Helian Lianxiu was fuming and decided to find her brother to take her for a walk.
"You’re about to get engaged and still want to wander around? What if Commander Ye finds out? How am I supposed to explain that to him?" He Lianqiang refused to take her out.
"Hmph! You’re all bullying me!" He Lianxiu snapped, tears welling up in her eyes.
"What’s going on? Who’s bullying you?" He Lianqiang asked, trying to console her.
"Ye Liuyun bullies me, Father bullies me, and now you’re bullying me too!" He Lianxiu cried out, feeling wronged.
"When did I ever bully you? And what did Ye Liuyun do to you?" He Lianqiang avoided asking about their father, focusing instead on Ye Liuyun.
He Lianxiu cried for a bit before starting to explain her grievances.
"That’s not bullying! He’s a military leader. It’s just how he is! Father isn’t wrong either," He Lianqiang said casually, thinking it wasn’t a big deal.
"Didn’t you see Ye Liuyun chatting so happily with Xuan Yuanling? Why can’t he talk to me like that?" she retorted.
"Xuan Yuanling is a business genius. She’s intrinsically good at talking, and Ye Liuyun is one of her biggest clients, so she has to keep him happy," He Lianqiang explained.
"What about me? Father asked me to help him, but I didn’t know where to start. I don’t know anything!" He Lianxiu said with frustration.
He Lianqiang didn’t dare to lecture his sister, so he offered her some advice.
"This isn’t something you can rush. You have to be around him long enough to know what he likes. I’ve heard he’s recruiting soldiers lately, so he should be into that."
"Plus, martial practitioners like Ye Liuyun always need resources. He’s got a lot of people under him, so he requires them now. Maybe you can figure something out from that angle."
"And even if you help him, don’t expect immediate praise. Act like you don’t care and let him appreciate you silently."

He Lianqiang gave her quite a bit of advice and suggestions.

He Liaxiu felt aggrieved at her brother’s words and burst into tears again.
He Lianqiang didn’t comfort her this time but let her vent.
Though pampered, He Lianxiu wasn’t stupid. She saw things clearly after a good cry and understood she couldn’t change her fate. He Lianxiu had to rely on Ye Liuyun from now on.
Her attitude quickly shifted as she told He Lianqiang with teary eyes, "I have nothing to offer him. I need your help!"
After that, she cleaned out He Lianqiang and cheerfully rushed to the Manor’s treasury to collect whatever resources she could.
"I just taught you everything, and now you’re siding with an outsider so quickly! How ungrateful!" He Lianqiang felt helpless and exasperated as He Lianxiu left him with only ten Alora Crystals.
Back home, He Lianxiu gathered all her maids and only kept those willing to join the army with her. The rest were dismissed.
With five maids in tow, she donned armor and military attire and headed straight for Ye Liuyun...
Once he arrived at Mystique Mart, Ye Liuyun sought out Xuan Yuanling.
"You’re about to get hitched, is it appropriate to come and see me now?" Xuan Yuanling teased with jealousy.
Though she knew Ye Liuyun wasn’t exactly willing, she still couldn’t help but feel some resentment toward him.
Ye Liuyun was taken aback but didn’t dwell on it. "I’m here for business."
"What? Couldn’t the steward of Regalty handle it?" Xuan Yuanling was genuinely curious.
"Yeah, I need your help with something." Ye Liuyun handed over a prepared list, detailing delivery times and locations.
"These resources need to be delivered on time to the specified location. I’ll pick them up myself and check them before paying. Sound good?" Ye Liuyun inquired.
Xuan Yuanling inspected the list and found Ye Liuyun needed herbs and weapon-refining materials in large quantities.
"Do you need this much?" Xuan Yuanling knew she couldn’t gather that much at once.
Ye Liuyun didn’t elaborate but added, "I have a hundred thousand third-grade Qi Refining, Body Refining, and Soul Condensing Elixirs each. I plan to sell them to Mystique Mart in batches along with some third-level weapons and armor, so price them for me. The delivery location is the same place where I’ll be picking up the materials."
"A hundred thousand each? Are you planning to trade alchemy and weapon-refining for resources?" Xuan Yuanling was puzzled. Ye Liuyun was wealthy enough. Why resort to this?
Nevertheless, she quoted prices and agreed to Ye Liuyun’s terms.
"Thanks!" Ye Liuyun thanked Xuan Yuanling and left without further ado.
"Maybe I was too harsh with my words. Did I make him mad?" Xuan Yuanling regretted her words after Ye Liuyun left.
Ye Liuyun’s solemn demeanor and quick departure had something to do with Xuanyuan Ling’s initial comment.
He decided he should talk less with women in the future to avoid trouble.
After sorting out the resource issue, Ye Liuyun returned to his place, only to find He Lianxiu and several female soldiers at his door.
He Lianxiu looked way better in armor and looked more appealing to him.
He Lianxiu was smart enough to notice that Ye Liuyun preferred seeing her in armor.
"Are you looking for me?" Ye Liuyun asked.
"I wanted to discuss something with you," He Lianxiu said, all serious.
"Go ahead! Want to come inside and have a seat?" Ye Liuyun asked.
"It’s fine. I’ll keep it brief," He Lianxiu said deliberately. "You know I had an easy upbringing and haven’t faced many challenges. Since we’re heading out together, I figured it might be a good chance for real training. My maids are also keen on joining the military, so I thought I’d bring them along and join your regiment. What do you think?"
Ye Liuyun gave it some serious thought and said, "If you’re looking to get some training, I’m all for it. That’s a great idea, to be honest!"
"You’ll need to undergo the selection and training to join my regiment, with no special treatment. And you can’t let anyone know you’re my woman."
"Everyone has a role on the battlefield. I can’t risk others dying because you’re not strong enough."
"I get it! I promise I won’t let you down!" He Lianxiu said and beamed.
"It’s good that you understand. But don’t push yourself too hard. You’ve never faced this kind of hardship before. It might be overwhelming," Ye Liuyun said, concerned she might overdo it.
