Elias stood there, looking at Dreke, a hint of exhaustion in his eyes. Two people had died, but instead of the number of people decreasing, it had remained the same.

He hadn’t expected this, but he didn’t look too surprised either, as he watched a dark-robed man next to Dreke block the shadow blade with his fingers.

Another dark-robed figure materialized behind Elias, aiming a blade at him.

"D-did you just try to kill me?" Dreke, now suddenly wide awake, looked at the shadow blade that had almost cut him in half.

"Don’t do anything stupid," Astralious’s warning echoed in Elias’s mind. "They are stronger than Soul Beasts. They are at least five-evolution existences."

"I thought the family couldn’t assign guards at the academy," Elias said, watching the guard crush the shadow blade into pieces.

None of the guards belonged to the Academy, a confirmation he received through the badges they wore proudly over their dark attire, as if they didn’t care about hiding their identities.

"So you really were trying to kill me." Dreke brushed his fingers through his hair, releasing neurotoxins to erase the effects of alcohol on his mind completely.

His eyes turned cold, and he asked, "Do you think I am easy prey?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about. I was never trying to kill you. I just wanted to scare you. I would’ve stopped the attack even if the guards hadn’t."

Elias hid all the poison deep down in his heart, and asked, "Can’t a little brother show off his new abilities in a prank?"

"Hmm? It was a prank?" Dreke’s voice became even colder. "You think I am a buddy of yours, for you to prank? If I kill you right now, do you think it will also be a prank? Let me perform an even better prank, then."

"Strip him!" he commanded the guards. "After that, leave him at the busiest place in the Academy! Let the world witness the greatest prank."

"Aren’t they the guards of the family? I’m still a descendant of the family. Can they bear the consequences?" Elias asked, frowning.

Even if the guards didn’t allow him to kill Dreke, they shouldn’t be able to treat another descendant like this either, no matter how disliked that person was.

"They might work for the family, but they serve my mother. She is the one who assigned them to me. They will do everything that I say!" Dreke smiled smugly. "So you’d better give up now and enjoy this prank. There’s no point in struggling."

Just as he had suggested, the guards did indeed listen to him. One stayed next to Dreke to protect him, while the other appeared before Elias and reached out his hand to grab his collar.

Elias tried to step back, his face filled with panic as the guard approached him. Unfortunately for him, the guard caught him by the collar and pulled him closer.

"Tch, what a waste of a night," Dreke glanced at the lifeless girls, before shifting his gaze to Elias who was struggling to free himself. "There’s no point in resisting. Just make it easy on both of us and let this prank happen."

"Why should I make it easy on you?" Elias asked, but strangely enough, the voice didn’t seem to come from the person who was caught by the guard.

Hearing the voice, the other guard also reacted swiftly, as he looked at Elias who was standing behind them. He reached out his hand and grabbed Elias by his collar, pushing him back.

"There are two of them?" Even Dreke looked confused, shifting his gaze back and between two boys, each being held by a guard.

"They might be strong, but they alone can’t protect you, can they?" To Dreke’s disbelief, a voice came one more time.

"The two boys whom the guards were holding turned into smoke, covering the entire area in the blink of an eye. The guards realized that they had been fooled.

They quickly tried to return to Dreke, but it was too late. A hand emerged from Dreke’s shadow and grabbed his ankle, pulling him inside as if the shadow were an ocean swallowing a person.

One of the guards clapped loudly, the impact dispersing the smoke and clearing the area. But even after the area had cleared, they couldn’t find Dreke anywhere.

Not just Dreke, but Elias was also missing. It was as if both of them had disappeared in an instant.

Neither of the two guards could believe it. Just what kind of ability was this? Even if he could create illusory clones, that wasn’t typically a harmful or even powerful skill.

The problem was that the clones were realistic and could be touched, until they disappeared at the slightest harm or through the will of the creator. It was basically a useless skill in the grand scheme of things.

What truly left them stunned was the skill that helped Elias disappear with Dreke, something like teleportation, which shouldn’t be a skill a person could awaken in the first month of their awakening.

Even amongst supreme classes, an ability like this only appeared after the third or fourth evolutions. Moreover, they had heard that Elias wasn’t even a creator or destroyer class.

"Find him, or we are dead!" The guards were truly panicked. Even if they didn’t think that Elias was actually going to hurt Dreke, they couldn’t let him be missing for long.

With the kind of temper he had, they knew that the anger was going to be let out on him if they didn’t free him fast enough.

The guards each selected a direction and started searching for Dreke, unaware that the boy they were looking for was right there.

The shadow had been there throughout this time. It had simply moved to hide in the other shadows before the smoke dispersed.

"Where am I?" Dreke asked, looking around at the endless space.

He could see a sky that was pitch black. But at the same time, there was ground underneath him that seemed to be somewhat bright, despite there being no source of light.
