Chapter 2399: Chapter 2398: The Unexpected Really Happened

"Isn’t this supposed to be an actor’s integrity?" Alvin retorted.

Since he agreed to shoot the film, he didn’t want to awkwardly act throughout. Previously, he only starred in romantic films, and given that he is actually in a relationship with Nangong Lin, it could barely be considered acting.

He was playing himself.

Finally, when the film reached the last part nearing completion, there was finally a scene where he could showcase his acting skills a bit. No matter what, he had to strictly demand of himself here.

He didn’t want people to misunderstand and think that Nangong Lin was the film queen and he was just there as a foil, showing his face.

"But..." Nangong Lin seemed still a bit worried.

"It’s okay." Alvin comforted Nangong Lin, "The film crew has done an excellent job with the safety measures. Besides, it’s not the first time there’s been a wire scene; don’t worry."

Alvin’s words were so reassuring that Nangong Lin didn’t know what to say, she slightly frowned.

She knew the crew’s safety measures were good, but one can’t help but worry about accidents. If Alvin fell, she couldn’t afford to compensate.

"Besides, even if there’s an injury, it would only be minor." Alvin smiled again, comforting Nangong Lin, "At least no one will die. I wouldn’t want viewers to say the entire film showcases Nangong Lin’s and Zheng Huayu’s acting skills while Alvin merely relied on his face to awkwardly act."

Nangong Lin was amused, and eventually nodded, "Alright, I’ll follow your lead."

Thus, the decision was made, Director Liu also agreed, and he greatly appreciated Alvin’s professionalism.

Meanwhile, the props team began preparing. Although the building would be completed with post-production CG effects, basic props were necessary, like where the stairs were, where the stone slabs were, and where the explosion would occur.

This scene was split into two settings: one shooting in a real building and another in the scene where the building crumbles post-explosion.

After a few days of preparation, they were ready, and several people plunged into the intense shooting.

Nangong Lin was an excellent actor, performing alongside her would engage anyone, even without much acting experience, and involuntarily draw them into the scene.

So for Zheng Huayu and Alvin, acting was quite smooth.

The real challenge was the explosion segment, along with Alvin’s special effects shots.

Due to strict requirements, Director Liu shot the scene repetitively numerous times.

No one anticipated that on the last take, an accident would happen: the explosive charge to blow up the building suddenly detonated prematurely for unknown reasons.

Alvin was still in his scene with Zheng Huayu, where they were fiercely arguing, and Zheng Huayu was shouting, ’No one can get out, no one can get out.’

Originally, after he finished speaking, Alvin would ask, "What do you mean?"

Zheng Huayu would raise his hand to look at his watch and then say, "Because I planted a bomb here, and it’ll explode in one minute."

Then Alvin would frantically drag Nangong Lin to escape.

But unexpectedly, as Zheng Huayu raised his hand to check his watch and hadn’t finished speaking, suddenly, a loud bang sounded, and the explosive charge exploded.

Alvin and Zheng Huayu instinctively jumped to the other side.

Nangong Lin, at the scene, was completely shocked.

Luckily, the explosive was a film-specific one, with no real damage or burns caused.

The issue was that, striving for realism, the actors were positioned rather close to the explosive charge.

When Alvin jumped, he grabbed Zheng Huayu, causing both to fall together. Unluckily, there was a box not far away, marking the scene’s CG transformation point.
