Chapter 1902: Chapter 1902: Magic Apostle (23)

Maggie looked at the girl in front of her, whose face was familiar but everything else was strange. Something stabbed at her heart.

She had felt something was off before, but whenever she tried to ask, the girl always found an excuse to avoid it.

"Do you hate me?"

"I don’t know." It’s hard to say whether the original owner hated her mother.

Before Maggie married Charles, the original owner lived with Maggie, and she was well taken care of.

But everything changed after she married Charles.

She was afraid to show any kindness openly.

She knew many things weren’t the original owner’s fault, but she didn’t dare speak up for her.

The original owner understood Maggie’s difficulties and always listened to her, yielding in every way.

But every time Maggie made her apologize to Elsa for something she hadn’t done, the original owner must have felt hatred at that moment.

Tears silently fell from Maggie’s moist eyes: "I’m doing it for the future..."

There were footsteps outside, and it sounded like quite a few people.

Maggie’s face turned pale instantly.

"You need to leave quickly."

Maggie opened the window, intending for Chuzheng to escape through it.

Chuzheng stood still.

"Hurry up and go." Maggie urged her.

Having followed Charles for so long, Maggie understood him well.

Zhenzhen’s significant changes, along with today’s Colosseum incident, meant he wouldn’t let her go. He would capture her and use every means to torture and interrogate her.

Maggie could sense it was still her daughter... but didn’t know why there was such a drastic change.

She couldn’t bear to watch her get captured.

"What are you afraid of?" Chuzheng’s expression was indifferent.

Bang—

Almost as Chuzheng finished speaking, the room door was kicked open.

The person at the door didn’t waste time and waved: "Take her away!"

Chuzheng squinted, and Yin Xian silently fell to the ground. The people outside surged in, reaching out to grab her and pull her out of the room.

"Ah!"

"Damn! What’s that!"

"Don’t grab me."

The room suddenly turned chaotic, with people staggering like they were drunk, before they could even react, they had already collapsed on the ground.

The people outside who hadn’t come in were bewildered.

What happened?

Chuzheng stood leisurely in the room, coldly observing them, without a hint of panic or nervousness.

Maggie looked at the person in front of her with a shocked but peculiar gaze, momentarily forgetting to react.

-

Charles awaited the arrival of the people who would bring Chuzheng over, but instead, he heard noise from downstairs.

Charles opened the door and stepped out, just in time to see Chuzheng leap down from upstairs, her form light as a butterfly amidst the glow of magic skills.

She could easily avoid magic attacks, while those attacking her inexplicably lunged to the ground.

Mages fighting in close combat challenged their vitality greatly, but Chuzheng preferred close combat, reaching them before they could even cast their magic.

Magic cast would ultimately harm the comrades, bearing ill consequences for themselves.

Chuzheng easily swept through them all.

Charles grasped the railing, face cold as he watched the battle below. Several of the people he sent were intermediate magicians, yet they couldn’t handle someone who couldn’t use magic.

This was a slap in the face!

Charles instructed those beside him: "Call more people, make sure to capture her!"

-

Chuzheng didn’t appear as relaxed as she looked; some magic was unexpected, it was exhausting to avoid everything.

Continuing like this would cause her to collapse from exhaustion here.

So many people, taking them all down would make her bald!

Better escape first...

[Abandoning the prestige of the King?] The King’s Account leisurely appeared.

So, I need to make a big move.

[...]

What big move? What are you planning?

Chuzheng took down a group and quickly slipped toward the door, those surrounding her recognized her intention and immediately encircled her.

Coincidentally, Elsa heard the commotion and walked inside from outside the main door.

Chuzheng’s eyes flashed, immediately stepping forward to grab Elsa’s wrist.

"Ah..."

Elsa was caught off guard, caught by Chuzheng, completely forgetting to struggle.

By the time she wanted to use magic, Chuzheng had already pinned her arm behind her back.

"Block them, or else..."

Chuzheng released her, pushing Elsa toward the crowd.

Chuzheng didn’t finish the sentence, but Elsa understood.

She actually threatened her!

Annoying!

Despite her anger, Elsa couldn’t disregard Chuzheng’s words.

"Miss..."

Elsa blocked them: "What are you doing?"

"The master told us to capture Xue Laiya."

"Capture her?"

"Miss, please step aside."

"..." You think I don’t want to?

Elsa glanced out of the corner of her eye and saw Chuzheng had already disappeared at the doorway. She immediately stepped aside, letting the people chase after her.

-

The group chased out but found Chuzheng hadn’t run away; instead, she stood on the lawn outside.

The light outside was dim, shrouding Chuzheng in darkness, making it impossible to see her expression.

The group: "..."

What is she doing?

Elsa also thought Chuzheng had asked her to hold these people up to escape, yet who expected her to stand there.

Is she toying with me?

"Xue Laiya, you can’t escape!" A group swarmed and encircled her.

Chuzheng folded her arms: "It’s not up to you."

"Don’t waste your breath, capture her first." The other side seemed aware of the rule that villains die from talking too much and directly moved to apprehend her.

Chuzheng slowly raised her hand, accompanied by a ’crash,’ the building behind collapsed without warning.

Space was momentarily silent, everyone’s movements frozen in place.

Silver light zipped like a meteor from the ruins, gathered to Chuzheng, and then disappeared again, like a fleeting illusion.

Crash—

A more distant building followed suit.

The entire manor, all visible to them, collapsed one after another.

The speed resembled dominoes, quite astonishing to watch.

Once the group was done being amazed, they turned back; there was no trace of Chuzheng left, not even a corner of her garment.

Chuzheng had toppled a section of the Charles Manor’s buildings, and this news quickly spread.

Such a commotion, and nearby buildings could view Charles Manor.

The lights over there extinguished instantly, leaving only dark shadows.

-

The person responsible was currently leaving Charles Manor’s range, turning onto a main road.

It was nighttime, the streets quiet, deserted.

She hadn’t gone far before a carriage trailed leisurely behind.

Chuzheng glanced sideways, initially not paying it much attention.

But the carriage kept following her, showing no intention of overtaking.

Chuzheng sped up, and the carriage matched pace. When she slowed, the carriage did too.

"..."

Chuzheng halted and looked directly at the carriage.

In the middle of the night, following her, for what? To rob?

The carriage stopped, a window opened, a face abruptly appearing in Chuzheng’s sight.

An adolescent leaned against the window, waving: "We meet again."

Chuzheng: "..."

What is this little thing doing out at night? Aren’t you afraid of being snatched away!?
