Chapter 3164: Chapter 3164

“Those beasts can’t be trusted! Once their savagery flares up, they won’t care friend from foe!” Yu Xiaofeng warned Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun was in command this time, so Xiaofeng didn’t interfere—only Liuyun knew his own forces best. The warning was just that: a reminder.

Liuyun nodded. “True. But I’m not counting on them for much—just a distraction for the army is enough.”

With that, he slipped back into his spatial world to make final arrangements.

“When the beasts’ wide-area assault starts, my two clones and I will nab the Ninth-Step cultivators. At the same time, the Devil Vine will focus on sneak-attacking the elite soldiers at Unity Seven and Eight.

“Then I’ll lead the demon beasts and Tang Xinyao to support the Vine. First clone releases the two Demon Legions to wipe out mid-Unity soldiers. Second clone takes the murderous bandit troop, Xiao Heng’s squad, and the women to hit Unity-Three soldiers.

“Xiaofeng, keep an eye on the overall battlefield. Ignore the surrendered troops—leave them to the beasts. If the beasts charge our way, let the dynasty soldiers through to them, but watch for stray attacks. If the beasts turn on us, kill them without mercy.”

“Yes, sir!” Everyone answered in unison; Liuyun and his clones swept them into the spatial world.

Arrangements done, Liuyun re-emerged to brief Yu Xiaofeng and have him monitor the fight.

“Could the beasts be planning to wipe us out too?” Xiaofeng asked, ever cautious.

Liuyun’s lips curved. “Then it’s time to roll out our big toys.”

Seeing Liuyun had a contingency, Xiaofeng chuckled. With the firepower chariots in play, no amount of enemies worried him.

Soon Liuyun spotted several small beast packs edging toward the surrendered troops. Farther off, beast-kings with a few followers were also closing in quietly. He guessed they’d stashed the bulk of their beasts in spatial worlds.

“Huh? Where’s the Devil Flood Dragon?” Liuyun suddenly realized the creature was missing. He tried to reach his two flood dragons—no response.

“Hope you’re not here to die,” he muttered.

Using spatial stealth, he slipped away, first tossing out the Devil Vine, then closing on the Ninth-Step experts.

The four soul-fragments of his two clones merged into his sea of consciousness, ready to work in trios—three souls per target—to snatch every Ninth-Step powerhouse in one sweep.

Small packs had already begun ambushing the surrendered army; the distant beast-kings accelerated.

The surrendered troops assumed it was another minor raid and set up defenses. This time, however, the beasts didn’t retreat—they bored deeper into the ranks.

With roars from the rear kings, tens of thousands of savage beasts burst out.

“Call for reinforcements!” the surrendered troops panicked, shouting toward the dynasty army.

The dynasty forces realized this was no ordinary skirmish; several detachments rushed to aid, while others maneuvered to encircle.

Liuyun crept closer, but his spatial power still lacked punch. Before he got near enough, three Ninth-Step experts streaked toward him.

Their divine sense had caught the spatial ripple, suspecting a beast sneak attack.

“Spotted again—my spatial arts really are weak,” Liuyun sighed.

He acted instantly, freezing time. Six soul-fragments shot out and dragged the three experts into his spatial world.

The moment time resumed, the sudden vanishing of three top experts drew every other Ninth-Step cultivator’s attention.

Liuyun used spatial power to blink right among them. Someone barely sensed the ripple before time froze again. The six souls split into pairs of three: two pried open defensive treasures, one planted a slave seal—swift, clean, flawless.

He poured every ounce of his temporal power into branding all these experts with slave seals. Only after his time force had regenerated did he switch to spatial energy, teleporting the entire group into his personal pocket world.

“Huh? Six are missing!”

“It’s an ambush!”

Ye Liuyun and his avatars instantly realized the enemy had laid a trap.

But his temporal power was exhausted, and the souls of both avatars snapped back into his main body.

At that moment, six cloaked powerhouses materialized around him, surrounding him in mid-air.

“So it’s a human cultivator!”

They were visibly startled—never expecting to run into a human here.

Yet Ye Liuyun’s methods were too bizarre; none of them could figure out how he’d spirited everyone away. One of them struck at once.

Two late Ninth-Order Heaven Saints thrust their palms at him simultaneously.

Ye Liuyun instantly unleashed his bloodline pressure to blunt the assault, then drained an entire dantian’s worth of divine essence, fused it with heaven-and-earth might, and blasted it outward to meet the twin strikes.

At the same time he released both avatars. They were ready: the moment they appeared they loosed arrows straight at the two attackers.

Boom—boom! Ye Liuyun deflected part of the force; the remainder slammed into him, flinging him backward but leaving him unharmed.

The two enemy Saints raised shields, blocking the arrows, yet the shields shattered under the impact, blood running down their arms.

“Go—leave this to me!” Ye Liuyun barked, drawing the Demon-Slayer Blade while ordering the Devil Vine to strike.

He saw a rare chance to sharpen himself; his body was tough enough to take a beating, and genuine combat practice was priceless.

The avatars, arrows nocked again, forced the interceptors back and vanished at once. Ye Liuyun summoned his metal puppets and charged alongside them.

“Stop him!”

Seeing how lethal the avatars’ arrows were, the six Saints let them flee and focused everything on Ye Liuyun, attacking in unison.

The metal puppet swung its blades behind him, shielding his back, while Ye Liuyun erupted with full bloodline force to suppress the surrounding foes. Blade intent surged as he cleaved at one Saint with everything he had.

That slash—fueled by desperate urgency—merged divine essence, heaven-and-earth power, and spatial force. The blade arrived the instant it left his hand; with a thunderous crack the Saint was cleaved apart.

Another slash followed, barely parrying the next attacker, while his body absorbed the remaining blows. At the same time he used a Yuan-storing crystal to replenish his energy and launched a soul attack with his crimson pupils against one of the Saints.

The metal puppet took three direct hits with its frame, staggering back until it pressed against Ye Liuyun’s spine. Then its arms blurred, hacking at two Saints to keep them from chaining further strikes.
