Chapter 2896: Chapter 2896

Tang Xiaofeng and Tang Wan still remembered the time they had entered the Frenzied Battle Secret Realm with their fellow disciples.

Back then, they were both only at the first level of the Dominator Realm, facing beasts of the same tier. However, the sheer number of beasts overwhelmed them, and all their companions perished in the battle.

The two of them, being the youngest at the time, had been protected and sent out of the secret realm by the others. The experience left deep psychological scars, making them too afraid to ever return. As a result, their progress stagnated, relegating them to the ranks of ordinary Tang Clan disciples, only fit for patrol duties.

Within the Tang Clan, only the most talented disciples dared to venture into the secret realm for training—ordinary members wouldn’t even consider attempting it. Even Tang Xiao, despite his skill, only dared to enter as part of a group, never alone.

For Ye Liuyun and his clone, handling beasts of the same level wasn’t too difficult. Though he noticed these creatures were stronger than average, they still fell within his capabilities.

He didn’t dare summon any of his contracted beasts or allies, however. From the memories of Tang Xiao, Tang Xiaofeng, and the others, he knew that the more people he brought out, the more beasts would attack them.

*"Let’s just train with the two of us for now. The others can join once we’ve secured the secret realm!"* He and his clone quickly agreed on this before diving into battle.

Neither of them used their temporal powers, focusing purely on honing their combat skills. The beasts they fought were real, so after killing them, they could store the carcasses in their spatial worlds.

After an hour, the number of beasts emerging from the thick mist dwindled until they finally stopped altogether.

Ye Liuyun and his clone immediately retreated into their spatial world to replenish their Profound Energy.

Though he had spent half the battle relying on his blade intent, the other half had been a relentless expenditure of Profound Energy, nearly draining him completely. Neither he nor his clone had used any other abilities—no soul attacks, no temporal powers.

*"The consumption is too high! In the next battle, I’ll probably have to use everything I’ve got."* While recovering, Ye Liuyun began strategizing for the next fight.

The next wave would bring beasts at the eighth level of the Dominator Realm. According to Tang Xiao’s memories, the best-performing Tang Clan disciple had managed to fight across three realms—though they had withdrawn before finishing the battle.

Ye Liuyun had to admit that sustaining combat against such overwhelming odds was no small feat. Even he wasn’t entirely sure if he could handle a three-realm gap.

Once he and his clone had fully restored their Profound Energy, they emerged from the spatial world. The breaks between battles here were long enough that, with the time acceleration in the clone’s spatial world, they could fully recover before the next fight.

He and his doppelganger continued deeper into the secret realm. After exiting the valley, they found themselves facing another stretch of flatland encircled by several towering peaks.

The moment Ye Liuyun and his doppelganger stepped in, another bestial roar echoed around them. From the surrounding mountains, savage beasts charged toward them.

"Dominator-level eighth-tier beasts. Time to fight!" Ye Liuyun called to his doppelganger, positioning himself at the center of the clearing, ready for battle.

This time, both he and his doppelganger unleashed lightning and Golden Crow Sacred Flames from their golden pupils, launching preemptive strikes before the beasts could even close in.

Using these abilities helped conserve his Xuan Yuan energy. By Ye Liuyun’s estimation, relying solely on Xuan Yuan without supplementary powers would make it impossible to endure the entire battle.

Soon, they swung their blades, cutting down the relentless beasts while occasionally striking out with palm attacks to repel those that got too close. The creatures showed no fear of death, surging forward endlessly, leaving no room for respite.

Halfway through the fight, both Ye Liuyun and his doppelganger exhausted their Xuan Yuan reserves. Forced into a defensive stance, they conjured walls of Golden Crow Sacred Flames to block the beasts’ advance while slashing with blade intent. Meanwhile, they clutched sources of primordial energy in their free hands, absorbing it to replenish their strength.

"Feels a lot like the Hundred Battles Arena in Lingxiao Sect—except these beasts are real!"

Ye Liuyun mused inwardly, wondering where so many savage beasts in this secret realm had come from. Unlike constructs of spiritual energy, these were flesh and blood, meaning they had to be replenished somehow.

He and his doppelganger had fallen into the rhythm of the Hundred Battles Arena. But now, with his enhanced soul force, multitasking was effortless.

Just then, a few beasts attempted a soul attack. Blocked by the Golden Crow Sacred Flames, their charge had slowed, and the impatient ones resorted to this method.

A smirk curled Ye Liuyun’s lips. With the Ten Thousand Gods Token in his sea of consciousness, he didn’t even need to lift a finger against soul assaults. His doppelganger’s soul power, far surpassing that of Dominator-level eighth-tier beasts, easily annihilated any invading spirits with a single thought.

Seeing their soul attacks fail, the beasts abandoned the tactic and resumed their assault on the fire wall. Those with water and ice attributes led the charge.

Ye Liuyun and his doppelganger focused their blades on eliminating these flame-resistant beasts. The moment their Xuan Yuan recovered slightly, they struck again, cutting down more enemies before immediately resuming absorption to restore their energy.

By the later stages, even his Xuan Yuan recovery couldn’t keep up. Blade intent remained his primary weapon, but he deployed everything—Golden Crow Sacred Flames, Netherworld Ghost Flames, and lightning—to hold the line.

In the final stretch, he released Thunderclap, the Dragon Maiden, the White Tiger, the Stone Ape, and other beasts ruling the eighth layer, allowing them all to get some combat practice.

To his surprise, the number of beasts—which had already dwindled—suddenly surged again. A deafening roar echoed from the mist, and a fresh wave of savage creatures poured forth.

Thunderclap and the others, however, were exhilarated. Without hesitation, they reverted to their true forms and plunged into battle against the beasts.

Ye Liuyun reminded them to conserve their energy and had his doppelganger return to the spatial realm to replenish his reserves. He also withdrew his twin flames, letting the beasts around him fight to their hearts’ content.

Yet, in less than half an hour, the beasts around him gradually retreated, their energy completely drained.

Though they had taken Ye Liuyun’s warning to heart, none of them had expected the sheer number of beasts here. As they surveyed the vast clearing now teeming with creatures, unease crept in.

Even Ye Liuyun’s twin flames showed signs of faltering against the relentless onslaught.

"Thunderclap, Nine-Headed Fiend Dragon—use your radiant beams to thin their numbers!"

With no other choice, Ye Liuyun ordered the two to unleash their blinding white light, knowing they stood no chance against such overwhelming odds otherwise.

Thunderclap and the Nine-Headed Fiend Dragon swept the battlefield with their radiant beams, annihilating swathes of beasts. But in doing so, they exhausted the last of their energy reserves.
