Chapter 1920: Chapter 1920 Palace Masters’ Witness

Soon, Master Yao brought over two elderly men.

Lin Xiyao immediately approached to greet the two elders the moment she saw them.

"Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster!"

The two headmasters also knew Lin Xiyao and even started joking with her.

"Xiyao, why hasn’t your master visited in such a long time? We old folks are no more fun, eh?"

The headmaster, with a face of about four-fifty and a big belly, fuelled with a down-to-earth aura from head to toe. Though his outfit seemed to be the same in the past few years.

The deputy headmaster looked similar, only a little less unkempt.

These people were obviously career-obsessed alchemists.

"My master has been busy recently..." Lin Xiyao said some polite words as well.

Ye Liuyun was a bit dumbfounded. "I’m just taking a test. Is it really necessary for the two elders to be here?" he said in his mind.

A Level 4 alchemist wasn’t a big deal to him, to be honest.

But in the God Realm, there weren’t many alchemists to begin with. Being a third-level was already quite prestigious in some small towns. Upgrading into the next level had been a tough journey for many of them.

After greeting Lin Xiyao, the elderlies took a seat.

They just nodded to respond to Ye Liuyun’s respectful bow and began sizing him up.

"We shall begin. I hope you’re not wasting our time," the headmaster said directly to Master Yao.

"Yes!" Master Yao nodded, beginning the assessment of a Level Four Alchemist.

This was significantly more difficult than the previous ones.

He had to identify the herbs, determine their approximate age, and explain their characteristics.

Yet, these challenges didn’t deter Ye Liuyun, as detailed records could be found in the Herbal Dictionary Chart.

Next came the test on medicinal knowledge. Master Yao handed Ye Liuyun the prescription for a Transformation Pill and asked him to identify the issues.

Ye Liuyun hadn’t seen this sort of prescription before, let alone crafted this kind of elixirs. He could only analyze based on the properties of the ingredients.

"Firstly, this herb should be refined with Yin-fire," He then continued with a couple more identifications before concluding, "Last but not least, with such prescription, the elixir will take at least an hour work. A drop of feral beast’s blood essence with some spiritual ginseng would make it faster to take effect."

After Ye Liuyun’s explanation, Master Yao was stunned—the answer was obviously not aligned with the scheme. He turned to the two elderlies.

Their faces scrunched with a deep thought.

"Let me take a look at the prescription," the Deputy Headmaster finally broke the silence.

Master Yao immediately passed it to him.

After inspecting it, the Deputy Hall Master burst into laughter. After a quick while, he bursted into laughter.

"Hahaha! Mr. Ma, it seems like your famous elixir truly needs its formula adjusted!"

"Oh no... It’s the Headmaster’s formula!" Ye Liuyun thought, a sense of dread washing over him.

He didn’t take it too seriously; after all, he was already a Level Three Alchemist. He didn’t really care about the level that much anyway.

The Headmaster growled with a dark face, "Ridiculous! You were asked to identify the issues with the prescription, not provide unnecessary advice! Did you know that I’m the one who came up with this formula? How dare you doubt me!"

Lin Xiyao was inwardly tensed for Ye Liuyun, worried that his words could offend the Palace Master and put his rank of fourth-tier alchemist at stake.

Ye Liuyun merely thought that these alchemists from the God Realm were all narrow-minded. First Lin Luoyi, and now the Palace Master was no different.

"The formula is yours. It’s up to you whether you change it or not. I am only putting forth my suggestions."

Still fuming, the Palace Master gripping hard onto his chair and yelled, "You’re not even a fourth-tier alchemist, how dare you offer me advice?"

"Nothing is impossible in this vast world. No one can guarantee that they’re always right. As a high-level alchemist, you can even accept others’ advice..."

He shook his head leisurely cutting off midway, then turned to Master Yao,"Master Yao, can my qualification as Third Level Alchemist be confirmed now?"

He was prepared that his examination would not proceed further because of this.

Suddenly, the Headmaster bursted into laughter, along with the Deputy Headmaster with a huge grin on his face, nodded in approval.

Master Yao too looked at Ye Liuyun with a quiet smile, leaving him completely flabbergasted.

Once he’d finished laughing, he then assured Ye Liuyun, "That was only a show, just to test you. It’s not often that we see young alchemists who have the guts to speak their minds. You carry on with your examination!"

"Uh... since when did this part included in an alchemist test?" Ye Liuyun was utterly baffled inside.

"Hurry up and move on, I can’t wait to see more!" the Deputy Headmaster urged from the side.

And so it continued. He asked Ye Liuyun to simultaneously refine two medicinal herbs with distinct Yin and Yang properties.

Ye Liuyun immediately utilized the both Yin and Yang fires and refined the herbs in just a few moves. Everyone watched, their jaws dropped in shock.

"You have two types of flames?" The Headmaster’s tremulous voice sounded in excitement.

He could even feel the powerful strength of both of his Flame Forces.

Ye Liuyun also nodded in acknowledgment.

"What a prodigy!" the Deputy Headmaster added his compliment.

Lin Xiyao was even more unaware of it. She had only seen him use Yang-fires before.

Ye Liuyun wasn’t trying to showcase at all, but felt this method was the most time-saving.

It would do the same job if he used only one flame and slowly control the temperature, just that it would take more time. He couldn’t wait to finish the test so he could have a meal with Lin Xiyao and getting Mu Lianqing over.

He didn’t want to waste too much time here.

Then came the elixir refining examination. From Level 4 and above, there is no restricted type of elixir, and normally the ingredients will be provided by the Alliance.

He didn’t have time to wait for them to find for the herbs. He took out his own and started his work.

This time, he directly made fifth-tier elixirs - 80 of them at once, because he thought that it would make good use even after the test.

Ye Liuyun took out his own furnace, skillfully putting the herbs in, and his fingers moved in conjunction, controlling different flames’ temperature, and started refining.

The two masters were nodding in approval.

Lin Xiyao could also see that Ye Liuyun had learned her techniques, and some of them had even been improved.

But she couldn’t refine eighty elixirs at a time. Her Divine Soul and Flame Force were not as strong as his.

He even refined herbs of different properties with different flames all at once, made the process much faster than hers.

He often needs to refine materials in large quantities, so he certainly thought about how to save time to refine more pills, and this had become a habit.

By the end, when it was time for the pills to come out, they were all fifth-tier eight-grade, one grade higher than Ye Liuyun’s own ones.

Maybe it was because his flame forces were increased, and improved flame controlling.
