Chapter 151: Doctor Henry

The National Annual Medical Assembly was held on the Grand Convergence Hall, located in the National Beast Medicine Council Headquarters in the Grand Medical Ring.

It was the largest medical gathering in the nation and serves as the highest official assembly for physicians, medical researchers, neurological specialists, beast medicine experts, energy pathology scholars, and hospital executives.

It was the most important gathering that even attracted the other nation worldwide.

The district surrounding the hall was one of the most prestigious professional sectors in the city. Nearby structures include advanced medical towers, neurological research institutes, national treatment centers, physician academies, and specialized recovery facilities.

The area was connected through elevated transit lines, medical skybridges, and restricted emergency transport routes.

Doctor Eleanor had only attended to the Grand Convergence Hall when she was staying in the Clark City, studying for a doctorate degree.

When she returned to the Chambers Hall, she would only watch in the television whenever the Grand Convergence Hall hosted individuals who had significant breakthrough in the field of medicine.

Hence, when they arrived at the Assembly Plaza, which had physician memorial statues, reflection pools, medical achievement monuments, and ceremonial pathways, she was struck with extreme nostalgia.

Doctor Ella noticed how mesmerized she was and laughed.

She said, "Been a while since you’ve visited, huh?"

Doctor Eleanor nodded. They both led Felix and others to the main attraction spot in the Assembly Plaza. They introduced each physician that had their statue erected as they also shared information of their contribution to the humanity.

Felix and others weren’t bored. In fact, they paid respects to the physicians. If it was not for them, the medical advancement might not be progressive at the present.

Just as they wandered for half an hour, it was finally seven o’clock and the massive bell rang thunderously, catching everyone’s attention.

Doctor Eleanor said, "The ceremony is about to start."

A ceremonial procession was conducted at the plaza. Various individuals participated in the ceremonial procession.

Doctor Eleanor had already rejected their invitation to be holding the banner and preferred to participate in a low-key manner.

There were participants coming from different cities, so it was already expected that more than a hundred thousand individuals were present.

However, only 50,000 seats the Grand Assembly Chamber had. That also why Doctor Eleanor rejected to participate in the ceremony as she would be leaving behind Felix and others, having to accompany others significant figures that pressured her.

The processional ceremony proceeded with Doctor Eleanor and others deciding to watch outside.

Once everything was finished, various individuals proceeded to different main interior sections, allowing Doctor Eleanor to bring others inside the Grand Assembly Chambers.

She had already reserved a seat—only the ceremonial procession wasn’t included.

As they entered, an elderly doctor appeared in front of them. Doctor Eleanor’s eyes widened when he recognized who he was.

Without hesitation, she bowed deeply and greeted him, "Good morning, Dr. Henry."

Doctor Ella followed her.

Doctor Henry chuckled and nodded. "It’s nice to meet you, Doctor Eleanor. I’m flattered that you immediately recognize me."

Doctor Eleanor was embarrassed, scratching her cheeks awkwardly. When Doctor Henry contacted her through email and stated he was the assigned doctor to lead Doctor Eleanor and others, Doctor Eleanor immediately stalked him.

It turned out he was a Senior Assembly Liaison of the National Beast Medicine Council, specialized in Medical Administration and Inter-Institutional Coordination.

In other words, the National Beast Medicine Council didn’t treat them lightly, giving their highest-ranking liaison to guide them throughout the event.

When Doctor Eleanor saw him, his silver-gray hair that was neatly combed back, sharp facial features, light wrinkles around his eyes, calm posture, and always impeccably dressed with the attire consisted of a white formal medical coat, silver-trimmed Council insignia, dark formal trousers, and a ceremonial identification badge worn on the chest, she immediately understood that Doctor Henry himself had come looking for them.

She was really flattered and excited.

She replied, "Of course, I recognized you immediately. I won’t deny that I immediately researched about you as soon as you contacted me. Your professional background is admirable, Doctor Henry."

Doctor Henry was surprised that he broke his calm expression.

Naturally, younger doctors who had massive breakthrough in the medicine field would treat his professional background lightly.

He’d been leading main presenters every year since he retired a decade ago. Every time he interacted with them, he had not once been praised by them.

They might have greeted him amiably, but there were no mentioning of a praise of his professional background.

Doctor Henry was emotional, but he immediately restrained himself from crying.

He quickly replied, "I didn’t know that someone is aware, much less admire my background. I’m truly grateful for your kind words."

Doctor Eleanor was startled. She hastily shook her head. "It’s nothing, Doctor Henry, you deserve the praise."

Doctor Eleanor genuinely admired Doctor Henry’s professional background.

Doctor Henry began his career as a clinical physician specializing in emergency recovery medicine.

For three decades, he worked in disaster-response hospitals, frontier treatment facilities, and large-scale civilian evacuation operations from A-grade cities that were at the edge of the humanity’s area.

His reputation was built not through groundbreaking discoveries but through exceptional organizational competence.

Over time he transitioned into administration and eventually became one of the National Beast Medicine Council’s most trusted coordinators.

His current responsibility was to oversee the arrival of distinguished delegates, assembly scheduling, institutional coordination, protocol enforcement, and executive-level guest assistance.

At this moment, he served as one of the highest-ranking logistical officers, having his responsibilities focused around escorting notable physician, introducing delegates to relevant departments, arranging presentations, and resolving administrative concerns.

However, the National Beast Medical Council treated Doctor Eleanor and Felix highly to the point they instructed Doctor Henry to focus on Doctor Eleanor and Felix alone, leaving other tasks to other high-ranking logistical officers.

Doctor Henry was filled with wonders and anticipation to meet Doctor Eleanor and Felix.

After having been praised by Doctor Eleanor, he swept his gaze around and asked Doctor Eleanor, "Can you introduce me to Felix?"

Of course, he was already aware of Felix, but he did not want to introduce himself straight to him, appearing he ignored Doctor Eleanor.

Doctor Henry was a very considerate elder...
