Together with him?" Jeff asked, shifting his gaze toward Lance.
Lance only smiled and nodded, while Lora continued, "Yes, Lance is my cousin don’t even misunderstand, and he is currently staying at our home. But I am shocked that you do not seem surprised after hearing about Long Valley."
While Jeff continued sipping his milk tea, he felt confused. Why would he have to be surprised about it?
"Oh, you do not know about it?" she muttered in surprise.
Since Long Valley was a famous place, even people outside the region knew about it.
"Well, to give you an idea of how massive that place is, you can say that it is a home for rich people. Even millionaires are normal to see there, and even billionaires can be spotted easily if you know where to look," she explained.
"Oh, so that means the two of you are millionaires then," Jeff said without any change in his expression.
If he told them that his newly acquired resort was currently serving a quadrillionaire, they would probably think he was insane.
"Hehe, we belong to a different group," she said with a hint of mystery.
On the other hand, Lance was carefully looking at Jeff’s expression.
In their, there is literally no change whatsoever, this made Lance curiosity rised even more.
"So you guys are billionaires," he said.
"Shhh," Lora said, motioning for him to be quiet so she could stay low-key.
As the council president of the school, her reputation was already well known throughout the whole place, so what was the point of being low-key now?
But Jeff did not say anything. When she was finally done bragging, she felt pleased inwardly.
On the other hand, the twin sisters did not react much. As her best friends, they already knew her identity.
They had even been invited to her birthday at her home before. Lora seeing that he was not even surprised slowly got bored as she asked.
"You’re such a boring man, other than visiting your home are you also here to spy on these two?" she said teasingly.
Jeff just looked at Mira and Mara and bluntly said no. Seeing his reaction, Lora slowly became bored, since this handsome guy had no charm at all.
The twins, after hearing him say this, slowly felt a little resentment in their hearts. After all, as famous twins, they had even been chased by young millionaires before.
Yet this guy did not even show them the slightest courtesy, he did not even hesitate before giving his answer.
Lora became too bored to continue the conversation, since he was really like a piece of wood.
He did not blush or react much, just like a robot, making him completely uninteresting for her taste.
"Then what is your purpose here, my friend? If you cannot say it, then I am sorry for being impolite," Lance said.
Jeff shook his head, telling him that he was not really being impolite, before replying.
"I am here to visit for my little brother’s upcoming birthday. You can say that I am going to be the party planner for his celebration."
"Oh, you actually have a brother? Is it okay to ask his name?" Lance asked.
"His name is Evan Anzon," Jeff said, remembering his brother’s expression before he left.
This made his mood turn bad, but he hid it well and did not show much on his face.
