Chapter 2799: Chapter 2799

Ye Liuyun was certain that the alien altar would be guarded by at least a few ninth-level Dominators.

This battle was going to be tough for him and his allies. He urged everyone to stay calm and play the long game, slowly wearing down the enemy. After discussing with Yu Xiaofeng and the others, they settled on a strategy of attrition—picking off the alien warriors one by one.

Apart from Ye Liuyun himself, his doppelgänger led one team, while the Purple Kylin Snake, the Demon Vine, Lei Ming, the Nine-Headed Beast, and others formed another. The elite fighters of the Vanguard Regiment also assembled into a separate squad. These groups took turns raiding different sectors, ambushing alien patrols.

Even ordinary alien soldiers weren’t spared—they were captured and later used to build an alien army under Ye Liuyun’s control.

The aliens quickly adapted, hiding stronger warriors among their patrols to counterattack. But with too few ninth-level Dominators to spare, these elites ended up being captured by Ye Liuyun’s forces instead.

Forced into a corner, the aliens tightened their defenses, waiting for Ye Liuyun to make his move. But he was in no hurry. His teams taunted the enemy daily, luring them into skirmishes. Ye Liuyun and his doppelgänger even used time manipulation to infiltrate alien ranks, snatching targets before vanishing just before their power wore off—always staying just out of reach.

The constant harassment drove the aliens to frustration. Every time they mustered their forces for an all-out assault, Ye Liuyun’s group retreated beyond reach. The moment the alien army withdrew, his teams would reappear, resuming their relentless raids.

When the aliens sent out their strongest warriors, Ye Liuyun simply captured them. If they deployed all their elites at once, his forces would still withdraw, refusing a direct confrontation. Day after day, they found new ways to abduct more aliens—no target was too insignificant.

After several failed pursuits, the alien elites grew complacent, their vigilance waning. That was when Ye Liuyun struck.

In a sudden ambush, he and his doppelgänger turned the tables, seizing numerous alien warriors in a flash. The Purple Kylin Snake followed up, slaughtering even more. Then, eight ninth-level Dominators, the Demon Vine, and the Demon-Sealing Stele joined the fray, while the Vanguard Regiment encircled the enemy. Over a thousand alien elites were wiped out before Ye Liuyun’s forces swiftly retreated.

By the time the main alien army arrived, the battlefield was empty—not a single corpse remained. The slain had all been fed to the Demon Vine, fueling its breakthrough to the next realm.

Ye Liuyun and his team continued employing the same hit-and-run tactics, relentlessly harassing the alien forces.

Finally pushed to their limits, the aliens divided their army and elite warriors into three groups, attempting to encircle Ye Liuyun’s forces. But Ye Liuyun kept retreating until the distance was just right—then he boarded the Spirit Cat battleship and vanished without a trace.

Just as the aliens were speculating whether he had gone into hiding or fled, they suddenly received word that their base was under attack by Ye Liuyun. Panicked, they immediately turned back to defend it.

But Ye Liuyun had already seized the time gap to unleash all eight of his Dominator Ninth-Realm alien captives, launching a devastating assault on the base. Not only was the altar obliterated—the entire planet was shattered into fragments.

A single Dominator Ninth-Realm alien had been left behind to guard the base, but Ye Liuyun and a red-armored alien subdued it together, bringing his total number of high-ranking alien subordinates back to nine.

Many of the other elite warriors and soldiers guarding the altar were also captured. Meanwhile, his doppelgänger led the Demon Vine and other powerful allies in raiding over a dozen planets, draining their source energy. The Demon Vine, at least, wouldn’t be short on cultivation resources for a while.

Before the alien army could return, Ye Liuyun and his forces boarded the Spirit Cat battleship again, warping through space to escape the alien-controlled star system—leaving their enemies empty-handed once more.

This guerrilla warfare left the aliens utterly frustrated. Ye Liuyun’s golden pupils gave him an overwhelming advantage, allowing him to anticipate their every move before they even acted. The aliens found themselves powerless, unable to strike back effectively as he whittled away at their forces bit by bit. In desperation, they kept summoning reinforcements from nearby regions to bolster their defenses.

During this time, Ye Liuyun also intercepted two reinforcement fleets dispatched from neighboring sectors. Some of the alien reinforcements, traveling by battleship instead of expending energy on the altar’s teleportation arrays, ended up with most of their forces captured.

Now, the number of elite warriors under his command had skyrocketed, and his alien army had swelled to tens of thousands—a modest but formidable force. Still, it was nowhere near enough to challenge the full might of the alien race.

Then, the aliens abruptly changed tactics. They stopped sending out patrols altogether, instead stationing all their forces on the planets within their star system, refusing to budge.

Curious, Ye Liuyun moved in closer to observe, but the aliens remained completely unresponsive.

"Huh, they’ve got a new commander!" His golden pupils detected the change—a new leader, also at the Dominator Eighth-Realm, but with an unusually dense and refined energy.

This new commander had a head resembling a ram’s, complete with two curved horns and a tuft of a goatee. Its humanoid body, however, was covered in pale gray scales, and its hands ended in razor-sharp, eagle-like talons.

All the alien races had now huddled together in tight defensive formations. With them staying holed up, Ye Liuyun and his team found no openings to strike.

"This commander’s tactics are clearly tailored against us!" Ye Liuyun remarked after scouting the situation, returning to discuss with the group.

When he mentioned the goat-shaped alien commander, Broken Horn immediately pressed for details. After listening, it informed Ye Liuyun that this was Fuyang, a high-ranking elder of the Alien Council—someone on the same level as Broken Horn himself, part of their supreme leadership.

"Fuyang’s unique trait is his extraordinary vision—far beyond any ordinary being—and his immensely powerful soul cultivation. He’s trained at least four soul manifestations, each stronger than the last!" Broken Horn explained.

"Stronger than that hidden soul manifestation you had before?" Ye Liuyun asked.

Only then did he recall that Fuyang had indeed seemed to glance in his direction earlier. At the time, he hadn’t paid much attention and wasn’t sure if Fuyang had actually spotted him.

"Absolutely," Broken Horn stated firmly. "His strengths lie in his sight and soul-based attacks."

"So, he definitely saw me then? Can he gauge my strength?" Ye Liuyun deduced from Broken Horn’s description that Fuyang must have noticed him.

"At that distance, he could definitely see you clearly. But his vision isn’t penetrative—he can’t assess your actual power. As for whether he can detect soul energy... I can’t say for sure. Some in the Council speculate his eyes can perceive souls, others disagree. There’s no definitive answer," Broken Horn clarified.

"Then we’d better assume the worst. Let’s prepare as if he can gauge the strength of soul energy!" Ye Liuyun decided, unwilling to take any chances.
