Initially, their mission went smoothly as they pursued and eliminated the Corpse Demons and Foreign races. However, after two days, Ye Liuyun ordered both teams to halt.
He gradually realized that the foreign races seemed to be luring them deeper into the battlefield, a tactic reminiscent of his previous experience in the Devil Clan realm where he enticed the Devil Clan army into the southern part.
Whenever they considered retreating, there would be some weaker foreign races or the Corpse Demons that provoked them, as if tempting them to continue the pursuit.
"Fall back! They’re luring us forward deliberately!"
Ye Liuyun immediately alerted Lei Ming and Dragon Lady upon discovering the enemy’s ploy.
Fyeng Wanru, who had finally found an opportunity to unleash her killing spree and cultivate her sword will, reluctantly obeyed Ye Liuyun’s command. Despite her dissatisfaction, she ceased her pursuit and retreated with the others.
As soon as they began to withdraw, the foreign races released a batch of primary seventh-realm of Corpse Demons and foreign races to provoke them, seemingly attempting to lure them back into the chase.
Yet, Ye Liuyun remained unshaken. Not only did he lead his troops in a continued retreat, but he also moved closer in Lei Ming’s direction, intending to merge their forces.
The foreign races, realizing their strategy had been exposed, they dropped all pretence and launched a direct pursuit. Both teams were simultaneously attacked by over a hundred foreign races army.
Ye Liuyun’s side fared relatively better. He summoned the Songstress and the Twin Strike. The Songstress used the melodies of her instrument to attack, while Azriel discharged the Endless Seawaters, effectively blocking the onslaught.
Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun’s clone sped towards Lei Ming’s base to rescue them.
On Lei Ming and the Dragon Lady’s side, the only formidable expert was Phantom Hand. Accompanied by Xenocide and Vespera, he launched sneak attacks, but even they couldn’t withstand the assault of a hundred enemies.
Relying on their tremendous physical might, the Brute Bull, Bull Tiger, Megalithic Ape, Lei Ming, and the Dragon Lady stood firm in the frontline to buy time for the rest to retreat.
The Vermilion Bird and Blue Serpentine tried to assist by creating walls of fire and ice, but their efforts were in vain against the relentless foreign race assault.
The Brute Bull was the first to fall. The invisible Vespera attempted to rescue him but was blasted away right before he could. Fortunately, Vespera’s shell equipped him with some defensive mechanisms. He only coughed up a mouthful of blood but failed to save the Brute Bull.
Next, the Megalithic Ape was smashed by the enemy until his body was riddled with cracks. The White Tiger caught him in time and administered a drop of Vital Waters, saving his life. Then, the Bull Tiger was brutally obliterated.
Even Lei Ming and the Dragon Lady, with their formidable physiques, couldn’t withstand the attacks and were severely injured. They quickly donned their Concealcape to evade further harm.
The Demonic Wolf rushed in to help and buy them some time to escape, but was torn apart by a powerful foreign race expert.
Eventually, Phantom Hand arrived just in time to launch an ambush attack to eliminate the foreign race.
The Vermilion Bird and Blue Serpentine also faced foreign race attacks. Fortunately, the foreign race targeting them was killed by Vermilion Bird’s Divine Soul attacks. Blue Serpentine transformed into its original form and fled, but it lost its tail in the process.
At the critical moment, Ye Liuyun’s clone arrived and instantly summoned a thousand Beastmen from his Spatial World to surround and kill the foreign race, rescuing the remaining Demon who survived.
Nevertheless, Ye Liuyun was overcome with remorse for failing to protect them after witnessing the devastation. He sent the wounded to his spatial world’s Vital Water pool so they could heal.
To keep the foreign race or Corpse Demons from devouring deceased Demons, Ye Liuyun instructed the burning of their corpse.
After this, he joined the battle against the foreign races alongside Phantom Hand, seeking vengeance for the perished Demon.
Before long, Ye Liuyun and his entourage showed up. As soon as the pursuing foreign race saw how many soldiers were on Ye Liuyun’s side, they began to withdraw.
The foreign races before them were swiftly eradicated. Ye Liuyun and his clone soon spotted a large group of foreign races closing in on them with their Golden Phantom Eyes.
"Retreat!"
It was Ye Liuyun’s order. He had no intention of staying within the enemy’s ambush zone, even though the number of foreign races coming for them wasn’t overpowering. He wouldn’t risk it as he didn’t know how many more were coming for them.
Thus, Ye Liuyun and his clone led the Beastman army to clear the path ahead, while Phantom Hand, Songstress, and Twin Strike covered the rear. It took them half a day to escape the foreign races’ possible ambush territory.
Nevertheless, the foreign race persisted. Almost 3,000 of them reassembled and resumed pursuing Ye Liuyun and his companions.
"They’re reaching their doom!" Ye Liuyun declared.
He stopped his group and bided his time till the foreign races closed in. Then he sent forth four thousand Beastmen to engage in close combat, and then another five thousand to enclose the foreign race, all while keeping an eye out for more incoming foreign races reinforcements.
The Dragon Lady, Lei Ming, and White Tiger had already recovered from their injuries. Alongside the Vermilion Bird and Xenocide, they immediately rejoined the battle.
Ye Liuyun led his group to charge at the three thousand foreign race once more, avenging the fallen Demons.
In the distance, a blue-scaled foreign race with two thousand armies behind him watched helplessly as his three thousand warriors were ambushed.
"Remember that boy! Let’s return to gather more forces, and then I shall settle the score with him."
He declared, referring to the clone.
They hadn’t anticipated Ye Liuyun’s clone to be accompanied by so many Beastmen. This peculiar, vast Spatial World posed a significant threat to them.
His original plan was to eliminate the clone. However, they had far too few soldiers now to fight the clone effectively.
Moreover, the weapons and armor of the Beastmen were of a high caliber. He believed that if the Beastmen soldiers were to enter a real battlefield, they would undoubtedly pose a serious threat.
Therefore, he needed to devise another strategy to annihilate the Beastman under the Clone’s command.
After the blue-scaled foreign race departed, Ye Liuyun gazed in the direction he had left and muttered, "I’ll be waiting! If you dare kill one of my Demon Beastmen, I’ll make sure ten thousand of your kind pay the price!"
Ye Liuyun’s Golden Phantom Eyes had spotted him. He reckoned that they were leaders and soldiers of the foreign race army, skilled in real war. Ye Liuyun was determined to kill as many of them as possible.
This time, he made the blue-scaled foreign race commander witness the slaughter of his three thousand men, knowing full well that the leader would be furious and return with more forces for a rematch.
"I wish you had the guts to come back!" Ye Liuyun thought to himself, hoping that the blue-scaled foreign race would bring even more soldiers for him to slaughter.
