Chapter 2957: Chapter 2957
The disciples of the Tang family had been following the avatar, listening intently as he recounted tales of the foreign races.
Tang Xinyao wanted to pry into the details of how they had eradicated the ancient demons, but the avatar refused to divulge even a sliver of information.
Before long, the An family dispatched over a hundred elders to ambush and eliminate the avatar’s team.
Yet, the avatar remained unruffled, calmly unleashing an equal number of Unity Realm martial cultivators to counter them. In the end, every single elder was annihilated.
Tang Xinyao and her companions had initially intended to intervene and assist, but upon witnessing the sheer number of martial cultivators summoned, they simply retreated to the sidelines to spectate.
"Your coordinated attack formation is impressive! Is it a military formation?" Tang Xinyao praised, clearly recognizing the formidable nature of the tactic.
"Yes," the avatar replied tersely, wary of engaging too much with the girl lest she extract more information from him.
Shortly after, the second avatar proceeded to absorb the planet into himself, leaving Tang Xinyao and the others utterly dumbfounded.
What they had most wanted to witness was the absorption of a planet. None of them possessed such a technique, nor had they ever seen anyone else accomplish it.
Now, standing in the void of space, they watched as an entire world was seamlessly drawn into the avatar’s body—a sight that left them awestruck.
"Alright, I’ve said all I needed to say, and you’ve seen what you wanted to see. Let’s part ways here. We have other matters to attend to and can’t linger any longer," the first avatar declared, summoning a Spirit Cat battleship as he prepared to depart.
"Will you come for our Tang family’s planets next?" Tang Xinyao immediately pressed.
"We will," the avatar confirmed without hesitation. "Those uninhabited planets serve no purpose for you, but they hold great value for us."
His words sent a ripple of tension through the Tang disciples. If that was the case, it seemed inevitable that conflict would arise between them sooner or later.
"Then let me tag along! We can settle things with a fight when the time comes—it’s on the way anyway!" Tang Xinyao declared breezily, as if it were the most natural suggestion in the world.
"You really don’t stand on ceremony, do you?" The avatar couldn’t help but feel exasperated by her.
"Relax, I just want to learn more about Junior Brother Xiaofeng on the way. I won’t hold up your mission!" Tang Xinyao replied nonchalantly.
She then turned to the other Tang Clan disciples and said, "All of you, head back. I’ll go with him directly. We’ll regroup at the Tang Clan’s uninhabited planet later."
The Tang Clan disciples were all dumbfounded, unsure whether the avatar and his group were friends or foes!
"I’m coming with you too!" Tang Qianyu immediately chimed in.
Tang Hao also grew uneasy about the two of them: "Then I’ll accompany you as well!"
The other Tang Clan disciples, however, wore troubled expressions. Seizing the moment, Tang Xinyao told them, "The three of us are enough. Any more would just hinder their movements. You all return to the Tang Clan first!"
"Fine then!" the others agreed. None of them had the courage to travel alongside potential adversaries, fearing they might be ambushed.
"I haven’t even agreed yet!" the avatar said helplessly.
"You’re a friend of Junior Brother Xiaofeng, which makes you our friend too. So don’t be polite—just take us along. We definitely won’t slow you down! Who knows, after a good chat, we might even avoid fighting altogether!" Tang Xinyao laughed.
"Alright then! I’d really rather not cross blades with you," the avatar replied, genuinely hoping they wouldn’t resort to violence.
Truth be told, he had already devised a plan: if it came to a fight, he would simply evade these three and focus on claiming the other planets first.
And so, the three of them boarded the Spirit Cat battleship, heading toward the next uninhabited planet under the An Family’s control. Meanwhile, the first avatar recalled everyone into the spatial world, allowing them to recuperate and cultivate—especially the second avatar, who needed time to refine the newly acquired planet.
Upon reaching the next uninhabited planet, the Spirit Cat battleship merely recorded its coordinates without landing. Instead, it swiftly departed the Demon-Slaying Star System to avoid detection by the An Family.
"Where exactly are you taking us?" Tang Qianyu tensed up immediately. Even Tang Hao and Tang Xinyao grew slightly uneasy.
The clone explained to them, "We’ve just captured a planet and need to refine it before we can continue collecting more. So, we’ll have to leave the Exorcism Galaxy temporarily to avoid the An family’s pursuit and return once we’re ready to take another planet. If you’re worried, I can drop you off somewhere."
"No need, we trust you!" Tang Xinyao replied without hesitation.
"What are you doing?" Tang Qianyu whispered to her in confusion.
"Suit yourselves, then! I need to go cultivate and recover now. Wait here for a few days—if anything comes up, just ask the soldiers piloting the warship." After giving these instructions, the clone immediately retreated into his spatial world to restore his energy, careful not to engage Tang Xinyao in further conversation.
He suspected Tang Xinyao was already questioning whether he was Tang Xiaofeng, and he didn’t want to risk revealing too much.
Tang Xinyao didn’t press him, knowing he would soon be in battle and needed time to recover.
Meanwhile, Tang Qianyu grew restless and asked anxiously, "If they really go to plunder one of our Tang family’s uninhabited planets, do we fight them? Why are we even following them?"
Her mind swirled with doubts.
Since she had nothing else to do, Tang Xinyao patiently explained, "I suspect he *is* Junior Brother Xiaofeng—just using some method to alter his appearance and change his weapon. That’s why I’m sticking with him.
"Besides, look at how he treats us. He doesn’t seem worried about us harming him or ambushing him at all. If he weren’t Xiaofeng, why would he act this way toward us? Especially when we could very well be enemies!"
"What? He’s Junior Brother Xiaofeng?" Tang Qianyu gasped in shock. "But then why is he planning to raid our own family’s planet?"
Tang Hao’s eyes widened as he recalled the clone’s words and mannerisms. After a moment, he nodded. "Now that you mention it... I do see the resemblance."
The three of them discussed it at length before deciding to keep observing for now.
After the Spirit Cat Warship sped away from the Exorcism Galaxy for two or three days, it turned back. Five days later, it returned to the An family’s uninhabited planet via void teleportation.
Only then did the first clone emerge from his spatial world. After scanning the planet and its surroundings with his golden pupils, he turned to Tang Xinyao and the others.
"The An family has stationed many experts here—ranging from ninth-level Sovereigns to first and second-level Unity cultivators, led by a third-level Unity elder."
"If you keep following me, they might misunderstand. Why don’t you wait here in the void?"
Tang Xinyao turned to the first clone and asked, "But can you handle them alone?"
"As long as you don’t come with us, we’ll be just fine," the clone replied with a chuckle.
Tang Xinyao immediately understood—they must have some secret technique or treasure they didn’t want to reveal in front of them.
"Alright then, we’ll wait here for you," she agreed without hesitation.
Ye Liuyun then opened the hatch and let them disembark. After stowing away the Spirit Cat battleship, he draped himself in an invisibility cloak and vanished before their eyes.
