Chapter 150: Imitating Master Shen
Felix thought his instruction wasn’t clear enough.
He raised his index finger and said, "Attack this finger."
To give Ember an assurance, he depleted ice energy from his energy core and compressed them to cover his index finger similar to a sword energy.
He said, "Don’t worry, this finger can withstand your attack. But that doesn’t mean you should hold back."
Ember was still perplexed. Despite perceiving the intention of her master, she still couldn’t bring herself at the thought of hurting him.
However, her master’s order was absolute. Her master also assured her repeatedly, so she gulped and finally did as he told.
She opened her mouth and summoned fire energy that was being released by her body. She compressed them flawlessly using her beak.
Since Felix told her not to hold back, she didn’t. She consumed fire energy without restraint until she hit the limit of the compression.
The fireball was now at the size of the fist. Felix was stunned. The aura that the fireball was emitting was actually perilous.
When Ember finally released them, shooting at him at a speed that was actually quite difficult to evade, Felix gulped and readied himself.
The fireball collided with his index finger, instantly draining half of the ice energy.
But that was only the collision.
The explosion was hundred times destructive.
It was so immense that Felix was instantly covered by the explosion, causing him to panic slightly after remembering what had just transpired minutes ago.
Thankfully, the area that his skin was burnt was his right hand where the index finger was and his right arm.
His clothes were ignited on fire though, compelling him to consume energy just to extinguish the fire. Although the fire became natural, Felix’s energy was like an air.
Felix glanced at his index finger... No, to his whole arm and smiled bitterly.
The searing pain finally assaulted his arm, causing him to grimace.
I guess, I shouldn’t try what Master Shen did, unless I’m dealing with an attack from a creature with a whole major rank difference.
Felix was correct. Even when Ember was still at the first tier Rare rank and had just evolved, with her five star potential, she was already as strong as an average Commander rank 4 Beast Tamer.
Felix might be stronger than an average Commander Beast Tamer, receiving an all-out offensive attack from Ember and defending it with his index finger alone guaranteed an injury.
Now that his arm was scorched, Ember flew into panic. She also sensed a subtle pain that her master was feeling, causing her to be distraught.
She hastily flew towards her master and immediately checked up on him.
His whole right arm had indeed turned black.
She was the cause!
Felix chuckled, grabbing her attention.
Ember gazed at him in a daze.
Felix gave her an eye of affection and said, "Don’t worry. Doctor Eleanor can instantly heal and turn this into normal. I asked for it, so don’t blame yourself, okay?"
Ember found it difficult to not blame herself, but since her master gave her an assurance, what she felt was alleviated.
She then hastily urged her master to come towards Doctor Eleanor, or else, she’d be the one to come into her and dragged her towards him.
Felix laughed, irritating Ember as he wasn’t taking his injury seriously.
Felix stood up, left the room, and sought for Doctor Eleanor.
Thankfully, only three hours had passed, so most of them were still awake in the guest room. Doctor Ella couldn’t provide a private room for Doctor Eleanor, so the latter was staying in a room with others.
Of course, she had her own space and bed. Others also respected privacy and silence, so she wasn’t disturbed at all.
Currently, she was preparing her presentation for tomorrow, but she still wasn’t nervous. She believed she’d only feel it by tomorrow.
At the moment, she was shadow presenting, mumbling and waving her hand like an insane individual.
However, not a single person in the room thought that way. They would occasionally glance at her but not linger their gaze for too long, afraid they’d disturb her.
Not a single person had disturbed her, not until Felix opened the guest room, with Ember cawing in panic.
Felix already told her to keep quiet, but Ember was so anxious that once the room was opened and she saw the silhouette of Doctor Eleanor, she immediately cawed for help.
Doctor Eleanor’s immersion was instantly shattered. She hastily turned towards Ember, who was in sheer distress. She was surprised but immediately confused when she noticed no injury from her body.
However, when she finally understood what Ember wanted to say, she glanced at Felix’s charred right arm and raised her right eyebrow.
She gazed at Felix, who was smiling, seemingly not worried about his injury.
She waited until they arrived in front of her, before summoning her main beast pet—a Verdant Pulse Stag.
As soon as it appeared, it exuded an immense life energy, soothing every individual’s emotion at present, especially Felix’s parents.
Sarah was the most anxious one after realizing her son was injured. Even when Felix tried to hide his arm from her vision, she could immediately tell the reason Ember was distressed.
After Doctor Eleanor summoned her magnificent stag, she heaved a sigh of relief, as Noah hugged her deeply. They shared the same bed, together with Mia, who were playing with Krisha on the living room.
She wasn’t present and they were grateful for it.
Doctor Eleanor had her stag healed Felix’s right arm. In a split-second, his right arm returned to normal—his skin was even rejuvenated. It was pulsing with harmless life energy and Felix didn’t even attempt to drive it away.
He let the life energy lingered on his body to purify the impurities hiding deep within.
Once he was finally recovered, he felt invigorated, giving Ember a huge sigh of relief.
Doctor Eleanor asked while frowning, "What happened?"
Felix simply smiled. He couldn’t bring himself to explain.
He was too embarrassed.
Ember, on the other hand, immediately tried to explain but failed when Felix forcefully stored her into his soul space.
Felix bowed deeply to Doctor Eleanor and said, "Thank you, Doctor Eleanor. I won’t disturb you now. Good luck with your presentation tomorrow."
Before Doctor Eleanor could respond and further inquired what happened, Felix turned around and left.
Doctor Eleanor didn’t bother herself deeply towards it as she was instantly distracted by her preparation for her presentation.
It was already expected she’d be the last one to present out of three other significant doctors who made a breakthrough this year.
Hers was the most anticipated, she was already all over the news.
Hence, it was already expected that more than a thousand attendees would be present, possibly including the Monarchs themselves.
It was nerve-wracking. Just thinking about presenting in front of many distinguished figures finally made her nervous.
She took a deep breath and meditated to calm her mind.
Becoming a doctor meant she was already used to presenting in front of many distinguished individuals, except now was more extreme.
Furthermore, she already submitted her outline of her presentation, and it was to be expected that her presentation would last for three hours, having fifteen minutes break for every hour.
She meditated for some time until her mind entered deep focus in her preparation.
Tomorrow, she’d be presenting.
She knew after that day, her life would not be the same.
All thanks to Felix.
...
The next day, Doctor Ella woke up quite early to prepare their breakfast. They’d be traveling quite early later. Although Doctor Eleanor’s presentation was set at 1pm in the afternoon, Doctor Ella and others already stated that they should also listen to the preceding presenters.
Their breakthrough might not be compared to Doctor Eleanor, but every doctor was aware that attending to National Annual Medical Assembly was a must to avoid being ignorant of the current progress of the medicine field.
As for Felix and others, whether they’d be accompanying them in listening to what might possibly be a tedious lecture, they could also explore the Grand Medical Ring, provided that someone would assist them.
Doctor Eleanor already assured that a doctor from the Grand Medical Ring was already assigned to entertain Felix due to his status not only outside of the medicine but his involvement with Doctor Eleanor’s thesis.
When they finally had their breakfast, Doctor Ella briefed them of her plan.
Others looked at Felix. His decision would be their decision.
Felix swept his gaze and was amused. He contemplated for a while and finally said, "I want to listen to the lectures."
He gazed at his parents and Krisha, and said, "Mia might be bored. If better, please accompany her in visiting some tourist spots."
Before his parents and Krisha could respond in agreement, Mia suddenly exclaimed, "No, I want to be with you, brother. I’ll go wherever you go."
In fact, she wasn’t clingy to Felix. She wanted to Ashen and Ember with her. She could not have their presence when Felix was away from her, so she knew she had to get close with her brother if she wanted to play with them.
Felix beamed a smile at her and nodded.
Inwardly, he felt hurt. He was clearly aware that Mia only wanted to be with him because of Ashen and Ember.
It was similar to other kids who only wanted to be closed with their parents because they could play with their iPad.
In the end, everyone decided to listen to what they believed would be a tedious lecture...
