Chapter 156: Dinner with Friends, Revealing Talent to the World

"I want you to accompany me tomorrow on my short trip to a neighboring city," she requested.

[Shadow1749: SHE IS ASKING HIM ON A DATE?!]

[Foodball: bro has unlimited rizz.]

[Harry_Hart: Elizabeth is right there watching this.]

"I have to pass," Solomon answered. "I need to visit the sword pavilion master tomorrow to get my mission. I have to earn my star."

Yue looked him in the eyes and smiled from the corner of her lips.

"Do not worry about that," she told him. "I can wait until you finish your priorities. It shouldn’t take long."

She turned around and walked down the mountain path, leaving the group standing on the stone plateau.

Solomon turned his attention to Marco. "What was all that about? Why didn’t you tell me Jin was your father?"

Marco shrugged his shoulders. "It doesn’t matter. Knowing that fact wouldn’t change anything. I am here as a student, so personal relationships are irrelevant."

Marco kicked a loose pebble across the rock. "I despise being treated differently. I want the instructors and the other students to judge me based on my own work and feats."

[Grim: Marco has a solid mindset.] [BloodKnight: A warrior relies on his own merit.] [Berrel: respects to Marco.]

Solomon shifted his weight and rubbed the back of his neck. He had dueled Marco and won. He later dueled Jin and won again. Defeating two generations of the same family usually resulted in bitter rivalries or revenge plots.

He had braced himself for a harsh confrontation, so this casual acceptance threw him off balance.

The sun set behind the mountain peaks. Twilight covered the Azure Dragon Sect. Solomon, Arthur, Maximus, Elizabeth, and Marco navigated the descending stone trails.

By the time they returned to the Sword Pavilion,it was night. So they walked straight to the Iron Hearth Dining Hall to have dinner.

Disciples formed a long line inside the Iron Hearth Dining Hall, holding empty plates and waiting for their evening meal. Elizabeth received her portion of roasted meat and vegetables.

She stepped away from the serving counter and scanned the bustling room. Her red eyes locked onto an oak table where Solomon, Arthur, Maximus, and Marco sat.

She stared at the group for several seconds. She tapped her manicured fingers against her wooden tray, contemplating whether she should join them or eat alone like always. Making her decision, she approached their table.

She stopped right in front of Solomon. Arthur sat beside the silver-haired boy, happily enjoying his food. An empty wooden chair rested next to Marco on the opposite side. Elizabeth ignored the available spot.

She stood still, her intense gaze boring directly into Arthur’s face. Sweat gathered on Arthur’s forehead as he paused mid-bite. He hastily pushed his chair back, grabbed his tray, and practically sprinted to sit next to Marco.

Elizabeth slid into the vacated seat right beside Solomon.

An awkward silence settled over the oak table. Arthur, Maximus, and Marco clamped their mouths shut and nervously glanced at Solomon. Solomon cared little about the seating change. He focused on his meal and continued chewing his food.

"What is your talent?" Elizabeth turned her head toward Solomon.

Solomon stopped eating and looked at the white-haired royal. His actual talent was Convergence, an SSS-rank power, and the true nature of the ability remained unheard of.

If he revealed that Convergence granted him royal bloodline abilities upon consuming a monarch’s crown, he would instantly become a target for every royal family on the continent.

He pondered how he should frame his answer, keeping the floating bronze owl in mind.

[1Fizzy: wait, he actually awakened is his talent?]

[James_hayes: bro never explained it properly.]

[LazyCat: he said he couldn’t use it back in the labyrinth.]

[Mezz_3863: Solo Man lore drop incoming.]

Solomon decided this presented the perfect time to establish a safe narrative. "My talent is called Convergence." Solomon placed his wooden chopsticks onto the table. "It basically heals minor wounds."

"How minor are we talking about? What is the limit of this healing?" Elizabeth furrowed her brow and leaned closer.

"I haven’t tested the limits." Solomon rested his hand on his lap. "I genuinely do not want to test them either, considering I have to get injured to find out."

He grabbed the hem of his blue academy shirt and pulled the fabric up to expose his side abs. He pointed to the smooth skin just above his hip. "I got stabbed by a cultist spy right here yesterday. The wound is already healed now."

Elizabeth did not waste a single second. She reached out and pressed her bare hand directly against his exposed skin. Solomon flinched and stiffened his spine the moment her chilly hands touched his side.

She moved her manicured fingers across the flesh, rubbing the area firmly to check for any hidden scar tissue or lingering internal damage. After a thorough inspection, she finally pulled her hand away.

"It is fully healed." Elizabeth nodded, returning her hand to her lap.

Solomon picked up his wooden chopsticks and resumed eating his roasted meat. Elizabeth reached across the oak table and grabbed his right wrist.

She turned his palm upward, inspecting the unblemished skin with her manicured fingers. She traced the knuckles where his flesh had previously been torn down to the bone.

"Did your talent heal this injury too?" Elizabeth asked, keeping her eyes locked on his hand.

The translucent blue interface hovering near the bronze owl immediately erupted with rapid messages.

[1Fizzy: we asked him that day!]

[LazyCat: he kept ignoring the question!]

[Mezz_3863: Solo Man finally has to answer.]

[James_hayes: bro dodged it everytime we asked.]

Solomon pulled his hand from her grip and picked up his wooden cup. "Restoring a destroyed limb falls under regeneration. That trait functions very differently from basic healing. The angel healed my hand before the dungeon collapsed."

Maximus halted his chewing and leaned over his wooden tray. Arthur pushed his spectacles up the bridge of his nose and listened attentively. Marco stopped cutting his vegetables, keeping his gaze fixed on Solomon from across the table.

Elizabeth tilted her head and furrowed her brow. "Did you not kill the angel at the end of that battle?"

Solomon scoffed and placed his cup back onto the table. "A mortal lacks the power to kill a divine entity. Slaying an angel is a literal death sentence."

He picked up his chopsticks and pointed them toward the ceiling. "If I had somehow managed to kill an angel, the church association and the holy empire would never have left me alive. They would have hunted me down and executed me without a second thought."

After ‌dinner, they parted ways.

Solomon pushed the wooden door of his personal quarters shut. He walked straight past the simple bed and unlatched the wooden shutters of his window. Grabbing the window frame, he pulled himself up and climbed onto the sloping clay roof of the Sword Pavilion.

The night wind brushed against his academy uniform as he found a stable footing on the curved tiles.

Suddenly, the darkness pooling behind a nearby stone chimney twisted. Corvus stepped out from the shadows and walked over to stand right beside him. The operative kept his dark robes wrapped tightly to block the chill.

"Are you ready for the hunt tonight?" Corvus looked down at the illuminated pathways of the sect below.

"I have been waiting for this." Solomon rested his hand on the hilt of his sword.

[1Fizzy: the squad is linking up.]

[Mezz_3863: Solo Man is about to cause some chaos.]
