Chapter 2804: Chapter 2804

At this moment, both sides were entirely focused on the Demon-Sealing Stele, leaving Ye Liuyun relatively safe for the time being.

But as he watched the massive stele hurtling downward with increasing speed—its weight like a collapsing mountain—and still no reaction from Fuyang, he realized the ruse had failed. The sheer force of the stele made it nearly impossible for the alien creatures below to withstand the impact. Just as Ye Liuyun debated whether to use his remaining time-manipulation powers again, the Demon-Slaying Blade began to hum urgently, as if urging him to act.

"Fine, one more round!"

With a decisive motion, Ye Liuyun channeled his temporal energy once more, clearing another wave of obstructing aliens from the stele’s path. He conserved the last remnants of his power—his lifeline—not daring to expend it recklessly.

The alien commander, having received no aid from Fuyang, knew that if the stele landed, all would be lost. As long as the altar remained intact, escape was still a possibility.

With a flick of his wrist, he crushed the communication talisman and led every remaining elite warrior in a desperate charge to halt the stele’s descent.

The colossal force of the falling monument clashed against the combined might of the alien elites, driving them downward another fraction.

"ROAR!"

The commander bellowed, rallying his forces to hold firm.

"ROAR—!"

In unison, the remaining four hundred elite warriors roared back, muscles straining as they fought to keep the stele from crushing the altar.

For now, they succeeded—the stele hovered just above the sacred platform, locked in a precarious stalemate as it siphoned their strength while pressing relentlessly downward.

Meanwhile, the rest of the alien army surged forward, reinforcements flooding in from all sides.

"Now!"

Ye Liuyun immediately swung his Demon-Slaying Blade, unleashing his companions as they charged toward the alien horde, preventing them from reinforcing the defense against the Demon-Sealing Stele.

Meanwhile, the Demon Vine slithered down stealthily, darting straight for the altar. With a single whip of its tendrils, it shattered the entrance, sealing it off. Countless vine-like appendages then lashed out, piercing deep into the altar’s structure before violently tearing away an entire section. The altar was now all but ruined—useless without extensive repairs.

"Roar!" The alien commander bellowed in fury, realizing they had failed to protect the sacred site.

The Demon Vine didn’t stop there. Its tendrils lashed toward the aliens resisting the Demon-Sealing Stele, simultaneously battering the altar while weakening the enemy’s defenses, draining their energy.

Ye Liuyun and his comrades plunged into the fray, their blades flashing as they carved through the alien ranks. The Demon-Slaying Blade hummed with an almost manic excitement, though Ye Liuyun had no time to question its strange fervor. As long as it fought smoothly, he let it be.

Ye Liuyun, Ye Tiandao, and Liang Xue led the charge, their swords and blades cutting a deadly path. At the rear, Leiming and the Dragon Girl shielded the less combat-ready women, while the other beasts and female warriors formed a defensive line, holding back the alien tide.

Against an army of hundreds of thousands, Ye Liuyun’s group didn’t falter—instead, they forced the enemy to a standstill. The Demon-Slaying Blade cleaved through swathes of aliens with each swing, and Ye Liuyun himself lost track of time, lost in the exhilaration of unrestrained slaughter.

"Kill, kill, kill!" The blade pulsed with bloodlust, feeding his domineering sword intent, sharpening his edge with every strike.

"Kill!"

Roaring in unison with his weapon, Ye Liuyun became a whirlwind of steel, his blade dancing so fiercely that none could approach. He was no longer just a man—he was a storm of death, a blur of unstoppable motion.

Ye Liuyun continued his relentless advance, carving a bloody path deep into the alien army’s ranks. Both Liang Xue and Ye Tiandao struggled to keep pace with him.

Surrounded by enemies on all sides, he held nothing back—any who drew near met the swift, merciless edge of his blade. The air around him was thick with the spray of blood and the crumpled bodies of fallen foes.

The Demon-Slaying Saber chanted incessantly in his mind—*Kill, kill, kill*—its bloodlust gradually synchronizing with Ye Liuyun’s own rhythm.

"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

Each swing of his blade was punctuated by the savage cry, as if the weapon itself were roaring through him.

"What’s happening to him?" Liang Xue asked, her brow furrowed in concern.

"His blade intent is nearing the realm of unity—where man and weapon become one," Ye Tiandao replied, admiration lacing his voice.

"Oh... I thought he was losing himself to demonic influence," Liang Xue admitted, relieved yet still uneasy.

At this point, Ye Liuyun could no longer tell whether the killing chant came from his own lips or the saber in his hand. All he knew was that enemies stretched endlessly before him, and his overwhelming blade intent was unstoppable. His sole purpose now was to slaughter every last one of these invaders.

He and the Demon-Slaying Saber moved as a single entity—no longer did he feel like he was wielding it. The blade obeyed his will instinctively, striking wherever his mind directed. It was impossible to say whether the saber guided him or he guided the saber. Their thoughts were one: *Slaughter all in their path, cut down every foe, advance without hesitation.*

None dared stand in their way—and none could. Whether clad in armor or wielding weapons, the alien warriors fell in a single, devastating stroke.

Within the depths of Ye Liuyun’s consciousness, the seed of his blade intent burned ever brighter, radiating a terrifying, domineering aura. The sheer ferocity of it even startled the Book Demon dwelling in his mind.

But the Book Demon merely chuckled in delight, sidestepping the violent energy without a word.

Where Ye Liuyun passed on the battlefield, the ground was littered with mangled corpses.

Beneath the Demon-Sealing Stele, the sacrificial altar had been utterly destroyed by the demonic vines. Now, those same vines aided the stele in consuming the fallen invaders.

Seeing the situation turning against him, the foreign commander ordered his subordinates to cover his retreat while he swiftly withdrew to regroup with the main forces.

Upon returning to the central command, he found the entire army at a standstill.

"Full advance!" he immediately barked the order.

With the altar destroyed, there was no turning back. Now was the time to strike—while their enemies had no reinforcements—and eliminate as many as possible.

Meanwhile, Liang Xue and the others had regrouped with Ye Tiandao, forming a defensive perimeter instead of following Ye Liuyun deeper into the enemy ranks. They knew better than to risk getting trapped and forcing Ye Liuyun to rescue them later. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

Before long, Ye Liuyun’s doppelgänger arrived. Having completed his mission of destroying the altar, he had teleported over using the Black Tower. His presence reassured Liang Xue and the others—now they had even less reason to worry about Ye Liuyun’s safety.

The doppelgänger wasted no time. He summoned the demon army to shield Liang Xue’s group, then grabbed Ye Tiandao to join Ye Liuyun in honing their blade intent.

Three streaks of razor-sharp energy tore through the enemy forces like a hot knife through butter. A’Xing itched to join them, but her blade mastery was still too weak—she didn’t want to distract Ye Liuyun, so she reluctantly held back.

The moment the doppelgänger struck, he seamlessly merged with his Heaven-Devouring Blade, mirroring Ye Liuyun’s own unity with his weapon. Their blade intent resonated as one.

Under their influence, Ye Tiandao gradually slipped into the same state—her movements fluid, her strikes relentless. With each swing of her warblade, her core grew more refined, evolving into a flawless, blade-forged golden core.
