Chapter 488: Chapter 127: The Divine Domain’s First Holy Empire Combat Squad is Born
Thanks to the high-level Observation granted by his Riding and Cutting system, Qin Feng had already assessed the strength of the group before him. They were nothing more than a bunch of small fry who ganged up to bully newcomers.
A cold smirk touched his lips, his expression so indifferent it was nearly glacial. He spoke, each word landing with force:
"But what if I refuse?"
Before the words even faded, he took half a step forward. His gaze was as sharp as a blade, fixed on the leader, his tone filled with undisguised provocation:
"So?"
"Are you going to kill me?"
The leader of the Cyan Dragon Gang sneered and let out a sinister laugh:
"Kill you?"
He slowly advanced, his fingertips toying with the dagger at his waist as a cold light glinted off its tip:
"If you know what’s good for you, you’ll submit to the Cyan Dragon Gang and work for us!"
"Then I can overlook your earlier arrogance as the ignorance of youth!"
"I’ll even let it slide!"
His tone shifted abruptly. The smile vanished from his eyes, replaced by pure viciousness:
"But if you’re determined to be a troublemaker, then I don’t mind going to the extra trouble of feeding your ungrateful corpse to the Abyssal Demon Wolves in Black Flame Forest!"
At these words, Qin Feng’s mind raced, and he instantly understood the law of survival in the Divine Domain.
’Alright.’
’I get it now.’
’The Deities of Silver Moon City couldn’t care less about the petty squabbles among Ascenders. And these Ascender players struggling at the bottom, desperate to snatch resources and survive, can only band together like old-world gangs, forming one sinister faction after another. In short, in this world where the strong devour the weak, if you aren’t willing to draw your blade and oppress others, you have to be prepared to be trampled underfoot and slaughtered at will.’
’In that case... I don’t need to hold back anymore.’
The instant the thought formed, Qin Feng flicked his wrist, and the Longbow, shimmering with a faint golden light, appeared in his grasp.
He nocked an arrow, raised the bow, and aimed—the entire sequence was lightning-fast, giving the men opposite him no time to react.
"FWIP!"
A piercing whistle tore through the forest air as the arrow, propelled by a fierce gale, shot like a bolt of cold lightning straight toward the loudest member of the Cyan Dragon Gang.
These guys were nothing but bottom-feeders who ganged up to bully newcomers. They didn’t have what it took to become Junior Deities, nor had they been favored by the Deities of any Destiny. There wasn’t even the faintest glimmer of a Divine Gift’s power about them.
The man’s savage grin was still plastered on his face when his pupils suddenly contracted. He didn’t even see the arrow’s path, only felt a piercing, bone-deep pain shoot through his shoulder!
"THWACK!"
The arrow pierced his shoulder blade, sending a spray of hot blood onto the ground.
He grunted, the impact sending him stumbling back two steps. The health bar above his head instantly plummeted by a quarter, a glaring, pale white number hovering in the air that made one’s heart clench.
The surrounding Cyan Dragon Gang members froze, their arrogant smiles stiffening on their faces. The only sounds in the woods were the man’s pained groans and the soft rustling of leaves in the wind.
"You!?"
"Are you fucking looking for death!?"
The dead silence lasted only a moment before the Cyan Dragon Gang erupted in fury.
Cursing, they drew their Divine Weapons. The blades hummed menacingly as they cut through the air. Eyes filled with murderous intent, they advanced like enraged jackals in a fan formation, completely cutting off the pair’s retreat.
A sharp glint flashed in Qin Feng’s eyes. Instead of retreating, he advanced, drawing the sword from Su Mumu’s waist.
The cool metal of the blade settled into his hand. With a flick of his wrist, it flashed with a sharp, cold light. He glanced back, his voice low and deep as he spoke to Su Mumu:
"Get out of here."
"I’ll deal with them."
With that, Qin Feng gripped the Divine Longsword, its blade humming as it vibrated with a chilling light.
He kicked off the ground, shooting forward like an arrow from a bow. Fearlessly, he charged straight at the snarling Ascenders of the Cyan Dragon Gang!
In an instant, the Combat Experience of a Sigmar Combat Priest from a thousand bloody battles flooded his mind. The techniques for parrying, slashing, and dodging were already second nature, etched into his very bones.
An invisible aura of Holy Light rose from his body. Despite not activating any Divine Gift skills, a golden light seemed to swirl in the depths of his eyes. His entire demeanor transformed, making him look like a battle-hardened holy warrior descending upon the field!
"Arrogant!"
Seeing Qin Feng charge him alone, the Cyan Dragon Gang leader roared and swung his blade straight down. The blade, reeking of crude iron, aimed right for Qin Feng’s face.
The slash was heavy and powerful. An ordinary new Ascender would have been forced into a clumsy Dodge.
But Qin Feng’s footwork abruptly changed as he executed the signature Holy Step of a Sigmar Combat Priest. He took a diagonal half-step with his left foot to evade the blade, then drove his right foot forward. Spinning like a top, he slipped perfectly into the opening at the leader’s side.
Carried by his momentum, the Divine Longsword drew a precise, diagonal slash. The blade scraped across the man’s leather armor, sending up a shower of sparks and leaving a wound on his ribs so deep that bone was visible.
"Gah!"
The petty leader of the Cyan Dragon Gang bent over in pain, his health bar instantly plummeting by thirty percent.
Before the leader could steady himself, Qin Feng flipped his wrist, pointing the Longsword down, and thrust at the back of his knee with the Falling Star Stab.
This move specialized in breaking a melee fighter’s stance. The Cyan Dragon Gang leader’s knee buckled, and he dropped to the ground on one knee, exposing the back of his neck.
But Qin Feng didn’t press his advantage. Instead, he kicked off the man’s shoulder, launching himself into an arc through the air to evade a pincer attack from two lackeys on his right.
