Chapter 1888: Chapter 1888 Got Himself a Servant

Ye Liuyun worried he couldn’t form a Divine Soul contract here, leaving him vulnerable to that woman taking advantage of him when he let his guard down.

"You’re powerful, but there are more tough people here, too! Many have companions and alliances. The wild beasts here are faster than martial practitioners, so hunting them requires teamwork. Surviving alone is difficult without cooperation!" the woman said.

"That’s why I’ve got this!" Ye Liuyun pointed to the three pieces of beast meat he had just put into his bag and smiled.

"I know someone with a sword that would suit you." the woman added.

This time, Ye Liuyun stopped in his tracks.

"This spear is so long and heavy. If I could find the right weapon, I’d be unstoppable." Ye Liuyun thought.

"When you get the sword, you can return this spear to me. How about it? Deal?" the woman pressed.

Ye Liuyun approached her with the spear in hand. Suddenly, he thrust the spear towards her throat and caught her off guard.

"That’s not a deal. You’ll be my guide and servant." he declared.

"You..." She glared at him but eventually agreed.

She had no food or proper weapon, and surviving alone was too risky. Meeting a trustworthy martial practitioner like Ye Liuyun was an opportunity she couldn’t pass up.

"My name is Ye Liuyun. What’s yours?" Ye Liuyun asked after withdrawing his spear.

"Zhao Mingcheng." she replied.

"Were those three people I killed your allies?" Ye Liuyun asked again.

"Sort of." Zhao Mingcheng said.

"What do you mean by ’sort of’?" Ye Liuyun asked in confusion.

He wondered why she hadn’t tried to save them and decided to be cautious around her.

Zhao Mingcheng explained, "Those men had ulterior motives towards me, so I had to stay on guard. I cooperated with them out of necessity."

"When I saw your strength, I hoped you could take them out, and we could team up. I didn’t expect you to be so much stronger!"

She asked Ye Liuyun curiously, "How did you find our hiding place?"

Ye Liuyun glanced at the woman and ignored her question. "I am the master, and you are the servant. Is it your place to question your master? Lead the way to the sword now."

Zhao Mingcheng was furious but didn’t dare show it, so she swallowed her frustration. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Still, she stopped Ye Liuyun. "Wait. The martial practitioner with the sword has a partner with crossbows. We need to make some shields for protection."

Only then did Ye Liuyun pause.

"Are there even crossbows in this secret realm?" Ye Liuyun asked.

"She made them herself. And she wove a set of armor from vines, making her hard to kill!" Zhao Mingcheng replied.

Zhao Mingcheng looked around and found an old door panel. She picked up a short sword and carved the door panel into a shield.

"Do you know where we can find vines? We should make a shield too. Isn’t the wooden door panel too heavy to carry?" Ye Liuyun asked.

Zhao Mingcheng put the door panel down and said, "I know a place, but there’s an anaconda there. What if we run into it?"

"Then we’ll kill the anaconda and eat it!" Ye Liuyun said casually.

Zhao Mingcheng rolled her eyes at him. "I’m worried you won’t be able to defeat the anaconda!"

Ye Liuyun retorted, "Watch your tone when speaking to your master. Lead the way."

"Fine, but this was your idea! Don’t blame me if things go wrong!" Zhao Mingcheng said as she picked up a wooden spear and tucked the short sword behind her waist before leading.

Ye Liuyun grabbed the spear, keeping a certain distance from her.

After walking for some time, Ye Liuyun couldn’t help but complain inwardly, "I never thought a spear could be this heavy without my genuine energy!"

Carrying the long spear felt burdensome to Ye Liuyun as he had to rely solely on his physical strength.

"Let’s take a break!" Ye Liuyun had to ask Zhao Mingcheng to stop and rest.

"If you find the spear heavy, we can switch!" Zhao Mingcheng suggested with a smug smile.

Ye Liuyun smiled and popped an elixir into his mouth.

"Nope! Why waste my resources?"

"That’s such a waste!" Zhao Mingcheng exclaimed in shock.

When she wasn’t injured, she wouldn’t use these elixirs.

But Ye Liuyun believed that taking the elixirs early could replenish strength, heal wounds, and expel impurities. So, he didn’t skimp on them.

Once the elixir took effect, Ye Liuyun and Zhao Mingcheng resumed their journey.

After a while, Zhao Mingcheng pointed to a Thousand Burial Mountain and told Ye Liuyun that there were vines just over the hill.

When they reached the foot of the mountain, Ye Liuyun called for another stop.

He needed to conserve his strength for the fight with the anaconda.

Moreover, after consuming two elixirs, most impurities were expelled from his body. He swallowed another elixir, refining his body secretly.

Zhao Mingcheng watched and felt her heart ached. "Do you know how long it took me to collect these elixirs? And you’re using them barely to regain strength?"

She had fought and killed over twenty martial practitioners to gather those elixirs, each time risking her life. Especially that time when she seized the long spear. Zhao Mingcheng almost lost her life in the battle.

She used a few when injured but hadn’t dared use them since.

Yet now, Ye Liuyun had eaten three like they were candy in less than half a day.

Thinking it over, Ye Liuyun tossed an elixir to Zhao Mingcheng. Her increased strength would benefit him too.

Zhao Mingcheng caught the elixir and intended to save it.

Ye Liuyun insisted, "You must take it now, or I won’t give you anymore in the future!"

"Can’t I save it for later?" Zhao Mingcheng retorted.

"No! That’s my rule. Take it now, and you’ll get more later. Otherwise, you’ll never get another!" Ye Liuyun said firmly.

"You’re impossible!" Zhao Mingcheng complained but swallowed the elixir.

Ye Liuyun used his Golden Phantom Eyes to confirm she had taken it and felt relieved.

As they regained their strength and felt the elixir’s effects after the rest, Ye Liuyun led Zhao Mingcheng over the hill.

Sure enough, a clearing lay ahead, followed by a high cliff with many vines growing at its base.

Using his Golden Phantom Eyes, Ye Liuyun quickly located the anaconda.

It was hiding in a cave under the cliff. The entrance was well-concealed by vines, invisible to the untrained eye.

"Go and cut the vines. I’ll deal with the anaconda." Ye Liuyun said as he headed toward the cave.

"Can you see the anaconda?" Zhao Mingcheng looked around but saw no sign of it.

However, Zhao Mingcheng noticed Ye Liuyun’s determined steps and assumed he could see what others couldn’t.
