Chapter 2331: Chapter 2331 Creating Havoc

"For our records and point tracking, you’ll have to choose an alias. For instance, I’m known as Scythe in here. I’ll be your designated handler whenever you return here."

"How about Liuyun?" Ye Liuyun couldn’t be bothered to think of a fake name, so he simply dropped his surname and used his given name. After all, no one in this realm knew him anyway.

"Good. Stick with this name from now on. We don’t allow a name change."

Scythe acknowledged with a nod, jotting down the name before handing Ye Liuyun the Spirit Crystals as the reward for the Lion Slayer bounty.

Ye Liuyun calculated the Spirit Crystals received and couldn’t help but whistle. "Three billion Spirit crystals? That’s one hell of a payout!"

Then it hit him. The target had been a cultivator of the Omnipotent Level. With that fact, the reward was comparatively low.

Scythe then explained, "Your token has been credited with two points. You can exchange them for Spirit crystals anytime. One point is equivalent to ten billion Spirit Crystals."

"What?" Ye Liuyun’s eyes widened in disbelief. It was shocking to him that a single point was valued at ten billion points.

After some quick calculations, eliminating a formidable foe like the Lion Slayer now seemed like a bargain.

Scythe merely smirked, adding, "That’s nothing. Our direct operative assassins command even higher rates."

Ye Liuyun was enthralled and was itching to quickly accumulate the hundred points upon hearing this.

However, his primary goal remained in his mind. What about identity tokens?" he pressed.

"It is priced at five points or fifty billion Spirit Crystals per token. Plus, you’ll need to provide the person’s divine sense imprint, an image, and their desired name," Scythe replied.

"Fifty billion for a lousy token?" Under his breath, Ye Liuyun muttered. "They aren’t easy to come by, I suppose."

Quickly, he instructed his clone to contact the individuals in his Spatial World. Whomever wished to be out and about needed to prepare fifty billion crystals for an identification token and had their data ready.

He was reluctant to foot the bill for them because of the exorbitant price.

After that, Ye Liuyun proudly had Scythe register an identification token under his name. He immediately forked out five billion Spirit Crystals and retrieved a strand of his Divine sense to be imprinted on the token.

As for the merit points, however, he couldn’t bring himself to spend them.

When the others heard the staggering sum of five billion, only Mo Tianheng and Qiong Qi took action. The two of them coughed up the payment as they grumbled about Ye Liuyun’s stinginess.

Ye Liuyun would only arrange identity tokens for them after he collected the payment. The rest weren’t in a rush and couldn’t bear to part with their wealth. They figured they’d just tag along with Ye Liuyun for now. Besides, they could always register later when the need arose.

After Scythe gathered the information for the three of them, it didn’t take long before he returned with their identity tokens.

"Taht was fast!" Ye Liuyun was taken aback.

"We’ve got contacts," Scythe replied vaguely.

Ye Liuyun inspected the details on the tokens before tucking them away. He then bid Scythe farewell for the time being, explaining that he was off to track down another target from the bounty wall.

"Those targets on the wall aren’t easy to find. Would you like to take on some other missions in the meantime?" Scythe asked.

"Not for now. I’ll consider it when I’ve completed a few tasks," Ye Liuyun declined before swiftly making his exit.

He was worried that his delay might give chance for the scar-faced man to slip out of the secret realm. As for the elderly man selling human organs, he probably would stay on longer.

Yu Yao was waiting for him when he exited. Ye Liuyun immediately dashed out.

After he exited, he made a quick detour into his Spatial World to swap places with his clone.

Meanwhile, he set off to refine the foreign race’s third eye.

With prior experience in refinement, the process went much smoother. He even had Xuan Yuanling fetch a spare Soul Eye from their inventory to refine alongside it.

The clone walked past the silver-haired elderly man’s stall when he led Yu Yao out. As expected, the man with the scars was no longer around. But the elderly man’s stall was once again brimming with merchandise.

This indicated that the elderly guy would not be leaving anytime soon, as he still had a large number of items left. After that, Ye Liuyun and Yu Yao left the secret realm. He then released Qiong Qi and Mo Tianheng to go as they wished while staying in contact with the Sound Transmission Talisman.

Ye Liuyun stashed Yu Yao back into his spatial world and returned to the Stygian Secret Realm.

Though small, the realm had everything one could need. There was an abundance of inns, taverns, brothels and many more.

The clone checked into an inn to keep an eye on the white-haired old man. If anyone came to make a purchase, he would use his Golden Phantom Eyes to check if it was the scar-faced man.

However, everything here was extremely costly. It was three times the normal amount for meals, hotel, and other expenses.

Yu Yao claimed that some of the visitors came to hide from their enemies. There was no room for violence at the brothels and inns, regardless of whether they had a bounty on their head or not.

One could only capture or attack their target when out on the public streets. Hence, this area was a popular hiding place for the affluent as they escaped their relentless pursuers.

The Clone observed the elderly man for three days until his goods dwindled and could no longer fill up the stalls.

Just as he began to worry the old man might leave soon too, the scar-faced man suddenly reappeared.

Overjoyed, the clone sped out of the inn, charging toward the old man’s stall. As he ran, a dark Devil Qi billowed around him, shrouding his entire figure.

The passersby were taken aback by his brazen actions. Such recklessness was unusual in this area.

The old guy with silver hair and the scar-faced man both saw Ye Liuyun. However, Ye Liuyun seemed as if he was fleeing past, paying them no attention.

It wasn’t until the scarred-faced man was in a position right in front of the silver-haired man that the clone launched his attack. With a single deadly strike, a ray of white light pierced through their chests.

In an instant, he shapeshifted into a half-beast form using his Phantom Illusion, letting out a guttural roar to mislead onlookers. The ruse was meant to make others believe the white ray beam attack had come from some summoned beast rather than himself.

Then, just as quickly, he reverted to his original appearance, shrouded in a black cloak, gradually retracting the Devil Qi.

As soon as he completed this intricate cover-up, he was soon surrounded by a dozen black armoured guards. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

"You’d better have a damn good reason, or we won’t hold our mercy," the captain of the guard growled, his intense stare fixed on Ye Liuyun.

"Gladly." The clone flicked his wrist, bringing the two bodies forward. Their faces were exposed when he removed their masks.

The captain stiffened in recognition, then met the clone’s Golden Phantom Eyes. The eyes were gleaming with an unnerving ability to see through deception.

A knowing smirk curled his lips as he waved a dismissive hand at his squad. "Wanted targets. We have no business here."

Without another word, the clone stashed the corpses back into his Interspatial ring and strode toward the Grand Hall to claim his reward.

Whispers trailed him like shadows. Murmurs of envy encircled the atmosphere. "This time, he’s hit the jackpot."

People were in awe of his strange beast companion. They debated about what might have released such a strong beam of white light. Powerful enough to kill two experts at the Omnipotent Level in the blink of an eye.

As for the clone, he was but a mid-Ninth Tier. No one would believe someone of his level could annihilate two experts in one strike.
