Zesten returned to his palace and tossed the Prophet’s body aside. He went down to the basement of the palace and stopped before a door that stood out from the rest, as it strangely had the symbol of the Dimensional Academy itself.
"I will repay this humiliation a thousandfold." He pushed the door open and stepped inside. Once he was inside, the door closed on its own.
....
Once he was far away from the Shadow Domain to the point that he couldn’t be seen, he told the ego to land on the ground.
Once on the ground far away from any domains, he jumped out of the jet and stretched his arms. There was some regret on his face that he couldn’t take the Prophet’s essence and abilities since that person was killed inside the domain.
At the same time, he was slightly relieved. Having analyzed that fable, he was certain that he was the reason that his whereabouts were revealed. Without that fable, he could be somewhat relieved that his plan wasn’t going to be seen anytime soon.
"Keep an eye on the surroundings through the sky," he told the ego. "If you find any soul beast, you should be able to take it out yourself. And if you can’t, come here and inform me."
Elias walked away from the jet, which soared through the sky on its own, to keep an eye on the surroundings and to intercept any enemies. Meanwhile, Elias sat down on the ground, and brought all four hundred orbs that he had created through the merger.
He personally checked every orb, and its compatibility with his own body, especially the orbs that were created through merger with elite fables.
The only problem was that almost all the orbs had compatibility in the range of ten to thirty percent with him, with only a rare few going to the forty percent range. He started separating those with the highest compatibility with his body, and kept them away from the rest.
After a little more than an hour, he finally finished the separation and counted the orbs that were valid for merger with him.
"Only twelve that have more than forty percent," he looked at the handful of orbs, which was quite less than he had initially expected.
After his evolution, he could merge with even the objects that were completely incompatible with him, but after the experience from last time where he almost ended up getting trapped in his own mind, he didn’t try to take any excessive risks.
He sent the rest of the orbs back, which were enough to create something comparable to a high-tier fable level creation. As for the twelve or so orbs, he kept them in his hand.
"Any enemies nearby?" he asked the ego, which was still flying in the sky, not far from him.
"I can’t see any. I only see a new pillar rising into the sky," the ego’s words appeared in his head, after a short period of silence.
"Good. I’m going to be busy, and I might even scream. Just keep protecting me, until I wake up," Elias took a deep breath, and closed his fists with the orbs in them.
"Is that even something you need to ask?" The ego retorted. He kept observing the ground from the sky, while still occasionally trying to jog his memories of the past.
In the past, he might not be able to face someone like Harbinger. But after his second merger, he was confident that he wouldn’t need to run if someone like Harbinger came before him again, as long as that person didn’t carry that frightening weapon.
"Confirm extraction." On the other hand, Elias started the merger process with the essence of Twelve Fables that were most compatible with him, evolving himself one more time without having to go through a class evolution.
Once the merger process began, a default screen of his own analysis appeared, but his eyes were already closed, so he didn’t pay attention to it.
If he had, he would’ve been surprised to see that his stats were higher than they were when he last checked them, even though he hadn’t done anything significant since then, other than killing mid-tier fables in large numbers.
Even the fruits that he ate with Lycorice, only increased his strength stat by a few fractions of a long, but his current stats were still higher than they should have been.

Another section was present in his analysis screen, different from his evolution class rank. And all of it has happened when the current merger hadn’t even begun.

A storm rose up around Elias, as the merger process finally began. And the storm only grew stronger with each passing second, creating a low pressure zone in areas around Elias.
Even the ego momentarily lost its balance and had to apply more force to get away from getting caught in the storm that strangely kept growing wider and taller.
Many students had seen pillars of light rising to the sky, that were signs of a high tier being contracted, but it was different this time.
It was the first time that many around the Land of Fables were able to see what felt like a storm pillar, rising to the sky, with lightning crackling in the storm, that made the pillar shine even brighter than the pillars of soul contract.
"Hmm? Do you know what that is?" Not just the students, but even the two professors were standing atop the trees in the forest, looking at the distant storm.
