Mr. Yu Jian, Li Xingrou, and Liu Xing were all appointed to oversee the Main Node.
Ye Liuyun released his Devil Vine and got to work.
Within his Spatial World, he dug out a large quantity of soil and rocks.
Ye Liuyun told Devil Vine, "We have enough time, there’s no need to rush. You take it slowly. Use these rocks and soil to replace all those Alora crystals."
The Devil Vine immediately complied and entered the ground to release its countless tendrils. It worked simultaneously to slowly replace every Alora Crystal within the city.
During the initial few days, fearing detection by the soldiers, they were extra cautious with their covert move.
A few days later, all of the army’s dug-out nodes had been set up. Hence, they began to retreat from their scattered tents to gather in a large camp.
The Devil Vine accelerated its pace significantly. Soon, to was able to replace every Alora Crystals within the city within a day’s time.
The only thing left to replace was the Alora Crystals planted outside of the city. Since no soldiers were guarding it, the Devil Vine managed to accomplish all of it in less than three days.
The Alora crystals in the Main node were now the only ones that needed to be changed. Ye Liuyun was not going to risk it by letting the Devil Vine act carelessly. Ye Liuyun was worried that the eighth-level martial practitioners guarding the Main node would find out about his plan.
He received a message from Xenocide and his clone. They had come across a significant number of troops stationed upon the valley exit from the three sides, thus there was no need to survey the surrounding cities.
On the outskirts, an additional sixty thousand praetorians and fifty thousand men were stationed at the ambushed point.
It seems that the Eastern Royal Management was planning a large-scale annihilation battle.
A few days later, when his clone and the Shadows returned, the Eastern Royal Management’s Formation masters arrived.
As soon as they arrived, they immediately dispersed to establish connections with the Formations. Among them, the strongest Formation Master headed straight toward the city Lord’s Manor, specifically targeting the Library Pavillion.
"Should we stop him?" Mr. Yu Jian, Liu Xing, and Li Xingrou asked Ye Liuyun at the same time.
"Li Xingrou, try to stop him. Have a quick chat with him. Perhaps, inquire something about the current situation of the Royal Management. Engage him in conversation, then only you let him in." Ye Liuyun instructed.
"Huh? Just let him in like that?" Li Xingrou queried, puzzled.
"Stop chattering, hurry up and go!" Ye Liuyun urged.
It was at that moment that Li Xingrou hurried over to him, stopped the Formation Master, and engaged in a brief conversation with him.
"That’s enough, let him go!" A while later, Ye Liuyun signalled Li Xingrou.
Without dallying with the Formation Master any further, Li Xingrou let him into the Library Pavilion.
Under the protection of the martial practitioners in the Library Pavilion, the Formation Master began sketching the formation’s sign everywhere. First within the courtyard, then outside, linking up with the other few explosion points.
After he was done with it, the formation master promptly left the City ord’s Manor.
The disciples were unaware of their activities. After observing the commotion for a bit, they carried on with their work.
The martial practitioners in the Library Pavilion, having observed these disciples and seeing that nobody was bothering, returned to the Library Pavilion at ease.
Ye Liuyun carefully observed the strength of these practitioners, finally having a rough estimate in mind.
At this time, Mr. Yu Jian, Liu Xing, and Li Xingrou rushed over to him, wanting to know why he didn’t take action.
"Stay calm, just do as I tell you to!"
Without further elaboration, Ye Liuyun used the Slaving Seal and Divine Soul Contract to control them, calming them.
In just a few more days, the locally stationed troops began to mobilize. They packed up their tents and equipment, preparing to retreat.
Their explanation to the Northsky Sect was that they were going to lay an ambush in the outer perimeter, coordinating with the Northsky Sect internally and externally. As long as the Northsky Sect and the local defenders could hold out an attack for two hours, they could form a complete surround of the Dark Legion troops, trapping them here for good.
Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun received a message from Yu Xiaofeng. She reported that Murong Tian led his team straight to the walls of Bloody Cloud City. Yu Xiaofeng didn’t even need to set an ambush, as Murong Tian handed himself to them.
Yu Xiaofeng gave Ye Tiandao the order to intercept them and the soldiers to surround and exterminate them when they climbed the city wall.
Li Jian, along with two other sacred disciples that Ye Liuyun had enslaved, instantly surrendered. They revealed their identities and were taken by their troops to be handed over to Yu Xiaofeng.
The remaining disciples were left screaming as they were being slaughtered.
Even when facing ordinary soldiers, they couldn’t hold their ground.
Murong Tian exhausted all treasures to protect himself. With it, he managed to retreat with a few dozen people, only to be blocked by Ye Tiandao again.
In the face of Ye Tiandao’s Blade Legion, they were sorely outmatched.
When Murong Tian knew he was outmatched, he led his troops to surrender by revealing their supposing hidden identities, attempting to scare Ye Tiandao. As a result, Ye Tiandao ordered his troops to behead them all, leaving none alive.
After the battle, when Yu Xiaofeng started counting the dead. None had escaped, the whole army was annihilated.
As for the three sacred disciples, Ye Liuyun left them with Yu Xiaofeng temporarily.
Ye Tiandao, on the other hand, led his Blade Legion to covertly and quickly march towards Regalty. Yu Xiaofeng handed over four Intermediate Eight-level Martial practitioners to Ye Tiandao’s disposal.
Both Ye Liuyun and Yu Xiaofeng speculated that with the present situation, Regalty was defenseless and ripe for a sneak attack.
Meanwhile, Yu Xiaofeng’s army was rapidly heading towards Hidden Mist City. They did not meet any formidable resistance along the way. Hence, their progression was extremely smooth.
Ye Liuyun and his group, accompanied by the disciples of the Northsky Sect, lingered within the city without taking further action.
Mr. Yu Jian, Liu Xing, and Li Xingrou were like ants on a hot frying pan, waiting for Ye Liuyun to commence their operation. Yet, ye Liuyun remained calm and collected.
Only when the Dark Legion was approaching did Ye Liuyun assign them a task, preparing them to confront the enemy.
"Huh? Are we joining the battle?" The trio was baffled.
"Before us is the Dark Legion while the Eastern Royal Management’s army surrounded us from the left, right, and behind. Be prepared for battle. No matter who attacks the city, we will fight back," Ye Liuyun explained.
"What if it is the Eastern Royal Management troops?" Li Xingrou asked.
"Just fight without hesitation!" commanded Ye Liuyun.
"Will the city’s defence forces agree?" Mr. Yu Jian countered.
"I’ll take care of it! You have to mobilize the men. Get on the city walls and prepare for battle!"
Once Ye Liuyun had assigned them tasks, he disappeared after wearing his Concealcape
He first transformed into the appearance of a Formation Master, rushing to the Library Pavilion.
The guards of the Library Pavilion were surprised to see him return. He was invited inside as soon as he mentioned there were issues with the Formation.
Then, with an ambush from Xenocide and Vespera, he and his Clone released their Divine Souls attack. Jing Hui, Ning Fei, and other martial practitioners joined in, quickly gaining control.
With a few Seventh-level martial practitioners and one Eighth-level martial practitioner under his Slaving Seal, he now controlled a new squad of fighters.
The Devil Vine swiftly emptied all the Alora crystals in the Library Pavilion, not even a single book was left behind.
Ye Liuyun then followed the Eighth-level martial practitioner while remaining invisible. He eventually took control of everyone, including the defence commander and the city lord. They also looted the city lord’s resources.
Soon after, they issued a stern order to the city guards.
"When they attack, show no mercy! Not even to the Eastern Royal Management’s army. They are rebels. We must not open the city gates!"
