Chapter 2338: Chapter 2338 Complete Silence

After entering the formation, the clone instructed Lao Yuanfeng to manipulate it and separate the three martial practitioners. He then engaged each of them one by one to use them as practice opponents.

Each time, he exhausted their genuine energy before devouring the power of their Divine Souls.

Some assassins observing from outside were visibly shaken.

"This guy has already fought four people in a row! He must be nearly drained!"

"Send more in! I refuse to believe we can’t wear him down!"

These martial practitioners happened to know one another, so two more were sent into the Formation.

To their surprise, the clone didn’t take them on one by one. Instead, he faced both simultaneously in a daring two-against-one battle.

After a fierce fight, Ye Liuyun was left battered and bloodied, but he ultimately drained both of their genuine energy and finished them off.

"He can’t last much longer! Everyone, go in at once!" someone outside shouted, rallying the remaining six martial practitioners to charge into the Formation together.

They also believed that breaking the formation as a group of six would be much easier.

The clone merely chuckled, then swiftly consumed a drop of Vital Waters. His injuries healed completely in an instant, and he immediately replenished his virtuoso energy to full.

Just then, Ye Liuyun’s main body completed its fusion and was ready to join the clone in battle. Lei Ming also requested to step out and train himself in real combat. Thus, the fight turned into a three-against-six confrontation.

To ensure Lei Ming wouldn’t be exposed to unnecessary danger, Ye Liuyun and the clone struck first. They used the power of their Divine Souls to eliminate one assassin in the blink of an eye.

These assassins were actually slightly stronger than Hei Feng. So much so that Hei Feng, watching from the sidelines, couldn’t help but feel alarmed. But Ye Liuyun, the clone, and Lei Ming remained unbothered.

Lei Ming faced off against a single assassin, swinging his Thunder Hammer in a ferocious barrage. His opponent was soon disoriented and ultimately struck down, reduced to charred remains by a burst of lightning.

Ye Liuyun and his clone, wielding blade and palm in perfect tandem, took on the rest of the enemies. Once Lei Ming joined the fray, the battle became even more lopsided. With their combined strength, the three of them quickly dispatched all the remaining martial practitioners.

Afterward, Lei Ming gathered the bodies and stored them in Ye Liuyun’s Spatial World. Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun and the clone returned to the Xuankong Stone to begin their breakthrough.

Following such intense expenditure of strength and energy, Ye Liuyun could no longer suppress his realm and his advancement was inevitable.

Hei Feng, on the other hand, stood frozen in awe. She had originally believed Ye Liuyun had defeated Old Specter merely through skillful tactics. She never imagined he was also this formidable in raw combat.

Outside the villa, everything finally fell into silence. No martial practitioners remained in hiding.

However, Ye Liuyun still instructed Zhao Hu and Yu Yao to guard the door, remaining vigilant against the assassin who was still hiding nearby.

He figured that despite his earlier intense battle, it probably wasn’t enough to scare the assassin away. Once the assassins set their sights on a target, they rarely give up so easily. Most likely, they were simply waiting for the right opportunity.

Inside the Xuankong Stone, Ye Liuyun and his clone were also seizing the moment to break through their cultivation stage.

He hadn’t expected that such a brutal series of battles would actually cause his suppressed realm to erupt uncontrollably.

Just then, Hei Feng sensed something strange. An invisible sweep of Divine Sense brushed past her, immediately putting her on high alert.

"He’s here!"

The one she referred to was the assassin whose presence the clone had previously detected.

Outside the room, Zhao Hu and Yu Yao instantly grew alert. They extended their Divine Sense in an attempt to locate the intruder, but could not find any trace of the assassin.

Suddenly, a fluctuation rippled through the Formation. Lao Yuanfeng’s carefully constructed Formation was being forcefully unraveled.

A martial practitioner, completely wrapped in a black cloak, suddenly appeared in the center of the courtyard. Without hesitation, Zhao Hu and Yu Yao launched a joint attack at him.

However, the black-robed figure immediately turned and fled toward the courtyard’s edge.

“Where do you think you’re going?!” Zhao Hu shouted as he chase.

"Don’t go after him!" Yu Yao immediately called out in warning. But by then, Zhao Hu had already crossed the courtyard’s boundary.

Yu Yao sighed and leapt onto the courtyard wall, preparing to call Zhao Hu back. But the next moment, they saw Zhao Hu strike the black-cloaked figure and completely shatter him.

The black-robed figure wasn’t a real martial practitioner at all. Beneath the cloak was merely a Metal puppet, devoid of life or consciousness. It had only been infused with a single strand of Divine Sense, enough to animate it for a short while and deceive those nearby.

"Oh no, it’s a trap!" Yu Yao and Zhao Hu immediately turned around and rushed back into the courtyard. However, the formation had already been reactivated, trapping them inside once again. Clearly, the enemy had used a diversion to lure them out and now turned the Formation against them.

Realizing the power of the Formation, they dared not move around recklessly. So they stood there in frustration, waiting for Ye Liuyun to come to their rescue.

At the same time, a shadowy figure silently appeared at the doorway.

Hei Feng grew tense, sensing that this assassin was far from ordinary. She quickly prepared for battle.

The assassin, completely wrapped in a black cloak, raised a hand and struck the door with a palm strike.

Just as the door exploded open, Hei Feng lifted her hand. A phoenix formed from black genuine energy roared outward toward the entrance.

She watched as the figure was engulfed by the attack. But upon closer inspection, she realized only the black cloak had caught fire.

The assassin had already entered the room unharmed.

Strangely, the Formation inside the room did not respond at all. It was likely that this assassin was highly skilled in Formations and had already dismantled the one inside the room.

And then, a loud "boom" echoed through the space.

The Phantom Hand struck.

But just as he landed a blow on the assassin, the assassin retaliated. His reaction was quick. However, his attack landed squarely on Phantom Hand’s Vespera. As a result, Phantom Hand was completely unharmed.

The assassin remained uninjured thanks to a protective garment he wore. However, his position was now exposed. And Phantom Hand’s Invisible Skill made it difficult for him to pinpoint his attacker.

Assassins typically retreat if a single strike fails, especially when there’s still a hidden expert lurking nearby.

So he immediately bolted from the room, attempting to flee the scene.

Unexpectedly, the moment he stepped outside, he was struck head-on by Devil Vine and whipped backward on the spot.

"Smack!"

His back was firmly slapped by Phantom Hand, sending him flying out of the house again.

These two hits were enough to break through his protective clothing completely. He then coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Spurt!

The assassin was flung out of the room once more. He likely never expected to be battered around like a ball.

Yet even in that state, he couldn’t tell what kind of creature had ambushed him.

Devil Vine was already lying in wait outside. This time, instead of whipping him back, it wrapped tightly around him. It bound his virtuoso, then tossed him straight to Hei Feng, awaiting Ye Liuyun’s judgment.

After that, Devil Vine sank back into the ground. Phantom Hand also fell silent once more. Only Hei Feng remained, watching the subdued assassin.

She quickly took his Interspatial Ring to prevent any potential tricks.

In that instant, silence fell completely over the room. There were likely no more assassins lurking nearby. Even if there were, they would have realized by now that there was simply no way to launch an attack on Hei Feng here.

At this moment, Hei Feng was still pondering the strange Devil Vine she had just witnessed, thrashing about so wildly.

She remembered that the one Ye Liuyun had released earlier was a black-clad young man who had burrowed into the ground. So how did this creature appear instead?

"Could that boy be raising a pet beast?" she speculated silently.

She then glanced through the assassin’s interspatial ring. What she didn’t expect was that the emblem within it was different from theirs. It was the mark of a direct subordinate of Stygian.
