Chapter 377: Could Any of Them Train Their Backside?

The adventurer Rot Lircon had slipped away from the scene of mass self-relief and stopped by the riverside for a moment. Roughly a hundred male adventurers stood facing the river, vigorously working their bodies back and forth.

"Hey, buddy. Did you drink the river water too? My insides are burning up so bad I’m losing my mind."

"Well..."

He had technically come for a different reason, but even he couldn’t bear it without draining some pressure. The men who’d sought out the river wore blissful, transcendent expressions as they moved their hands in quick, rhythmic strokes.

"What a shitty battle this is. There are women out there practically begging to get railed, and here we are, jerking it off by the river..."

"Don’t talk like that. Those people were violated by monsters."

"Goddammit. Buddy, you know that already, so why say it? Violated by monsters or not, a woman’s still a woman, isn’t she? Shit. Those orc bastards must have one hell of an eye. Every single one they left behind is either gorgeous or bangable. Ugh... if only it weren’t for the clergy."

"..."

Rot said nothing. The world had all sorts of people, and there were those who didn’t care one bit even if the women had been violated by monsters. Rot pulled his pants back up and turned around.

"Oi, buddy. Got stamina issues? Can’t finish?"

"That’s not what I came here to do."

"Then what?"

"...I came to take a dump."

At Rot’s words, the adventurer waved him off. Rot shuffled over to a makeshift latrine set up near the riverbank, little more than a slightly deep pit dug into the ground, and squatted over it.

"...Damn. Nothing’s gonna come out."

He’d actually come to step away from it all. But no matter how he thought about it, joining dozens of men lined up along the river to jerk off by hand felt far too pathetic.

"Tsk, maybe I should sneak over and hook one tonight...?"

As luck would have it, he’d been assigned as a night watchman guarding the rescued female prisoners. Rot thought of the very first woman who had started touching herself earlier, the one with the tiny frame, and idly scratched at the front of his pants.

"Heh heh, there’s no easier woman than one who’s been taken by monsters."

Rot spent a little while with that lecherous look on his face, then headed back to the main camp. Eagerly waiting for nightfall, when people’s eyes would go dark.

***

Late night arrived.

After halfheartedly scarfing down a quick dinner, we stood on the wall and watched the subjugation force, now swollen with a massive influx of refugees, keeping a close eye on their movements.

"No significant movement so far."

According to aerial reconnaissance, the refugees had settled around the barracks without much commotion. The subjugation force’s soldiers had thrown together crude shelters to house the refugees, but conditions were clearly far from adequate.

’If things keep going like this, there should definitely be some kind of movement soon.’

It seemed Levis Ann was in quite a bind. Judging by the lack of action so far, she must have been trapped in a dilemma, unable to commit to any course of action.

"Lune, what do you think they’ll do?"

"Hmm... they won’t just sit still. There’ll be a big move soon."

She and I were thinking the same thing. Sitting out on the open plain might work for a short while, but holding out for days with monsters right in front of them was out of the question.

"If they just stay put, they’ll starve. We seized Raspica and cut their supply lines, and they can’t even properly secure drinking water. They’ll probably either try to take Ras Vegas, or march on foot to Raspica and attempt to recapture the city."

"Right. The most likely scenario is the former: the subjugation force coming in through the broken wall."

Ras Vegas might not have been ideal for defense, but it was a reasonably comfortable and suitable place to live. Even though our legion had squatted in it for a time, nearly 90% of the infrastructure was still intact. All they’d have to do was chase out the monsters occupying each house, and it would be theirs again.

"If they come in, it’ll be a bloodbath. While they’re still in disarray, most of our forces have already returned."

All troops except the fairies, succubi, and ghouls had come back from Raspica through the portal. Though our numbers didn’t match the subjugation force’s total, if each of ours could take down at least three of theirs, it wasn’t going to be an impossible fight.

"Until the real battle starts, we just keep chipping away at their strength bit by bit. Oh, they’re back again."

The Death Knights who had charged out beyond the wall returned once more, having snatched another group of soldiers with their lassos. The number of hostages they brought back was steadily shrinking, but it was clearly doing a lot to weaken the enemy. I tallied up the soldiers the Death Knights had captured.

"Twenty at the one-hour mark, then sixteen, then eleven... They’ve probably grabbed everyone who was easy pickings by now. We can assume there’ll be almost no more."

"So what will you do? Keep the Death Knights on standby?"

"No. We need to keep them on edge. Even if they don’t manage to snatch a single one, they’ll keep trying. Ah, this is what you call harassment tactics."

They were dullahans on unicorns rather than aerial units, but they were clearly producing results with every sortie.

"They won’t be able to swallow their anger forever. Once the enemy comes to Ras Vegas, it’s all-out war."

My soldiers and I filled our bellies well, a final supper of sorts. If Ras Vegas fell, two-way portals to both Raspica and our home dungeon would open. That would split our legion’s forces in two, and Lime and Meri, isolated in Raspica, would be in serious danger.

And so we steeled ourselves to fight the entire subjugation force. Perhaps many soldiers would die in this war, but there was no winning a war without shedding blood forever.

"Lune. I did everything I could to minimize our soldiers’ deaths."

I didn’t drum my belly again. The legion’s human soldiers who had infiltrated the enemy camp were all waiting for nightfall. I’d made them one promise, and I built my strategy trusting in their humanity.

"I told those human adventurers who went in risking their lives: if our legion is defeated, you’re free to blend in among the humans and go on living."

It was a kind of insurance policy.

They may have been our legion’s soldiers who infiltrated at the risk of their lives, but as humans, what they valued most was their own skin. I’d left the possibility of betrayal open, but the message was clear: if they were going to betray us, they should at least keep their mouths shut until our legion was completely defeated, then quietly abandon the legion.

"Surely they wouldn’t leak the plan after I went that far for them."

"You saved them when they were all as good as dead, Master. They wouldn’t be so ungrateful."

"Lune, they’re human. Except in truly exceptional cases, every human values their own life above all else."

I prayed that the human soldiers wouldn’t betray the legion just to save their own hides.

"O Goddess of Ras, please grant our legion victory once again."

"Is there really such a goddess?"

"There is. Right here."

I grabbed Lune by the waist and hoisted her up into the air.

"Has there ever been a battle we’ve fought together where we lost?"

"That’s only because you drag me along everywhere every single day, Master."

"It’s the other way around. Because you’re with me, I’ve always been able to win. Lune, I’m always grateful. Thank you for walking this path with me."

"...I already told you. Those human soldiers who went into enemy territory will repay the kindness of being saved."

Lune, still lifted in my arms, cupped my face in both hands.

"It’s the same for me. Because you spared me that day instead of devouring me, I was able to survive even after leaving the Elven Forest. The reason I survived through all those brushes with death... is because you were always protecting me, Master."

"...Is that so? Heh heh, I really wouldn’t be anything without you."

"Same here. Hehe."

I set Lune down. Part of me wanted to rip her stockings open and take her right then and there, but I needed to conserve even that much energy for the battle ahead.

"Lune. When this battle is over, let’s take a few days off and go at it. Not in some death-defying location, but sprawled out nice and lazy in a proper bed."

"Since we’re doing it anyway, how about in the baroness’s bed?"

"What a fine idea."

Caw!

Crows took to the sky. Real crows, not Andras, cutting across the night sky. My heart began to pound.

"It’s almost time."

For a perfect victory, I gave the order to execute the final phase of Operation Ada Bomber.

"Lune. About two thousand humans have gathered out there. What’s the biggest problem?"

"Food!"

"Exactly. Food is the problem. And if they’ve eaten, then naturally, there’s something they need to do afterward."

Humans are fundamentally a species that must relieve themselves. But the human soldiers of our legion never go to the bathroom separately. To be precise, they only leak a bit of urine; unless someone was a pervert who deliberately wanted to defecate every single day, none of them did.

"They were originally mass-produced to turn their rears into back-pussies, but... there’s nothing I won’t do to win."

I pulled out the red orb I’d been keeping in my pocket. The glans-shaped bug monster trapped inside the slime mucus sphere was wriggling around energetically within its coating.

"Go, Monster Ball."

A ball literally containing a monster, a creature.

"No matter how well-trained a soldier is... could any of them have trained their backside, too?"

Hummm.

The red tattoos began to glow through the darkness once more. I prepared to drum my belly again and cleared my throat.

"O-rc, slime, gho-ul, e-lf."

With a light rhythm, the song signaling the start of the operation echoed through the darkness.

"Har-py, Andras, succubus, human. Though we may look different from one another, we are all one legion!"

"Ras!"

***

"Everyone’s sleeping soundly. Even with that godawful singing going on."

Late at night, Rot stood his watch and smiled contentedly at the prisoners sleeping like the dead beyond the fence. They may have been women violated by monsters, but they were far quieter than the people who’d lost their homes and joined the subjugation force.

"Excuse me! You expect us to sleep here?! This is just an open field!"

"That singing is way too loud... Do something about it, please."

"Waaaaah!! Mommy!!"

The refugees had begun pouring out their grief over losing their homes. The soldiers assigned to manage them looked like they were about to collapse from exhaustion, one by one.

"...Please bear with it a little longer. The situation doesn’t allow for anything else."

The soldiers had to bow and scrape to calm the refugees down, every single one of them. While soldiers who’d stepped up to protect the refugees were getting snatched by enemy knights one after another, the refugees’ demands never seemed to end.

"Tsk, tsk."

Rot clicked his tongue and crossed his arms. The problem had started from the very beginning: having a civilian population equal in size to the fighting force on a battlefield. Now there were even more of them than the soldiers. They didn’t have enough food to sustain everyone for days.

"They’ll have to head for the Leo Marquisate."

If they didn’t make for the nearest Leo Marquisate, everyone would be slaughtered. Rot hoped the subjugation force commander would make a quick decision, and quietly slipped inside the fence.

"Buddy, I’ll be back in a bit."

"You crazy bastard. You wanna be hole-buddies with a monster?"

"Ahem. Here, take this..."

Rot pressed a bit of money into the hand of the man sharing his night watch.

"Thirty minutes."

"Plenty."

Careful not to be noticed. Moving with extreme caution as he climbed over the fence, Rot crept forward with the silent steps of a thief.

"Heh heh heh, the dick has arrived."

Rot darted inside and searched for the woman he’d had his eye on. When he entered this late at night, the women stared at him with hardened faces.

"You there. I’m going to need you to step out for a moment."

"Wh, what for."

"It’s nothing, just... hold on. What’s that in your hands?"

The women all had something round and red in their hands. Rot saw something glinting inside and felt his heart drop into his stomach.

"Bugs...?"

"Tch. We’ve been spotted."

A woman’s cold voice came from behind him. Rot whipped around.

"Gah! Mmph!"

He was subdued in an instant. Several women rushed him and slammed him to the ground before he could make a sound. Rot was absolutely floored.

These women were far stronger than he was.

"Sis, what do we do? We’ve been caught."

"The signal’s already come in, so we start now. Don’t worry. We can come back even if we die, right?"

The women spoke words he couldn’t comprehend as they pulled Rot’s pants off. Suddenly finding himself at the mercy of women, Rot began to resist violently.

"Wh, what are you doing to..."

"What’s this, then?"

Rip.

The woman tore the red orb open with her fingernail. The bug that emerged writhed playfully on the back of her hand.

"Heh heh. It’ll be over soon."

"What’ll be..."

"Master was curious about this too, you know. Whether it makes a back-pussy even when it goes into a man’s rear."

Smack. The bug leapt down onto Rot’s backside. Its movement, as if searching for an entrance, sent Rot’s resistance into a frenzy.

"Mmph, mmmmph!!"

"Don’t worry."

The women pressed Rot’s face into a small pillow.

"There might be dullahans in our legion who’ve been wanting to give it to a guy, you know?"

"Mmmmph!!"

Thwack.

A heavy blow to the back of his neck, and Rot blacked out. Losing consciousness might have been a stroke of luck for him.

Rip. Rrrip.

At least he wouldn’t have to feel the sensation of the bug burrowing into his body.
