Dressed in a red gown with a sheer red shawl draped over, her every movement exuded allure.
Ye Liuyun glanced at her but quickly averted his eyes and replied. "It’s hard to say. Based on preliminary calculations, the journey through the stars alone will take several months. I estimate it will be at least a year or two."
"It could be even more than ten years, right?" Feng Hongxiu inquired once more.
Ye Liuyun nodded, feeling guilty for making Feng Hongxiu to wait so long.
He didn’t want to deceive her. Once he left, anything could happen. It might even be longer than ten or eight years and he was not even sure if he could return.
Both of them fell silent, unsure of what to say next.
Finally, Feng Hongxiu broke the silence by pouring Ye Liuyun a cup of wine. "Let’s consider this meal as a farewell. I prepared it with great care, so make sure you eat well."
"Thank you for your thoughtfulness!" Ye Liuyun replied politely, using the food and drink to mask his discomfort. He also took the opportunity to outline his various plans.
Feng Hongxiu engaged in conversation with him. After he finished eating, she called for the maids to serve tea.
She reclined on a soft couch, chatting casually with Ye Liuyun.
The room was lit by flickering red candles, creating an intimate atmosphere that made Ye Liuyun avoid looking directly at her.
Just as Ye Liuyun was about to leave, Feng Hongxiu casually instructed the maids. "He’s staying here tonight. Go and prepare everything."
"Yes, ma’am!" The maids responded, heading off to prepare the bath and extra bedding.

Feng Hongxiu replied, "What’s inappropriate about it? It’s bound to happen sooner or later. You’re leaving for such a long time, shouldn’t you give me some recognition before you go?"
"..." Ye Liuyun was at a loss for words.
Feng Hongxiu continued, "To welcome you, I’ve been wearing these accessories all day. Help me take them off and there’s no need to call the maids in for this."
"Oh." Ye Liuyun responded, then quickly realized his reply might have sounded too intimate. He then added, "I really don’t know much about women’s accessories."
"Yes," the maid replied, looking at Ye Liuyun.
"All right!" Ye Liuyun conceded, walking over and sitting on the edge of the soft couch to help her remove the accessories. He kept his gaze steady, not daring to let it wander.
He truly was clumsy at it and only managed to take off some of the pieces with Feng Hongxiu’s guidance.
Just then, a maid entered to announce that the bath was ready and Ye Liuyun could go to bathe.
"Go ahead and bathe. Let them attend to you!" Feng Hongxiu said to Ye Liuyun.
"No, no need!" Ye Liuyun quickly declined.
Seeing Ye Liuyun’s awkwardness, Feng Hongxiu could not help but laugh.
"Suit yourself!" She then instructed the maid, "Just bring him there."
"Yes!" The maid replied, looking at Ye Liuyun.
Not wanting to embarrass Feng Hongxiu in front of the maid, Ye Liuyun had no choice but to follow the maid to bathe. He felt as though he could not escape this situation.
Thinking about Feng Hongxiu’s arrangements, he could understand her feelings. After all, he really did not know how long it would be before he could return.
He relaxed and went into the bathtub, intending to enjoy a comfortable soak.
But not long after, he heard footsteps behind him.
"No need to attend to me, you can leave!" Ye Liuyun said casually, lying back in the tub with his eyes closed, assuming it was the maid who had entered.

That night, Ye Liuyun stayed at the Scarlet Cardinal House.
