Chapter 2391: Chapter 2391 Plundering Resources

In this conflict, Ye Liuyun did not entirely annihilate the Lord’s manor. He wasted no time after destroying Lord Zhenxing and then immediately began plundering resources before making a quick retreat.

As a result, many survivors within the manor could confirm that Lord Zhenxing had indeed been slain.

Once Ye Liuyun had dealt with Lord Zhenxing, he hurried back to Valorcrest to reunite with Yuan Hu.

He released his hundred-thousand-strong army, keeping only three thousand elite soldiers by his side. The rest were placed under Wyang Wei’s command, stationed in a canyon outside the city for recuperation.

Ye Liuyun also made a trip to the Stygian’s base to turn in his bounty, earning himself a hefty sum of points.

A great deal of wealth was bestowed upon Ye Liuyun by the Sanctuary Dynasty via Yuan Hu. He was extremely fortunate to received a double windfall.

By Wyang Wei’s estimation, the resources Ye Liuyun had acquired from this venture would sustain his army for five years.

However, Ye Liuyun believed it was insufficient, especially when compared to the riches of the Sanctuary Dynasty.

If they failed to ally with the Sanctuary Dynasty, they wouldn’t have much of a fighting chance against the Foreign race in a full-scale invasion.

Thus, accompanied by Liang Xue and Wu Qingcheng, he set off once more to the capital to strike deals with the largest suppliers of medicinal herbs and weapon refining.

These vendors were struggling to make ends meet after the merchant guilds were stripped to the core. Ye Liuyun stepped in just as needed, setting in motion a massive acquisition.

In addition to making deals, he also assumed control of the leaders of these factions, solidifying his hold on the supply chain for resources.

Meanwhile, he was actively recruiting alchemists and weapon refining talents, and constantly dispatched them to Moyana Island and Outpost Island.

The influx of skilled alchemists and weapon refining masters significantly elevated the craftsmanship in those two worlds. The steady supply of medicinal herbs and raw materials also led to a rapid accumulation of resources.

All of this contributed to a dramatic rise in the martial practitioners of those two realms.

Ye Liuyun had the alchemists and weapon-refining masters he’d brought into his spatial world. He then unreservedly taught their skills to the hundreds of thousands of inhabitants.

This would gradually cultivate a pool of reserve talents among the populace.

Simultaneously, his allies uncovered a plethora of materials that may drastically increase their power from the looted merchant guild inventory.

Only those like Liang Xue, who had reached the late-stage of the ninth realm, began slowing their cultivation to prepare for breaking through to the legendary tenth realm.

The Demon beasts that had broken through to the first level of Heavenly Realm also tempered their pace, focusing on refining their genuine energy and attuning themselves more deeply to the power of heaven and earth.

With such clear direction, everyone’s cultivation became more purposeful.

Meanwhile, Ton Xin and others tirelessly forged equipment, stockpiling resources for future usage.

Ye Liuyun and his clone seized this period to train relentlessly within the Xuankong Stone, accelerating their breakthrough to the tenth realm.

At the former manor of Wan Weihou, Yuan Hu successfully recruited and began training a new troops of one hundred thousand.

The Sanctuary Dynasty appointed a new ruler, Lord Zhiyang, to govern the capital.

Gradually bringing order to the devastated regions, he filled the vacant marquis position and military commander posts across the region upon his accession.

Lord Zhiyang promoted Yuan Hu to the position of Grand Commander, responsible for leading an army of one million soldiers throughout his region, and sent him to guard the Capital.

Seizing the opportunity, Yuan Hu incorporated Ye Liuyun’s hundred thousand troops into his troops.

Under Ye Liuyun’s suggestion, Yuan Hu conducted large-scale military drills with this massive force.

Primarily because Ye Liuyun wanted to observe how battles of such scale should be commanded.

Although Ye Liuyun had led troops before, he was still keen on learning from Yuan Hu about manoeuvring and commanding large-scale battles.

After the military drills concluded, Yuan Hu began reorganising the army. Several uncooperative commanders were promptly dismissed.

The soldiers were also reassigned, with three hundred thousand elite troops handpicked and transferred to Ye Liuyun’s Shangwu Legion, effectively bolstering his forces.

Later, the rest of the soldiers were posted out to garrison in various regions.

After several months of adjustments, the local situation finally stabilised.

Aside from his daily cultivation, Ye Liuyun took on more missions from the Stygian.

Many of these assignments required him to operate across distant regions.

As long as the reward points were tempting enough, he would take the risk and act.

With three thousand elite warriors under his command, accomplishing tasks proved simple. Except when he was required to attack a noble’s estate. Hence, his level quickly rose back to Level Four.

His cultivation also showed signs of a breakthrough. Throughout this period, he deliberately avoided any elixirs that artificially boosted his advanced energy, relying solely on natural spiritual energy for progress. Naturally, this consumed a considerable amount of Spirit crystals.

Fortunately, with Ye Ling by his side, he never ran out of Spirit crystals. In fact, his supply only increased.

However, since he also spent excessively on medicinal herb and raw resources, the divine crystals he robbed diminished rapidly.

Just then, Qiong Qi sent him a message.

"I’ve located several Spirit crystal canyon. Interested?"

Ye Liuyun knew full well that all Spirit crystal canyon within the Sanctuary Dynasty were the exclusive property of the Sanctuary Dynasty.

So he asked Qiong Qi, "How many soldiers are guarding it?"

"Two hundred thousand!" Qiong Qi replied.

"That many of them?Forget it. The Sanctuary Dynasty’s elite warriors are often the ones stationed to protect mineral deposits. Taking on those guards would need at least an army of equivalent size," according to Ye Liuyun.

"But there are fifteen mineral veins there, and they contain Spiritual Marrow!" Qiong Qi tempted him further.

Ye Liuyun felt a stir of interest but probed further. "Where exactly is the place?"

"Hehehe, the location’s perfect. It’s just outside the territories of all ten Lords!" Qiong Qi chuckled.

"Where is that?" Ye Liuyun had never heard of such a place.

"Not that well-informed, are you?" Qiong Qi teased before explaining.

"South of the Sanctuary Dynasty lies a vast ocean teeming with sea beasts. There’s an island garrisoned by two hundred thousand soldiers guarding fifteen mineral veins."

"I stumbled upon it while wandering and heard the local fishermen talk about it. Then I captured one of the soldiers to confirm the information and guess what? The intel’s solid."

"But why would they stash mineral veins on an island? If there’s a Conveyor Formation there, reinforcements could arrive instantly," Ye Liuyun questioned.

"No idea why. That’s exactly why I want you to investigate with me. If we can sneak in, who cares about a Conveyor Formation? We’ll just destroy it. The island’s far from the mainland."

"Without the Conveyor Formation, their reinforcements would take half a month to get there. Plenty of time for us to mine the veins." Qiong Qi dangled the bait again.

Ye Liuyun pondered. He wouldn’t mind having more Spirit Crystal for now.

Those two hundred thousand guards wouldn’t be too hard to handle if they could cut off their reinforcement from getting there. In the process, they could potentially capture a lot of prisoners.
