Chapter 106: 106:Crush It Down
Metal groaned beneath the tremendous weight, and the reinforced roof bent inward with a loud screech as if it were about to collapse at any moment.
The sudden attack caught everyone off guard, but the three reacted almost instantly. Without wasting a second, they leaped away from the impact zone before the monster could strike again.
Reigns dove aside and grabbed a metal anchor fixed on the roof to stop himself from falling off. Looking up, his eyes widened.
"Damn!"
The lobster looked horrific.
Half of its head was gone. Large sections of its crimson shell were shattered and hanging loose.
Deep burn marks covered its body while flames continued to crawl across its armor. One of its massive pincers had been completely blown off.
Yet, despite all that damage, it was still alive and kicking.
Gianna jumped down in terror, knowing she was useless in close combat, while Duster tried to move in. But he was immediately swatted away by a pincer strike and sent flying.
Then the beast’s remaining crimson eye twitched wildly before locking onto Reigns with pure hatred.
SQUEEEEECH!
The surviving pincer shot forward.
CRAAASH!
The claw smashed into the roof where Reigns had been moments earlier, tearing apart the metal sheet as if it were paper.
Reigns threw himself upward and twisted midair, narrowly avoiding being crushed.
The moment he landed, Chameleon Dirge appeared in his hand and quickly transformed into a heavy war hammer.
Reigns tightened his grip and charged.
The lobster shrieked and swung again.
WHOOOSH!
The giant claw swept through the air.
Reigns ducked beneath it and rushed forward.
The closer he got, the more intense the heat became. Flames burned across the lobster’s shattered shell, scorching his skin and making his eyes water. His clothes began to singe, but he refused to stop.
"AAAHHH!"
Activating every ounce of strength granted by Berserker, Reigns swung the massive hammer downward with all his might.
BOOOOM!
The hammer crashed directly into the damaged side of the lobster’s head.
Cracks spread across the remaining armor as chunks of shell exploded outward.
The monster staggered but immediately retaliated.
SQUEEEEECH!
Its pincer swept across the roof again.
Reigns barely avoided the attack.
The claw grazed his shoulder and nearly threw him off the APC, making him stumble dangerously close to the edge before he barely managed to regain his footing. A sharp pain shot through his entire body, but he forced himself to stay upright.
Before he could even recover, another attack came crashing toward him.
Then another.
The monster had gone completely mad.
It no longer cared about defending itself. It simply wanted to kill him before it died.
Its massive claws swung wildly with reckless fury, tearing through the air and smashing into the armored roof with deafening force.
Reigns gritted his teeth as he endured the relentless assault. His skin burned from countless wounds, his arms felt unbearably heavy from exhaustion, and every breath became harder than the last as his lungs desperately struggled for air.
But he knew he couldn’t stop now.
If he backed away, someone else would die.
With a furious roar, Reigns gathered the last of his strength and charged forward once more.
BOOOOM!
The massive hammer slammed into the lobster’s skull with crushing force, sending a violent shock through its body as a large piece of its thick armor shattered apart and scattered across the roof.
BOOOOM!
Another strike followed immediately.
This time, the remaining eye cracked under the impact, and thick dark blood burst out, splattering across the roof in every direction.
The lobster thrashed violently, smashing its pincer left and right in desperation while Reigns continued advancing.
BOOOOM!
BOOOOM!
Each strike crushed more of the monster’s ruined head.
From the corner of his eye, Reigns noticed Rock crawling toward the battlefield and shouted.
"Stop! This is my prey!"
Even as he said that, he continued pounding the creature relentlessly.
Fragments of shell and flesh scattered across the APC roof.
The lobster’s movements gradually slowed and its attacks weakened. Its shrieks grew fainter.
Seeing the opportunity, Reigns gathered every bit of strength left in his exhausted body and raised the hammer high above his head.
His muscles trembled, and his arms felt as though they would tear apart, but he refused to give up.
"DIEEEEEE, YOU STUPID PRICKKK!"
Roaring, he brought the hammer down.
BOOOOOOOOM!
The final strike landed with overwhelming force.
BOOOOM!
The remaining half of the lobster’s head collapsed completely under the impact. Its thick armor shattered into countless fragments while flesh burst apart, spraying dark blood across the roof of the APC. The devastating blow ripped through what little remained of its defenses.
The gigantic monster suddenly froze in place.
Its enormous body trembled once, as though struggling to cling to life, before the last trace of strength left it.
Moments later, all of its movement stopped, and the terrifying creature became completely lifeless.
Silence followed.
[You have killed a Lv36 Crayion.]
[You have gained 3000 days of tradable lifespan.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
[You have leveled up.]
The notifications echoed nonstop inside his head, but Reigns barely registered any of them. His thoughts had become sluggish, and his mind was too exhausted to pay attention to the familiar voices.
His arms had gone completely numb. His muscles shook uncontrollably from overexertion, and the burns covering his skin throbbed with every passing second. Even breathing had become difficult; each breath sent a dull pain through his battered body.
Slowly, he tried to step away from the monster’s corpse.
But his foot slipped.
Thud!
Reigns tumbled off the APC and crashed into the knee-deep snow beside the vehicle. A cloud of white powder burst into the air as his body landed heavily, leaving a deep imprint in the frozen ground.
For a long moment, he remained there without moving, half-buried in the freezing snow while staring blankly at the dull gray sky above.
His chest rose and fell unevenly as he struggled to catch his breath, and the icy cold beneath him barely even registered anymore.
The notifications continued chiming inside his head, one after another.
But at that moment, Reigns was simply too exhausted—and in far too much pain—to care.
