Chapter 120: Li Yanyan’s Arrival

At the hospital, Li Chen found himself standing in an uneasy silence, surrounded by people connected through familial ties but separated by the awkwardness of unfamiliarity. His thoughts swirled with concern for Sun Fang and the unsettling presence of Sun Gang. The dark energy that clung to Sun Gang like a shadow unsettled Li Chen, and he couldn’t shake off the feeling that something ominous lurked beneath the surface.

Sun lixia stepped outside to answer a call, leaving Li Chen deep in contemplation. As she returned, she noticed his distraction and offered her support. "Are you okay? You seem distracted," she observed with a mother’s intuition.

Li Chen hesitated before voicing his unease about Sun Fang’s attack. "Something is missing. It doesn’t add up that someone killed the people he was with, but he was left almost untouched, with only a broken window in his car."

Sun lixia nodded in understanding. "You’re right to be concerned. Let’s give Sun Fang some time. There might be details he doesn’t remember yet. I’ll also look into this from a different angle. We’ll uncover the truth together," she reassured him, her motherly instincts guiding her through the mysteries that unfolded within their family.

Sun lixia gently patted Li Chen’s shoulder and said, "We need to be patient and let the pieces fall into place. There’s more to this situation than meets the eye. " Li Chen nodded, appreciating his mother’s calm demeanor in times of uncertainty. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

As they continued waiting, Sun Weilong and Grandpa Sun exited the hospital room where Sun Fang was recovering. Sun Weilong approached Li Chen and Sun lixia, concern etched on his face. "How is Sun Fang?" Li Chen asked.

Sun Weilong sighed, "Physically, he’s stable, but emotionally, he’s shaken. He can’t recall much about the incident. It’s like a haze."

Sun lixia furrowed her brows, deep in thought. "Something is amiss. We can’t let this go unresolved. He might remember more later."

As the family gathered, united by concern for Sun Fang, the ominous undercurrent of unknown dangers lingered, and Sun lixia couldn’t shake the feeling that a storm was brewing beneath the surface.

Grandpa Sun, taking charge of the situation, declared, "I will gather all my forces to investigate this incident. In the meantime, we should ensure the media remains oblivious to Sun Fang’s hospitalization. We don’t want unnecessary attention."

Sun Weilong affirmed, "I will make sure the news is blocked, Father."

Sun Gang, returning from the restroom, interjected, "Grandpa, we can’t make a big deal out of this. Maybe Sun Fang angered some people, and they were getting their revenge. Since he’s alive, all is well."

Sun Lixia, skeptical, responded, "Hmm, really, Sun Gang? That’s your opinion."

Sun Gang, feeling challenged, clenched his fists and retorted, "What is that statement supposed to mean, Aunt Lixia?"

Unfazed, Sun Lixia remarked, "I’m amazed by your calmness when your brother is lying in the hospital."

Sun Gang, dismissive, stated, "He’s not dead, right? So why should I worry?"

Grandpa Sun intervened, "Gang, watch how you speak to your aunt. You were raised better."

Sun Gang, realizing his lapse, lowered his head and begrudgingly apologized, "Apologies, Grandpa."

Grandpa Sun corrected, "Why are you apologizing to me?"

Sun Gang, now slightly annoyed, redirected his apology, "I apologize, Aunt Lixia."

Sun Lixia chuckled, "Oh, you’re still young. I understand. You have a lot of growing up to do."

Sun Gang stormed off, his irritation palpable as he abruptly announced his departure. Grandpa Sun shook his head in disappointment, commenting, "That boy has a bad attitude."

Sun Weilong, more pragmatic, suggested, "Let’s forget about him, Dad. I’ll need to arrange additional bodyguards for Sun Fang, covering the entire hospital. What if the person comes back?"

Grandpa Sun nodded solemnly, acknowledging the gravity of the situation, "Okay, do what is necessary."

Sun Weilong swiftly moved to a quieter area to make several urgent phone calls, arranging enhanced security measures for his brother’s safety.

Left alone, Grandpa Sun turned to Sun Lixia and Li Chen, questioning, "Why haven’t you guys come to my place for dinner?"

Sun Lixia explained, "There’s been a lot going on, Dad, but we’ll come."

Grandpa Sun expressed, "We have so much to catch up on."

"I know," Sun Lixia acknowledged.

"Well, my old body can’t stay up for long. Since that lad is now awake, I will go and have my rest," Grandpa Sun declared.

"Okay, Dad, we will keep you informed," Sun Lixia assured.

Grandpa Sun left, and suddenly Sun Lixia’s phone rang. She answered and said, "Yes." On the other end, Li Yanyan stated, "We are here." Sun Lixia replied, "Great, I am on my way. We have a lot to talk about." She then hung up and turned to Li Chen, saying, "Come with me. I want you to meet someone." Without any questions, Li Chen followed his mother as they left the hospital.

Exiting the hospital, they found a sleek black car waiting for them. Sun Lixia gestured for Li Chen to get in, and they were driven to Pinnacle Estate, where Sun Lixia’s villa was located.

Li Chen couldn’t shake the feeling that they had only scratched the surface of the complexities surrounding their family.

Sun Lixia, always composed, spoke as the car glided through the quiet streets of Pinnacle Estate. "Li Chen, there are matters beyond our control, and alliances are formed in the pursuit of stability. We must tread carefully and be vigilant."

Li Chen, feeling a mix of curiosity and apprehension, nodded in agreement. The shadows of the night seemed to dance around the car as it moved towards their destination. He wanted to ask more questions, understand the intricacies, but something in his mother’s demeanor told him now was not the time.

Sun Lixia, with a slight smile, said, "Things may get complicated, Li Chen, but remember, family stands strong together. There are forces at play that we might not fully comprehend, but we face them united."

Li Chen absorbed her words, contemplating the mysteries that surrounded their lives. The road ahead seemed both daunting and intriguing. As the car continued its journey into the night, Sun Lixia’s thoughts remained inscrutable, leaving Li Chen to wonder about the secrets that lay beneath the surface of their seemingly ordinary lives.
