Chapter 3165: Chapter 3165

The instant Ye Liuyun subdued one martial cultivator, he slashed at the next, pouring every last shred of divine essence into the blow.

The second cultivator knew the strike was lethal and tried to slip away with spatial power, but Ye Liuyun locked the surrounding space with all the spatial force he could muster.

The cultivator erupted, blasting the seal apart with his own spatial energy—yet the blade was already descending. He could only borrow the might of his inner world to defend.

A deafening boom flung every nearby cultivator backward.

He survived, using his world’s power to block Ye Liuyun’s slash, though it left him momentarily drained.

Both Ye Liuyun and the metal puppet were hurled away, yet with a flick of his wrist he hurled the spatial puppet beside the man and had it cleave the cultivator in half.

The cultivator who’d fallen under Ye Liuyun’s crimson-pupil illusion had barely risen when the spatial puppet ripped him from the void and killed him with another sword-stroke.

Only three cultivators remained; two had earlier been wounded by the doppelgängers. They were far easier prey. Ye Liuyun advanced with his two puppets, one target each.

The instant his temporal power recovered, he froze time and swept all three apart at the waist with a single horizontal slash.

Only then did he release time again, opening his spatial world and letting the demonic beasts, Tang Xinyao, and the rest join the fray.

They emerged to find Ye Liuyun in disarray—no one had expected the fight to turn this savage so quickly.

“I’m fine—just warming up. Watch yourselves!”

His divine essence was already replenished, and the remaining soldiers were only seventh- or eighth-tier; far simpler prey.

With a wave of his saber he led the charge once more.

Across the battlefield, roars and screams blended into a single din. The tide of ferocious beasts had crashed into the surrendered army, while reinforcements from several dynasties clashed with them.

Devil Vine was already sweeping through the ranks, devouring soldiers in coils of green. Both doppelgängers had taken position and released everyone from their spatial worlds.

The two demon legions stood out most of all: clad in the black armor of the Death Corps, shrouded in pitch-black fiendish aura, they roared in unison and charged the dynasty army. The sheer presence of them chilled the enemy’s blood.

Ye Liuyun and both doppelgängers entered the fight. Each group faced heavy pressure. The first doppelgänger had it easiest—his demon legion matched the dynasty soldiers in both numbers and cultivation.

The second doppelgänger, however, led only a few hundred against tens of thousands. Fortunately, the Ferocious Bandit Regiment and Xiao Heng’s squad were all stronger than the common soldiers.

Ye Liuyun’s own section bore the greatest strain. Though the beasts were powerful and Devil Vine raged beside them, they still faced nearly ten thousand seventh- and eighth-tier foes.

All three fronts fought with abandon, drenched in blood.

Long Nu had already unleashed her Frenzied Dragon Combat Arts, charging at the fore. She swept bodies aside with her tail, tore through armor with her claws, her draconic bloodline blazing—wherever she passed, not a single intact suit of armor remained.

Lei Ming summoned her own doppelgänger; both swung massive hammers, loosing World-Ending Tribulation Lightning that obliterated swathes of soldiers at a time. Her true body followed, hurling demonic thunder, her enormous frame carving straight through the dynasty lines and then turning back to carve again.

The Nine-Headed Demon Dragon kept all nine heads busy, white beams lancing out constantly. Bai Hu flooded the field with golden light that vaporized soldiers by the platoon. Stone Ape’s three heads and six arms sought the densest crowds. Vermilion Bird ignited whole companies while devouring drifting souls.

Little Blue Ice, Chi Lian, and Devil Lion worked more quietly, protected by two invisible Black Tortoises. They siphoned bloodline and soul power; Devil Lion guarded the void while the tortoises struck down any soldier who came too close.

Devil Vine’s tendrils caged every soldier of this tier, whipping those who tried to flee while other vines kept lifting victims to drain their energy.

Tang Xinyao’s squad advanced slowly but steadily, emphasizing tight coordination. Their cultivation was strained against seventh- and eighth-tier soldiers; only flawless teamwork gave them an edge.

Ye Liuyun fought with lightning and flame, saber intent, spatial force, and the might of heaven and earth—sparing his divine essence whenever possible. Against these soldiers, using it was wasteful; only when rescuing Tang Xinyao’s group did he expend a burst.

The two demon legions fought most easily. They had carved deep into the dynasty army and, after a bout of carnage, were already encircling soldiers at the early Unity realm, herding them toward the center.

The second avatar’s Fierce-Soldiers Bandit Brigade was indeed fighting far more savagely than Xiao Heng’s unit. Their cultivation levels were higher to begin with, and once they plunged into the army’s ranks they became an unstoppable force.

Seeing this, Xiao Heng and Li Zhaoyuan also urged their soldiers into a desperate charge, gradually matching the bandits’ speed—but their casualties were slightly heavier.

The second avatar, shielding the women, advanced just as fast. Every one of those women could fight two full realms above her own.

Ye Tiandao’s saber intent was already strong enough to stand alone; she could even battle a Unity Seventh-Layer cultivator, so ordinary soldiers couldn’t stop her.

The songstress, Little Lan’er, Xiao Yunfang, and Meng Qingyin were all above the soldiers in cultivation as well, so protecting the women was more than enough. The second avatar simply brought up the rear, sweeping saber intent behind them.

The vicious beasts began peeling off forces to surround the dynasty soldiers who had been trying to encircle them first, expecting reinforcements to follow.

But the main army could barely protect itself; no one came to help. Instead, the soldiers were boxed in by the beasts. Against these creatures surrender was useless—they could only fight to the death.

The surrendered troops had nowhere to run either. Behind them was the demon army, ahead were the beasts. After weighing it, they decided demons fought in formation while beasts were easier to kill, so they threw themselves at the beasts with everything they had. For the moment the beasts couldn’t reach Ye Liuyun’s side.

Yet Ye Liuyun and both avatars were already edging toward the junction of the two armies, ready to intercept any beast assault.

“Ye Liuyun!” Jiang Yunyang roared from the distant main host, teeth clenched in hatred.

Ye Liuyun was fighting with his true face. Word had reached Jiang Yunyang: it was definitely Ye Liuyun leading the assault on his army. But the force was nearly broken, and he could no longer get reports—he had no idea how bad things truly were.

“Break camp! Follow me to kill Ye Liuyun!” Jiang Yunyang bellowed the order to the entire army.

His subordinates had no clue what was happening, yet they dared not disobey; they could only muster the troops.

Only then did the deputy commander ask Jiang Yunyang for details.

Jiang Yunyang himself didn’t know the exact situation or Ye Liuyun’s real strength—he only said that Ye Liuyun had attacked their army, aided by vicious beasts.
