Chapter 171: Ch171: Undergrounded

As Daniel followed Zero, they reached the river near the training grounds — the same river Daniel had crossed earlier.

Back then, Daniel had turned right after crossing it.

Zero, however, continued straight along the riverbank, following the current.

From the training grounds’ perspective, he was heading left — the opposite direction Daniel had taken.

...

*Crack-Puff!~*

Shit!

Without realizing it, Daniel stepped on a yellowish ball like mushroom called Puffer mushroom. The poisonous fungus burst open with a popping sound — just loud enough for someone nearby to notice.

Daniel froze and darted behind the nearest tree.

Ahead, Zero came to a stop.

The moon shone through the canopy, casting his long shadow across the forest floor.

Suddenly, footsteps approached from ahead, drawing closer to Daniel.

Zero sprinted toward the source of the noise, but to his surprise, he found no one.

After scanning the surrounding area and confirming that no one following him, Zero turned and continued on his way.

’Phew, almost got caught,’ Daniel murmured under his breath.

...

Five minutes later, they arrived at a rusty iron gate.

Zero pushed it open and stepped inside.

Standing before him was a headless statue of a woman, resembling the Statue of Liberty.

He approached the statue and twisted one of its fingers.

*Rumble*

A hidden stone passage opened behind the statue, revealing a stairway leading underground, its walls illuminated by burning torches.

*Tap... Tap... Tap... Tap*

The air inside carried the damp scent of stone and mildew.

Zero descended the stairs, took several turns, and eventually reached a sturdy wooden door.

*Creak...*

"You’re back. Finally... What took you so long?" a man seated at a wooden table asked before taking another sip of his beer.

"Maybe those two suspected me. Especially the girl named Helen," Zero replied with a neutral expression.

Daniel gritted his teeth. "Zero... how could you work for someone? I thought you were—"

Just then, another man stepped through the doorway.

It was none other than Klaus.

"Oi, Belrim. Why do you always have to create unnecessary chaos in Cinder Town? Can’t you stay quiet for once?" Klaus said as he glared at the man sitting at the table.

"It’s you who should calm down, my friend. Come, have a drink with me," Belrim said, gesturing toward the empty seat across from him.

Zane... you too? Daniel’s heart sank.

No... it has to be Klaus.

Zero bowed with respect before Klaus. "Master, you were right. Those two belong to some organization, and one of them has already grown suspicious of me."

"Hahaha! I knew it. They must be remnants of the Halberd or Shark organization," Klaus said with a grin.

*Burp~*

Belrim let out a loud burp before turning to Klaus.

"What are we gonna do with that sleeping man you locked in that room?"

Klaus met his gaze. "I’ll decide that later. The spell I cast on him will last for four days. If he still refuses to cooperate by the fifth day, kill him."

"Isn’t he a Fire-element user?" Belrim asked.

Klaus gave a small nod.

A wicked smile spread across Belrim’s face. "Then I might put him to work as the stove in my kitchen."

"Do whatever you want, just don’t leave him alive," Klaus said before turning his gaze to Zero. "Hero, transform into Queen Floryn and give me a blowjob."

"Yes, Master," Zero replied without hesitation.

Suddenly, the face of Zero, his body, his hair shifted into a woman with long red hair, massive breasts, and a huge ass. She now wore a queen’s dress in deep wine colored fabric that clung to every curve, topped with a small golden crown.

Klaus dropped into the chair near the wall and yanked his pants down.

Daniel’s eyes widened as he witnessed the sight. ’What the fuck am I seeing?’

"Looks like you don’t recognize your wife," Belrim sneered as he stared at the half-filled glass of beer.

"You really think I would marry a woman for love who doesn’t even have a decent body? Pff... She was the only woman I found with connections to the royal saints. My real love was always Queen Floryn and always will be."

Belrim chuckled. "That’s a big shot. You really think you could even fuck her?"

Klaus groaned deep in his throat as fake Queen Floryn’s bobbed her head.

"Just watch, my friend," Klaus said between heavy breaths. "I just need more dark powers to create another summon."

Summons? Daniel thought.

...

Three minutes later, Klaus rose from his chair and instructed her to transform back into Zero.

Queen Floryn’s appearance gradually faded, and within moments, the figure of Zero stood in her place once more.

"Hero, try not to raise any suspicion. I need a little more time," Klaus said, placing a hand on the fake Zero’s shoulder.

"Yes, Master," the fake Zero replied with a bow.

"Friend, do me a favor and don’t kill that girl. I’d like to make a slave out of her," Belrim said before taking another sip of his beer.

She isn’t even that beautiful, nor does she have any curves," Klaus said, his tone dismissive.

"Well, at least! she got a mouth to keep my dick warm this winter," Belrim laughed as he lifted the glass high.

"Alright, I’ll keep that in mind. Hero, don’t kill that woman, okay?" Klaus said.

"Yes, Master. But what about the man who looks exactly like you?"

Klaus’s expression turned cold.

"Stop. Never ask more than you fucking need to know. Understand?!!"

"My deepest apologies, Master."

With that, Klaus left the underground chamber first.

A short while later, the fake Zero followed him.

*Rumble*

Once he stepped outside, the hidden passage behind the statue slowly sealed shut.

Zero left through the rusty gate and walked away at an unhurried pace, as though nothing had happened.

As he reached the river, his shadow suddenly detached from his feet and stretched toward a nearby tree.

A moment later, Daniel crawled out of the shadow in complete silence.

Should I go tell Helen right now?
