Chapter 393: Chapter 392: Who’s This Hick?

When the bar staff saw South Grant, their expressions were quite unnatural.

The last incident was too impactful, and they still remembered it.

South Grant happened to bump into Fly just as he entered.

With sharp eyes, Fly noticed South Grant the moment he walked in.

Fly immediately ditched his friends and ran up to South Grant, fawning,

"Dad South, where have you been lately? I went to the military district several times to find you, but Commander Foster wasn’t there, and neither were you. Where did you go?"

"Went into retreat," South Grant casually waved as he spoke.

Hearing "retreat," Fly looked enormously impressed, his eyes shining.

"Can you take me with you next time?"

"There won’t be a next time." South Grant thought to herself; she would not waste her time again. For some reason, she could never master what Langston Caldwell taught her.

Soon after, Fly noticed South Grant with several people, recognizing Rosalind Sutton among them, and another he knew named Caleb Holt.

Fly called over a server to arrange a spot for South Grant and insisted that the tab for the table go on Fly’s account.

As soon as South Grant sat down, Langston Caldwell took a seat opposite her, and a server came over with great respect, asking South Grant, "Is there anything you need?"

Before South Grant could reply, Langston Caldwell jumped in and said,

"Bring me a plate of dumplings first."

"Pfft..."

Someone inexplicably burst out laughing, and the server standing there was awkwardly taken aback.

Being on the job here, it was the first time they saw someone ordering dumplings.

"I’m sorry, sir, we don’t serve dumplings here," the server politely replied.

"Aren’t you famously Aethelgard’s top gold-spending spot? How come you don’t even have dumplings?" Langston Caldwell, being out of touch, was still adjusting and didn’t really get the local customs.

Being used to luxury, Fly was a pretentious young master. Although he submitted to South Grant last time, deep down, he still had that arrogant nature that looked down on ordinary people.

Seeing Langston Caldwell behave like such a bumpkin, he couldn’t help but ask South Grant, "Dad South, who is this bumpkin? Coming here and asking for dumplings."

Fly spoke softly, only loud enough for South Grant to hear, as a courtesy to South Grant. Otherwise, in the past, he’d likely have sarcastically mocked a person like this.

Even though Fly spoke quietly, only South Grant could hear, it didn’t stop Langston Caldwell from hearing Fly’s muttering thanks to Langston Caldwell’s good ears.

"Is there a rule against ordering dumplings here?" Langston Caldwell couldn’t help but look at Fly.

Fly rolled his eyes at this point, ignoring Langston Caldwell. If not for South Grant, this bumpkin wouldn’t even be on Fly’s radar.

Seeing Fly roll his eyes at him set Langston Caldwell on edge. This brat was really stepping out of line; from his travels domestically and abroad, it was the first time anyone rolled their eyes at him.

"Alright, you’re something else, kid." If Nathan Foster hadn’t told him to stay out of trouble, just the way this guy looked would have made him want to thrash him a thousand times over.

"Who’re you calling kid?" Fly was enraged hearing himself being called a kid. At this moment, South Grant was sitting beside them, lounging on the sofa, coldly watching Langston Caldwell and Fly get into it.

Just as the two were about to get physical, South Grant casually reminded Fly,

"Fly, this is my master."

Master...

These two words were like a magic binding spell, stunning Fly immediately.
